Cheryl Reeves was put to shame in this All-Star game. She had chosen the best 12 WNBA players for the Olympic team but could not even beat a ragtag team of rejected WNBA players who had only one day to practice as a team while the Team USA had training camps. Cheryl Reeves was humiliated and her coaching reputation as a national team coach is now put into question. That is what she get for being arrogant and playing favoritism as a coach. The basketball community was laughing and celebrating Cheryl Reeves humiliation.
She didn't mind losing as long as CC didn't beat them. Have fun losing to Belgium

Reporter asks innocuous question. She snipes back a jabbing retort, "Are we versing Arike in the other teams, no", then says "we arent going to make excuses", immediately proceedes to make further excuses.
You blew this out of proportion lol. Nothing wrong with her answer.
reeves is a perfect example of how not to act. Be supportive and encouraging, not spiteful and run your show based on clicks and jealousy.
Her blaming the players is pathetic. She needs to read a book on leadership.
She needs to take lessons from CC 😂
Guarding Clark full court was her first mistake, all that Coach Reeve accomplished was opening up the court for the other players to beat team USA!

The softball questions lobbed at Reeve after the game are hilarious. Her 'Dream Team' just got their butts handed to them by players she ignored, and no one had the guts to call her out on it.

This team played nothing like theyre going to in the Olympics. They werent physical (bcuz its an ASG)

To anyone who thinks this team can be beaten..I promise you, theyd win gold if they just sent the Washington Mystics.
The Opals are also going to come on strong. Considering how they had some embarrassing showings, they're going to cone out with passion to do better.
They're stacked this year with how many Aussie women are on current WNBA rosters.
WNBA All Stars were too fast for team USA and they ran out of gas just trying to keep up with them. Coach Reeve focusing so much attention on rookie Caitlin Clark allowed the open all star players to cook and team USA had absolutely no answer for Arike Ogumbowale in the second half. Coach Reeve couldn’t adjust to the face pace of the All Star players.

They talk about different work cultures with old guys' club... Same here. Old girls' club with this coach leading the charge. Did she ever congratulate the other team or players? Answering that ? With a ? Is Arike on a team? Some baller in another country is gonna hear this and get inspired.

Everyone's equal, but only a select few are in the wild. Works great when things are well and they get united against outside forces. However, as times get hard, those on the outer layer are in more danger of being stripped away than the secure ones in the center.
Night & Day attitude difference with Coach Miller who is supportive and positive.

I thought they had all these camps and that is why rookies weren't included.....that 'muscle memory' should already be there for these seasoned players. Lots of excuses from a just really unlikable coach. By 2028 she'll be out.
Arike should be playing for Team USA but Team USA snubbed her. The excuse of people coming from other teams having to adjust doesn't hold water when Team WNBA had the same issues.
No great coach sits there and blames the players.

How do WNBA executives and employees make more that the players? The players are the product. They need to ride Caitlin Clark and on the next negotiations ask for a 50/50 split but this time with the PLAYERS getting 50.
The teams shell out big bucks to get quality coaches. Then, because they're the owners they can pay themselves whatever they want.

What an awful coach. Why would she double, play full court pressure on a player not worthy of being on team USA? CC is living in Cheryl's head rent free. I bet CC on the next Olympic team and hopefully that will be the last of Reeves. Awful coach just terrible
Exactly. Reeve could have won both this game and the Lynx/Fever game if she wasnt so focused on CC. She wanted to stop CC more than she wanted to win the game. And it shows
CC will definitely be there if she keeps this up.

I think the Future model of all WNBA All-Star game is going to be to beat the USA team to prove the point that there are so many Stellar players in the league. I don't think anything makes it more clear than that and I hope it makes it more difficult for coaches and selection teams like this to play politics in the future

By the looks of it we’re sending the wrong team to Paris, the better team and coach won last night.
Reeves strategy was horrendous. CC was not doing well in shooting but instead Reeves decides to double and triple team CC even on full court and meanwhile Arike burns them. I'm a Fever fan and wanted team WNBA to win but TEAM USA probably would have faired better despite Arikes 34 points. Dumb strategy Reeves.

She's a great coach and not a nice person. Both things can be true. I am firmly Team USA (and LOVE CC) despite her arrogance and rudeness. I am not going to abandoned the team because of her.

They lost the gold medal in 2006 to Austrailia. They will win if they keep up their best, but other teams have gotten better and will capitalize if they play like this.

Caitlin had a bad game. People need to stop being hypocrites with double standards. Didn’t she shoot less than 20% from the field? If Angel did that you’d see all sorts of memes about her and CC Stans making videos of her misses on a loop, but when Caitlin does it, she’s the rookie of the year and the greatest of all time. Come on, man.
she broke another assist record. also being double and triple teamed. focusing to her on her is probably a big reason this game went the way it did. I was sitting here doing the LMAO for the whole game.
CC actually said that she might stick to passing because she's so good at that and when her coach said to go in to replace Arika, she said she'd rather pass to her. And, btw, Angel is good, but she's not at CC's caliber.

@@amythompson6431 That is absurd to say that she’s not on CC’s caliber. She had a better game last night and she played better throughout the month of June. CC has played better in July but we’ll see what happens for the rest of the year. Angel rises to the occasion under the bright lights. Caitlin does not, so she’s not up to Angel’s caliber.
