This by far the best ombre tutorial on planet earth. Simple -straightforward and brilliantly done. Thank you. Love and Peace from Canada xx
Thanks Catherine! I’m so pleased you found it helpful and useful ♥️ xx
agree!!!!
You have the most beautiful nails I’ve ever seen, they are perfect
Ahh, thank you Karen!! They are naturally very thin and bendy so I need the BIAB in order for me to grow them to this length. I do love them now 💅🏻
Finally an ombré tutorial that uses the product I have and is short and to the point!
You’re welcome!!
Your hands are beautiful and the nails are perfect to accent your lovely hands! Well done!
I’m going to try this with regular polish. Love the baby boomer look, so classy and elegant
Thank you so much! Very kind of you to say. Enjoy recreating it with polish! 🫶🏼
No end to your beauty talents 😮🤩
thank you SO MUCH for this video! I'll be referring to this trying it out myself. Ever since I switched to natural nails, I still loved the look of French ombre. I thought I'd have to sacrifice that. The only ways I've known it can be done is the traditional powder method (most salons do it this way) but I wanna stay away from powders or I've seen the airbrush way (which isn't common in most salons). I was looking into builder gels from the gel bottle and then BAM I saw you achieve the French ombre with your naturals nails and just gel polish!
So, so beautiful! I have seen tutorials where they use white builder gel at the top and pink at the bottom. This looks much easier and orettier!
One of the best tutorials I’ve seen - going to try today, thank you ❤
Gorgeous!
I've just stumbled on your video looking at different nail designs for my wedding next year. You have almost the same engagement ring as I do! How funny
Oh wow! How cool! My fiancé designed this for me, but our fiancé’s must have similar taste 🥰
I love it ! 😍 how neat, no mess, the shape & the length of the nails simply beautiful! ❤️
Thank you so much!!
Dang you have some talent and amazing patience, your work of art is beautiful, i wish i could afford someone like you ❤🌹🌹🌹🥰🥰🥰🥰💖💖💖🌼
Thank you so much, I appreciate the kind words ☺️
Great tutorial. So simple and easy. Thank you.
You're welcome!
One of the best tutorial love it 😍❤️💯
Yay, so pleased you loved it!!
Stunning 😍
Love this def going to try it
Great to hear!
OMG!!!! THANK YOU DARLING AMAZING ❤️ 💛 💚 💙 💜 🖤
You’re welcome Meg!
I absolutely loved it so much 💖💖
I'm so glad!
Thank you for the great tutorial
Can I do it with regular nail polish?
You should be able to do the same with the paint but only once the polish has completely dried :)
Amazing tutorial
Thank you!
Love this tutorial. I am in the USA it looks like for the Evo high pigment you need a license to buy. Any alternative or suggestion? Thanks 😊
Hmm, you could try a regular white paint like acrylic, really take time bouncing it off onto a flat surface before bouncing it onto your nails.
I love listen to you.
Beautiful nails!
Thank you so much!
This is fab, very pretty.
During lockdown I was doing my nails myself, and once it lifted the company I was purchasing from for a whole year told me it was an error that you need a licence to purchase. DEVISTATED is an understatement :/
Ahh no!!! That sucks, and totally immoral. Was it this company? Or another?
@@ShonaghScott No another, Terrisales :( spent a fortune too. On the lookout for a good site, fast shipping and i=nice products so may give this a try :)
So you use builder gel as your "Gel" polish? I understand you do not extend the nail with the builder gel. What is the reason for using builder gel rather than regular gel? You nails look beautiful. Just wondering if Builder gel would be longer lasting than the regular gel or dip powder that I have on hand. Thank you. New at this, and so far, dip and/or gel is lasting at most 5 days! :(
You can extend the nail with builder gel but you need a form, a form is a sticker that sits under your natural nail tip and sticks around the finger to support it while you build on it. Sort of hard to explain. You can layer the builder off the natural nail and along the form, once cured you can remove the paper form, leaving you with an extended nail to continue to build upon.
You can use regular gel polish over the top of your builder gel, the purpose of it is to strengthen your natural nails.
This lasts me until I either remove it or build on top of it as an infill.
Very good tutorial. Thank you very much. Would you advise how you clean the Puffer (Sponge) to use it next time? thank you
I simply dab it onto an acetone soaked paper towel and repeatedly stipple the sponge until the paints more or less gone. You can expect some residue to remain in terms of colour but the surface will go back to being sponge-like.
FYI - I use them a few of times before moving onto a new sponge.
Your nails are so beautiful and I absolutely LOVE this look. How do you keep your cuticles so perfect? I have very dry skin, drink tons of water but it doesn't help.
Thanks so much!
It’s quite likely just genetics when it comes to cuticles. I don’t do anything specific to keep them like this, it’s just how they are 🤷🏼♀️
If you go to a nail tech often and they always trim the cuticle it will become tough overtime, not sure if you see a nail tech.
thanks a lot for this video, it's exactly what I needed :)
Glad it helped!
Cannot wait to try this!! Beautiful! Thank you Shonagh 🥰🥰🥰
You’re welcome Tammy ♥️
Beautiful
Thanks, Gabriel!
Amazing results
Thanks Carmen!
Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you
You are so welcome!
I love it! Just amazing! ❤
Thank you! ☺️ Glad you enjoyed it!
Looooove 😍😍😍
Hi Shonagh, this is beautiful and very classy and understated.
I am going to give it a try! Just a question: how to you clean the nail polish off the sponges?
Thanks Linda, I appreciate the kind words! I pop a little acetone on kitchen paper and then stipple the mini sponge up and down until the residue comes off. It doesn’t need to be completely free of the paint colour just make sure the majority of it has gone.
@@ShonaghScottthank you so much!
Beautiful! 🥰🥰🥰
Omg so beautiful 😍 and you make it look so easy!!
Thanks Hannah, it’s easy when you know how. And practice makes perfect! 💅🏻

You’re welcome, Raquel!
I have really thick nails so I don’t want to use my builder…i want to use cashmere so should I do a base coat in this case?
They're beautiful! ❤️

I really love the way you do ombre nail. Could you please tell me the brand of white color you used? I really appreciate that. I wish you read this message ❤
Hi, I’ve linked the product in the description bar! :)
@@ShonaghScott I got your links. Thank you so much. I love you ❤️
How do I get the teddy color??? I'm obsessed with it :(
Ebay is your friend ;-)
Hey can you mix it with other brands? (apply BIAB as a base and then on top other gelish brands like CND or OPI)
Absolutely!
This was soooooo helpful! Thank you so much😘
You’re welcome!
Perfect
Thank you!
Fabulous tutorial!! I'm definitely trying this out 😁 thank you for sharing

Beautiful nails, what shape are they almond ?
Thank you! Yes, they are almond shaped.
Love it
Thanks Katrín!
Hello there, kindred spirit! :) I am eager to try this technique, although I am not a nail technician, I just do it for fun. Can you, please, tell me what to do in case of severe itching at the fingers level? I keep getting this when using the lamp and UV gels/polishes. Do you know of any treatment for this? I keep getting this itch every time I have my nails done at home or at a salon. Thanks!
I recently learned that you can become allergic to gel polish if it gets on your skin. I have started keeping a small container of acetone and a brush next to me when I am applying the gel and I clean off any that gets on my skin before I cure it and this has cured my itching.
Why is this called baby boomer manicure?
Is it the French tip style or ombré technique or the combination that gives it this name. Excellent tutorial! Thanks.
It’s the ombré element that gives it that name. I really dislike the name 😂 I prefer ombré French! Much classier.
Your nails look really beautiful, but it's not something I could do myself. The lack of steady hands for one thing, and patience for another 😏! Would a normal nail salon do this, or is it more specialised? 💖
I think most salons would offer a form of ombré French?! Have a look locally.
Thanks Shonagh 👍.

Yes you can do it yourself
Same here
How do you get it off your nails
Also me trying to remove the shine with acetone ,ended up removing the whole polish
Oh no!! Lol!!!

Thank you!
Hi i love your nails please can you show
me the products you use
I’ve linked everything in the description bar :)
Thank you
You’re welcome!
Could you use Daisy for the white?
No, it won’t blend the same. You can try the brush technique with Daisy but it’s not the same, nowhere near as seamless, it’s the wrong consistency sadly.
@@ShonaghScott ok thanks for replying x
@@jennyhogg1048 I highly recommend using the Bio Sculpture pigment, it’s brilliant!
Je sais pas l,anglais .merci pour montrer
Why do you use the thin brush on the side of your nails after you apply the builder gel?
To pull the gel gently into the side walls of the nail-bed.
The brush in the bottles is too big to pull down the side walls and often deposits too much gel in this area, making them thicker and risking the gel pooling in the side walls.
Hey Shonagh this gel is like shillac or gelish? or something more stonger like polygel? Thanks in advance
It’s much stronger than Shellac & Gelish, I’m not familiar with Polygel but this one is not flexible, it’s very solid! But can still be soaked off, however, I find it quicker to e-file it down. Hope that helps!
@@ShonaghScottAbsolutley usefull information!!!!Thank you hun !!1Kisses from polish girl!!
Can u do same ombré with acrylic ?
Likely! Although, I don’t use acrylic so I’m not 100% sure.
Is there another brand or option for the white bio sculpture pigment gel ?
Not that I’ve come across.
Where do you buy it at
Can I find this on amazon, what should I write? 🥺
Seriously?
where can I get the aluminum palette?
❤❤❤❤❤❤
🫶🏼
How long would these typically last?
Until you either infill them (in my case 3 weeks later) or remove them! Because of the natural base colour the grow off is virtually undetectable.
10/10
is this kind of nail polish can be removed by normal acetone?
Yes, 100% acetone on cotton covered in foil will break this down. Buff away the top coat first!
very nice
Thank you!
What are heat spikes , like bubbles?
Heat spikes are when the nail feels extremely hot all of a sudden and you feel the need to remove your hand from the lamp. It’s painful.
I need a qualification to use it on myself? Is that a thing?
It is with this brand but you can try brands such as Glossify! 🤗
can you do this with normal / any gel?
Hmm, I’ve not tried the ombré on generic gel but I’m SURE it would work, just make sure to remove the tacky layer first.
@@ShonaghScott i'll try it, thanks so much!
Que leeeeeento
How’s this “Baby Boomer”? A French manicure is a classic. My favorite kind
A french is different then a french ombre.. French ombre is considered baby boomer nails.
@@Gamermomma0825 just wondering why they call it baby boomer?
What was they mailed of the white gel?
It’s called White Pigment by Bio Sculpture.
@@ShonaghScott thanks so much.
Wow is this cool 🌺🫶👍😍🥰💐💐💐💐
Thank you!!
Wow❤😮😮😮😮😮
🫶🏼
nice
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
♥️
😍
Could you use a gel bottle polish white like Daisy to do the white, or another gel bottle product, as I don’t have access to bio sculpture gel?
It won’t yield the same result, that’s what I tried first too!
Supper
Please share white paint name
It’s in the description bar with a link.
🎉
Why is nail polish bad to pregnancy?
so confused after what youused after biab
I’ve linked all the products in the description bar in order of use.
👍
🫶🏼
I thought it was self levelling
It does self level but you still need to manipulate it so that it doesn’t pool in the side walls, and that the apex is more pronounced.
❤️👏👍
Thank you!
Can I ask why you don't do nails professionally anymore ? Was it just not being passionate or not making enough money? I'm asking you as I need some honesty as I'm thinking about starting a nail business:)
Being a makeup artist, often makeovers took the same sort of time as a mani but the money for nails compared to makeovers was no comparison. And after a few years the novelty of nails wore off and I decided I didn’t want to do it professionally anymore. That’s just me though :)
