I struggle with capping, especially on short natural nails. It would be wonderful if you would do a video dedicated to capping, with all the different techniques, with close up videos.
If you have your client turn their hand around and use a tiny tiny bit of gel and just barely go over the free edge it’ll cap it perfectly. If you do it the regular way of swiping at the free edge you run the risk of applying too much gel and it getting under the free edge. I learned this tip from Paula Ponce Nails channel. She has a video demonstrating this exact technique.

@@johnnvogt I watched the full video you recommended, and it's exactly what I've been seeking. Many thanks!
Absolutely gorgeous.
Love this! your attention to detail is superb! hard to find a good nail tech who cares as much as you do about your clients nails!
Beautiful
Simply BEAUTIFUL 💕
I Love this Design its so Natural and elegant ❤
Very elegant!! 💖
They are so beautiful! You're right. They're like her natural nails, but just a bit better. ❤ I absolutely love them! I bet she loved them as well.
Beautiful!!
Great video I will try this method!
this is beautiful!
the most beautiful baby boomer I've saw. You are perfect
Wow.. the nail was so beutiful. I’m your new subscriber btw.
Beautiful ❤
great idea!!
Beautiful 🥰💕
beautiful
Love this & can’t wait to try it! What white paint or gel polish do you use for traditional french? I’m on the hunt for that perfect self levelling, non yellowing, one coat gel paint.
I'm impressed by your work..soo beautiful...i'm having difficulty doing the french manicure on short nails..do you have any videos that would help me in my work...
You did amazing job. It's power the white?
Love it
Bit late to the party😂 love how these turned out, subscribed, very concise tutorial 💞
Do you recommend completing one nail at a time, or could I do one hand, going thru all the steps for each nail and then doing the second ombre/top coat on all five nails? So like, going thru each step on each nail? Or should I totally finish one nail and move onto the next?
Very pretty. I'm going to try the ombre with my dupping powder. I should get the same results.
Did this work? I can’t get the magpie powder since it’s only for pros. But, I saw a picture from a nail tech on IG that said she uses acrylic powder but wouldn’t reveal how she does it.
Can you use regular nail polish instead of gel?
Did you remove sticky layer before you went over gel with the file? Great video!❤💄👄💄👄💄👄
Hi what powder did you use for the ombre?
Do you have to warm up the gel first and if so how? My luminary is always so thick😥😥
Hi miss tine ang ganda mo ngaun..ingat ka lage en enjoy❤
You do beautiful work. I love watching your videos. How do you decide if you are going to use luminary or akzent products on a client?
Love this and all your tutorials.. I tried to do a similar version of this today. I did it on gel polish which was slightly more pink and used a white pigment from Amazon but the white hardly showed up using 2 coats.. do you think it was the pigment or did I do it on to pinky colour. Should I invest in a magpie pigment would that help.. thanks
It actually should show up even more on something more pink! It was probably the pigment ☺️
I love this look 😍. Do you need to use a matte coat before you apply the pigment or will it also work just over the colour? Also, have you used Erica's metal file and if so what did you think?
Thank you for sharing this appt with us 😊
If you don’t apply it over matte it can look kind of grainy/splotchy. I have used the metal file, I just prefer a regular one. ☺️
What’s the clear gel she used at the begening after the primer ?!
How can a power is it ? I have a lot of trouble to do ombré
Is the white a dust?
Hey. I'm from India... It's look so pretty. I love it. But i have 1 question that what's that white powder you apply in free adge area..what it called?Plz reply
Stupende
❤❤❤
With the clarity gel do you flash cure each finger so it doesn’t go into cuticles while doing other nails, then do full cure on all?
I do a full cure for each nail, one at a time. Luminary doesn’t cure as fast so it takes a little longer for it not to run ☺️
Hi, new subscriber here. I would like to see your best tips on how to get close to cuticles but not touch them with acrylic, gel, and polish. Also, how to cap the free edge to seal the nails polish without messing up the top coat of polish.
Did you do a full cure on the matte top coat or did you take a few seconds off of its cure?
good
Im just starting to try doing nails on my own, just wondering , what are the basic things i would need, Without spending a ton of money ? I would not know what plumle / electric file to use. If i really needed one. In just trying stage
Base coat, top coat, primer, builder gel, alcohol, acetone, lint free wipes, dust brush, curing lamp, cuticle pusher, cuticle nippers, files, buffers, nail gel brushes, nail colors, cuticle oil… just to name off a few things 😊
Please, I need help. How to avoid heat spikes?😳😳 Are they harmful?😳😳😳
Wauw
do you need to use matte top coat, or can you achieve this with a regular one?
It needs to be matter for it the pigment to stick to and it to look softly blended
What brush did you use for the magpie powder?
any fluffy brush will work, like an eyeshadow brush 😊 i believe it was this one bit.ly/3aP2XRW
What is a good substitute with the Magpie Come What May?
Any sheer pink gel polish will work ☺️ this one from Daily Charme is a similar shade dailycharme.com/collections/charme-gel/products/charme-gel-jelly-j03-garden-rose
I tried to do it but the texture doesn't look the same i don't know what I'm doing wrong
Hi! In your baby boomer tutorial didn't you use a coat of hard gel at one point is it not necessary if you top coat it twice?
Hmm I’m not sure which you’re referring to, but I don’t usually top coat it with hard gel ☺️ regular top coat x2 works great!
@@NailsByKatieDutra I might have been thinking about something else 😅 but okay! Thank you!
Another question! Lol If I use a luminary color instead of the clear could I use the luminary matte top coat?
Is the pigment a powder? Doesn't it wipe off when you apply the top coat ?
When i do my nails always lift(gelpolish) user?😄
Good prep is key! And make sure you’re following manufacture instructions ☺️
What I have noticed if you buff your nail then the gel will lift, you have to file it to give it a rough base that way the nail polish can hold to the nail. It wont hold on a smooth nail
How much would you charge for this?
This looks about $60?
It’s going to depend on your area, skills, and expenses. I charge $70 ☺️
Hi! I’m a new Subscriber I’m planning on going to nail school any tips?? How long does it take to learn I have so many questions sorry! But I love how you explain everything very nice!! Love her nails!
Hello! I’ve been a nail tech for 10 years. I just came out with a new video a few weeks ago sharing my top tips for beginners ☺️ ua-cam.com/video/jrEQrCcbF1c/v-deo.html
Super 👍 Bravo 👍 Amazing from Germany 🙋♀️🫶💐

Sorry that i accidentally clicked on the "thumb down" button instead of the "thumb up", but I changed it back to thumb up now after a night
So much more attractive than the talons that most young women sport these days!
I really think that’s up to each persons own taste 😉 I myself have worn these “talons” before because it’s fun and expresses creativity.
@@NailsByKatieDutra I guess you don't do any housework, do you, as talons would make that prohibitive. 😂
@@mariaes623 I do lots of housework 😂 you get used to them and learn how to work around them. It’s fine if it’s not your preference.
I thought “boomer nails” meant square nails?!? That was what was in style in the 90s
You might get this comment a lot, but I just found your channel and it's so great to find a nail tech who doesn't only have extra long nails!! Excited to watch more of your videos!
Thank you! Welcome to my channel ☺️ short to medium lengths are my favorite to do!
