49:10 I mean it's a mix of beatdown which is a sub genre of hardcore punk and slam which is a sub genre of death metal so it's technically deathcore. I'm also into this kind of hybrid sound. Bands like Enemy 906, Bashed In, Corpse Pile, Sawnoff, Dead Upon Arrival come to mind. Prefer this sound all day over the millionth symphonic deathcore Lorna Shore copycat band.
The hate goes both ways deathcore fans hating death metal and death metal fans hating deathcore which to me is just dumb as fuck cause I grew up on rap/hiphop, extreme metal, death metal, nu metal and core music
52:30 he's spot on with what he said. 9:58 This is funny to me lol did this really happen so much? Can you make a video about what he described the reddit era of deathcore? 18:55 HAHAHAHAHAHA!
I think what turned off a lot of the old heads when modern metalcore arose was the ''scene'' emo inspired fashion and the fact that ''metalcore'' was already an existing genre aka ''cross-over''. It really was confusing watching it all unfold. You had these kids playing Death Metal riffs and calling themselves ''Hardcore'' yet they weren't at all fans of Death Metal or Hardcore Punk.
As a parent to gen Z and alpha kids, I'm doing my part to introduce them to metal. No Taylor Swift allowed in the carpool on the way to school. Lorna Shore is at the top of the playlist. Gotta raise the kids right 😊.
@@lancerknowsfirst6412 Well dad plays the same music and my kids love it. They're jealous they don't get to go with us to the Lorna Shore concert. General admission + school night + 4 hours away = not this time 13 and 10 year old. They go to plenty of concerts.
Thanks for having me!
