Finally got my hands on mine today and you were right, by golly you were right. This toy is so good. Not only is the transformation more addicting than drugs, but the thing feels and looks so satisfying that it hardly feels real. 7:46 just spin the repair drone’s head around and you have a pretty cool giraffe-rover thing! I did this just out of boredom and it seems like a more expressive roller.
But I've always said the other is bad. It's got Terrible QC, with sloppy paint, it's got over over OVER long legs. The poseability is bad, the leg transformation is lame, the sculpting is a mess, the head is stolen from a figure who did the head better. It's just mid at best.
I´d sacrifice a goat to see you throw ER Cliffjumper at ER´s Optimus Prime. And he did light the darkest hour once... in TF:One. Cogs and Energon for everyone!
11:53 The Little gap you see fits much better after a few transformations seems like the truck bed tabs, tab into the back of the cab more snugly after a few transformations
Someone did suggest sanding down some tabs to me to make that better so that could be part of whats making it, and repeated transformations probably wear them down a bit.
Okay, real quick how, I think the matrix of leadership would work whenever he needs to. Light the darkest hour, he can summon one of the thirteen primes, like their spark or their code or whatever. To give Them a little help, whether that be advice or helping out in the actual fight like a little confidence boost
0:16 im just reminded of this one line from toy freddy in UCN while reading this part. Where he whines about not being able to press the buttons. Which was...6 years ago.(You are not alone in feeling old.) But as to where the figure is concerned, while I don't find this justifies commander class, I can't deny the quality of this thing. Definitely figure of the year.
I love this guy. The only Studio Series figures I like more are the ROTF Devastator and the 86 Devastator, and they're both combiners, so this is the perfect Studio Series figure to me. Also, as a DOTM fan, Sentinel gives the matrix back in the same scene since he's unfamiliar with Earth compared to Optimus in a "student becomes the teacher" way, though it just disappears afterwards so I don't blame you for thinking Sentinel has it for the rest of the film.
I've always thought the Earthrise mold was ugly as shit with its BBL and Urkel pants waistline. Not that i like Seige much better, but if i had to choose, i would pick a backpack over a phat ass
I like the look of the Siege A TOOOOON more, the legs are at least in the correct proportions, though the sleeves are frustratingly baggy at the elbows.
For anyone that hasn't messed with this guy the best aspect of him isn't able to be conveyed in video: his weight and density. He doesn't feel hollow or cheap, he feels like he's worth the money paid for him. Its very jarring compared to Reactivate Prime who's only slightly shorter than him but feels like he weighs half as much
My copy unfortunately has loose outward hip movement, but that is hardly an issue because the very first time I handled this thing I went “oh YEAH baby and this does this, and oh my god this can do *that*??? HELL yeah”
"Hits me in the childhood" Well said. That is exactly what I feel. So happy I have this figure, it is everything I hoped. Always room for improvement but damn good.
I mean if this had better elbows, and knees, and a more characterful headsculpt, there wouldn't really be much more to ask for. But I'm glad you are enjoying this thing like me.

Epic review PerspectiveEnd!! The SS86 Optimus Prime has become the greatest Optimus Prime figure of the entire year of 2024!! :D Keep on being amazing.
@@PerspectiveEnd I've added seven Optimus Prime figures to my collection this year, SS86 Optimus Prime, Legacy Animated Optimus Prime, Legacy deluxe G1 Prime, VNR Volvo Prime, Target store Prime, Missing Link Prime, and TF ONE Robot Battlers Optimus Prime. lol
As much as I still love the Siege figure and it's cyberpunk aesthetic, this scratches my itch for a CHUG earth mode Optimus in my collection; despite some minor flaws and all. I might get this one. Still better than Earthrise in any shape or form imo, even with the flat Sunbow design.
I totally get why this is hitting the target better than absolutely everyone. And yeah for sure this is the one to get over the ER. I think you will love it.
As someone who regularly sees trucks IRL around my workplace, I'm glad the truck and trailer actually looks like a proper truck and trailer, unlike no-$#!%s-given truck mode of the ER that never looked good besides from the front.
i love the back pack love the arms love the body and back pack looks fitting. just look at the feet. number 1 thing about prime is its so hard to fid one with good feet and ankles
I swear, two commander class Optimus prime’s and both are absolutely amazing, I will need to get this along with armada prime Also, I am really sick of people saying that the “foot issue” is a major problem and a thing that ruins the figure, when it doesn’t, and is minor at best.
No way perspective end on my feed again after a year! I recentiy just got this figure and hes fantastic. Its a shame they didn't use him for devastation prime because THAT FIGURE... ugh certainly is an Optimus prime figure from devastation!
Do you think they will do either a damaged version of a “dead” grey version? I mean they are doing a dying rachet ironhide brawl and prowl Oh hey look at that you can re created the scene where optimus uses his shoulder stacks to shot fire at megatron
I wouldn't be too surprised, though they might be like "You have the Spoilers ER version for that." And I suppose you can, if you can ignore how different this guy looks.
Correction #1. The pipes are required to move for transformation. Correction #2. The med bay bot was shown in at least 1 scene in the original cartoon. Even though it was used in combat, and not medical, it's still th same bot.
Counterpoint 1 That's not necessary, the arm can swivel where it needs to go without disturbing the pipes. Counterpoint 2 actually some people have shared shots with me of it getting used several times, it just NEVER looked like it was supposed to. Always being EXTREMELY off model.
It’s definitely NOT a simple rehash of the MP-10 head sculpt. The faceplate is different (points up like the animation), corners of the helmet are different, crown of the helmet has different geometry. It’s heavily tweaked if anything not “literally just shrunk down”. It’s definitely closer to the movie than the Christmas one lol
I could not disagree more. No it's not changed. It even has the same little extra details that aren't supposed to be there. The most different part of this is just how the cheek pieces of the helmet hang.
I don't think earthrise prime is really that bad, I think it's pretty good, it's just not as good as siege or the studio series. It's like a 7.5 or an 8, where the other twos are 9.5s. I was a little worried about this guy because a lot of videos made him look worse than he actually is, most notably his head looked really tiny in comparison to everything else, but in hand he looks perfect. My only real complaint is that he doesn't have a neck like the siege prime, which is kind of a goofy thing to complain about, but that was one of the few things that made that figure look so incredible, just that little extra detail. Past that he has a great alt mode, a fun and complex transformation, and a really good robot mode. Sure, he does have a backpack, but like man I don't care, it's not a deal breaker at all. Comparing this dude to studio series Bumblebee is like night and day. One of which looks so perfect, and then the other is like fifty percent accurate ( not a terrible toy mind you, I think it's the second best bumblebee ever made, it just is that big of a quality difference).
I've been saying for ever that thing isn't so good, if I were to give it a number rating it'd probably be like a 5. Articulation is pretty basic by modern standards, the look is like a 4 thanks to the messed up proportions, the transformation is like a 7, and then the altmode is like a 5 because of the gaps and the back half. So I guess like a 5.5 or something. Interesting. I didn't notice anyone making his head look small. In person it almost looks too big. Like it's right on the edge of being the right size. And yeah people getting really bent out of shape over the Backpack is super silly.
I mean about this size, I don't think he should really be bigger or smaller, if you are asking what Size Class, I think Megs really only needs to be a leader to fit here, cause he can't come with stuff to make commander justified.
@@PerspectiveEnd I remember a designer or a leak actually already confirmed it will be a leader class figure~ but my memory is a bit fuzzy on that one
@PerspectiveEnd I could agree with tf one, and I'm just saying here, making unicron nap for a while did kinda stop the earth from getting destroyed but yea I can see why I'm wrong too
I love this figure, so much, but I wonder if it's accurate to describe it as a 86 Optimus, If you ask me it works much better as a sky bound Optimus. The larger than average backpack, the the more complex and semi unorthodox transformation, even the alt mode which has so much realistic detailing that wasn't there either in the movie or the cartoon, really remind me of that comic's depiction of Optimus.
I would not say it's more accurate no, because Famously the Skybound comic actually uses the Magic Square 2.0 Optimus prime as it's posing reference. So that is actually exactly the figure that is the Skybound one.
The great soundwave has some advice for the butterfly joints in the robot mode: To make using the butterfly joints easier, open the backpack, then tilt the arm back on the transformation joint, then forward on the actual butterfly joint, then cut or shave off the tabs on the top It makes using the butterfly joints a lot smoother. Also, o na side note, I’ve noticed a difference between the heads of mp10 and the ss86 prime (aside from the ears), that being the mouth plate is slanted upwards like in the movie instead of it slanting down like on the mp10. It’s a minor difference, but it is one that brings the accuracy to the movie design for Optimus a bit closer.
Hey that's one of my Subscribers. A What actually helps way more than that, which someone else told me is to push down on the shoulders from the tops. That makes em pop out like nothing. I don't notice the mouthplate so much, but the sides of the cheek guards also seem to have had some resculpting.
@ huh. Didn’t notice that detail before. Speaking of pushing for ease, I think if you push outwards on the ends of the windshields on the front, they could open up easier as well. I don’t have the figure, but I think it might help out a little.
Mine has the rear bumper issue where it's super hard to open the little compartment. I sanded the center tab a little bit (didn't help), and found out that entire piece is painted. It's actually blue ABS.
When you told me on dis that this would be out on Sunday. The second i woke up i checked my phone and waited for 5 grueling minutes waiting for this video
I had the same problem on my forwards butterfly, all you need to do is push the joint down and pull it out and it works normally, the reason its so tight is because there's a tab keeping it in place.
The Med-bay robot did appear in 2 episodes. But didn't really get much use other than shooting. Agreed that this is the best CHUG G1 Optimus out there.
This Optimus is incredible, and I don't regret a single cent paying to have this. I love this figure so much, that I'm more than willing to buy a Nemesis Prime recolor of it. If SS86 Optimus had elbows that bent more, more head movement without cheating, and upward movement on his feet, it would be perfect in my eyes. Also, not gonna lie, my favourite of this entire review was how much enjoyment you got out of comparing this with the Earthrise Optimus. It just makes Earthrise look damn bad. lol
@ Devestation Optimus (which should technically be part of the Gamer Edition line) is neat as a bright and vibrant version of the character for those on a budget, but I absolutely agree that SS86 Optimus with that stylized shading and details from the game would look fantastic.
Outside of a handful of QC issues I had (besides the heel thing, mine's head came messed up out of the package and his left hip is a little lose), this is almost the perfect toy with only one major design flaw in the form of him having double light headlights as opposed to the screen accurate single light headlights
@PerspectiveEnd the front part wasn't pegged in properly during the manufacturing process and as a result somehow bent outward. It gave me an excuse to pick up one of the third party heads though so I don't really mind lmao
Totally agree that 86 is superior to earthrise ! I don’t get why people like the earthrise it actually looks terrible ( fir me atleast I want screen accuracy most)
I’m almost 90 percent sure there is like 1 single shot in g1 where his trailer actually opens up to use the tower to shoot someone and then it’s never seen again
There is, and it looked absolutely nothing like the Medbay robot, but I do realize now that others have pointed it out, that's what it's supposed to be.
That was the most deserved screw you I was right speach I've heard all year. Anyway I'm moving soon so I'm holding off opening him until I'm at my new play, glad i have something to look forward to.

Optiumus used the Matrix at the end of Season 3 when he got revived, he had to use it to stop the Cybertronian Corona Virus from infecting everything. One of the few episodes from S3 that I have seen.
And it's one of the MANY S3 Episodes I have not seen my self.
I did the foot fix and nearly broke the damn toy.
Completely worth it, my brain hurt to look at them upside down.
I can kind of get it, but I'm happy not breaking my figure to fix something that's barely noticeable.
"Masterpiece isn't really good enough for this fogure" - in the end, only one description can apply: Optimus Prime.
We should lowkey get another what’s the best Optimus Prime
I have been planning that for a long time.
@ oh boy now I’m excited
Either the Missing Link or the MP-10.
There- I just saved you the wait and PE the trouble of making yet another objectively-wrong Best Prime video. You can thank me by giving consideration to the idea of a Christmas Roast-A-Mans, assuming one wasn't in the works already.
Finally got my hands on mine today and you were right, by golly you were right. This toy is so good. Not only is the transformation more addicting than drugs, but the thing feels and looks so satisfying that it hardly feels real.
If this is planned to become obsolete in 10 years, than i don't envy whoever is put in charge of the next attempt. (And yes it is planned to be obsolete in 10 years, that's how capitalism works)
Oh so thats why the head feels familiar, also i agree with the vehicle mode is like TF Devastation model
4:15 "Ohhh yeah! Like that, baby! Mmm, yeah, come on,, Light my darkest hour!"
I hate you 😂
7:46 just spin the repair drone’s head around and you have a pretty cool giraffe-rover thing! I did this just out of boredom and it seems like a more expressive roller.
1:58 one figure being better doesn't make the lesser one necessarily bad 😞
But I've always said the other is bad. It's got Terrible QC, with sloppy paint, it's got over over OVER long legs. The poseability is bad, the leg transformation is lame, the sculpting is a mess, the head is stolen from a figure who did the head better.
It's just mid at best.
@@PerspectiveEnd we can agree to disagree, it's one of the best in my collection but granted probably due to better QC
I´d sacrifice a goat to see you throw ER Cliffjumper at ER´s Optimus Prime.
And he did light the darkest hour once... in TF:One. Cogs and Energon for everyone!
I love that you can fit the little Prime you hate inside the trailer in truck mode. Shows just how small he really is.
Absolutely. I should have done that for the video but I totally forgot to.
To the people who say the ER Prime is better, i disrespectfully disagree
And I agree with that sentiment.
0:16 im just reminded of this one line from toy freddy in UCN while reading this part. Where he whines about not being able to press the buttons. Which was...6 years ago.(You are not alone in feeling old.)
But as to where the figure is concerned, while I don't find this justifies commander class, I can't deny the quality of this thing. Definitely figure of the year.
What is UCN?
I can say that it does feel like it's worth 30 Dollars more than the ER at least.
@@PerspectiveEnd ultimate custom night its a reference, don't think too much on it
I love this guy.
8:37 that's...actually a really cool theory...
5:51 Plus you can replicate the Smokestack flamethrowers from Transformers One.
I mean yeah, but it's still an annoying gimmick.
0:47 - Oh wow I really am out of the loop on recent Transformers figure releases I thought this was gonna be a review of MP-44 Optimus....
People say that the Earthrise is better…. I respectfully disagree.
Yeah I disrespectfully disagree. Those people are insane.
5 year old me just traveled through time to want this even more
It brings out the child in all of us.
For anyone that hasn't messed with this guy the best aspect of him isn't able to be conveyed in video: his weight and density. He doesn't feel hollow or cheap, he feels like he's worth the money paid for him. Its very jarring compared to Reactivate Prime who's only slightly shorter than him but feels like he weighs half as much
I mean I did call him Hand Candy, which that is an aspect of that for sure.
Yeah when I first got him in-hand I described him as a brick (in the good way).
My copy unfortunately has loose outward hip movement, but that is hardly an issue because the very first time I handled this thing I went “oh YEAH baby and this does this, and oh my god this can do *that*??? HELL yeah”
That's really unfortunate, but at least the rest of the package is good enough to overcome that.
I love this channel because they can find vey single possible issue with a toy
constantly adjusting the smoke stacks is a pain, but it's only really noticeable cos the rest of him is so good.
Similarly compared to this ss86. I got 25th anniversary p-bandai sh figuarts ultraman tiga. That brought my childhood to life.
G1 episode where Prime literally splits into all three components with his 'tower' ... when Megs corrupted their personalities from a tampered with rejuvenation chamber(season 2)...G1, the ultimate toy commercial... never question it lol
I don't remember that episode, but it seems that I'm proven wrong.
@@PerspectiveEnd it's all good man... tbh there is only like 5 Memorable G1 episodes...the rest is a bad Regan-omics fever dream... I'm still waiting on the media fiction that combines the art aesthetics of G1/Diaclone super robot designs and the writing depth of BestWars... TF One gotta' kinda close...kinda'
I really hate how its just the same small matrix again so i like to display my optimus holding the potp matrix
Glad I'm not the only one. The potp matrix perfectly fits in his hands and looks awesome
He really needed a bigger one to fit his hands.
Epic review PerspectiveEnd!! The SS86 Optimus Prime has become the greatest Optimus Prime figure of the entire year of 2024!! :D Keep on being amazing.
Oh for sure, but it's not like he's got a lot of competition this year for the best Optimus. Like what else is there, the Missing Link at Home?
Yes! Bring back big chunky Optimus. I feel like sponge bob without water, “I neeeeeeed it”.
god he just looks SO GOOD!!! Seriously, this might be the best CHUG Optimus we’ve gotten in the last 10 years.
I think it's the best CHUG Optimus we've gotten... End of statement.
All people who prefer the earthrise version over this must be stopped, no matter the cost.
Ba ba ba baaaaaaaaaa
You got the touch
I do love that his trailer doesn't have the awful back wheels of earthrise.
As someone who regularly sees trucks IRL around my workplace, I'm glad the truck and trailer actually looks like a proper truck and trailer, unlike no-$#!%s-given truck mode of the ER that never looked good besides from the front.
He lit our darkest hour a few times in cyberverse, another reason why you need to watch it
I can't stop re-watching this lol
I'm glad to year that you are enjoying it so much.
It's always such a good day when PerspectiveEnd is happy with a figure
I'm usually happy with them. though not recently.
i love the back pack love the arms love the body and back pack looks fitting. just look at the feet. number 1 thing about prime is its so hard to fid one with good feet and ankles
I think the Siege did fine on the feet, but yes these are definitely better by a good margin.
I think this should be part of a new Praise-a-Mans segment. It’s like a vitamin, but for joy.
I swear, two commander class Optimus prime’s and both are absolutely amazing, I will need to get this along with armada prime
Also, I am really sick of people saying that the “foot issue” is a major problem and a thing that ruins the figure, when it doesn’t, and is minor at best.
4:14 he did in TFPrime during the fight with Unicron in season 1, so he has at *least* once.
I have waited for so long for this and MAN you didn't dissappoint!
DAMNIT YOU'RE REALLY MAKING ME WANT THIS
You should. It's very satisfying.
Optimus did use the matrix once but that was the last episode of season 3 of G1
No one watched season 3.
@PerspectiveEnd fair but he did use it once
No way perspective end on my feed again after a year!
I recentiy just got this figure and hes fantastic. Its a shame they didn't use him for devastation prime because THAT FIGURE... ugh certainly is an Optimus prime figure from devastation!
Do you think they will do either a damaged version of a “dead” grey version?
I mean they are doing a dying rachet ironhide brawl and prowl
Oh hey look at that you can re created the scene where optimus uses his shoulder stacks to shot fire at megatron
I wouldn't be too surprised, though they might be like "You have the Spoilers ER version for that."
And I suppose you can, if you can ignore how different this guy looks.
I got this figure last week and I absolutely love it. Easy figure it of the year for me. Nothing is topping this. Absolutely glorious.
It'll be up there for me as well.
How big should 86 Megatron be in order to scale well with this figure?
I mean about this size, I don't think he should really be bigger or smaller, if you are asking what Size Class, I think Megs really only needs to be a leader to fit here, cause he can't come with stuff to make commander justified.
@@PerspectiveEnd Cool, thanks!
@@PerspectiveEnd I remember a designer or a leak actually already confirmed it will be a leader class figure~ but my memory is a bit fuzzy on that one
4:15 tfp when optimus saved earth from unicron
Tf one when optimus rejuvenated cybertron
I don't think that counts in TFOne, and making Unicron Nap more isn't really a worthy Lighting of the Darkest hour.
The great soundwave has some advice for the butterfly joints in the robot mode:
To make using the butterfly joints easier, open the backpack, then tilt the arm back on the transformation joint, then forward on the actual butterfly joint, then cut or shave off the tabs on the top
It makes using the butterfly joints a lot smoother.
What actually helps way more than that, which someone else told me is to push down on the shoulders from the tops.
That's an impressive paint job they hit it with, and yeah it's a real pain in the balls to get open normally.
When you told me on dis that this would be out on Sunday. The second i woke up i checked my phone and waited for 5 grueling minutes waiting for this video
11:33 who’s gonna tell him about cube world toys from redica, it’s all cubes. Actually they’re more than just cubes
I had the same problem on my forwards butterfly, all you need to do is push the joint down and pull it out and it works normally, the reason its so tight is because there's a tab keeping it in place.
Someone else pointed that out, and yeah it works SOOOOOO much better.
It just makes Earthrise look damn bad. lol
If only they made the Devastation figure a Recolor of this.
It does feel great to be vindicated.
How was your's head messed up? Glad it didn't manage to ruin it for you.
@PerspectiveEnd the front part wasn't pegged in properly during the manufacturing process and as a result somehow bent outward. It gave me an excuse to pick up one of the third party heads though so I don't really mind lmao
Totally agree that 86 is superior to earthrise ! I don’t get why people like the earthrise it actually looks terrible ( fir me atleast I want screen accuracy most)
I've never understood it my self, but I can't tell you the number of times I've been called an idiot for not liking it.
The medbay robot does show up in a couple g1 eps, there’s also a weird roller/medbay bit fusion in one episode
That was the most deserved screw you I was right speach I've heard all year.
Anyway I'm moving soon so I'm holding off opening him until I'm at my new play, glad i have something to look forward to.
The problem ive always had with the MP line is they never feel like toys and because of that they lack fun
From what I've seen of them they (especially the later ones) feel more like transfromable anime statues.
I think the medbay robot actually did appear in a episode of the cartoon i think it was in the evil autobot episode
A couple it turns out, though the design was always EXTREMELY off model.
Listening to your review made me genuinely happy for you ❤. I can’t wait to get mine!
You didn’t show the antenna gimmick
The fact that they swivel? That's not so much as a gimmick as it is a transformation joint.
@ wait really hmm strange I assume was due to clearance allowing for the head to be concealed
