hey, is there a noticeable improvement in sound quality between pc realtek chip and the Fiio K3 with the HD560S? i have the same headphones and im trying to find out if it is worth the extra investment. thanks
I have a galaxy s23 ultra and when plug this DAC in my phone notification saying this usb isn't supported. I tried turning on usb debugging that didn't work. Is anyone else having that problem or any work around this issue. Thanks
Unfortunately, Samsung phones are well-known for having issues with USB Audio. What is really curious, some models works ok, others don't. And sometimes even different phones from one model shows difference in behaviour I didn't dig this topic, but I've seen some discussions about that on head-fi
I have the fiio k3 v2. On PC it works perfectly with the recent drivers. But on Android phones there is a lot of pop in the audio and I don't know how to solve it.
I don't have Android phones, but as far as I remember, it worked ok with FiiO M11something. So, you can try another phone, another cable, another player app to understand what's going on
I'll recommend almost all pairings. Main question is that K3S is a bit warmer, and it will slightly add this coloration to Kato. If you like this, then it'll be a great pair
I didn't test Helix, but hypothetically it should work, if player can output optical, it will receiver it. S/PDIF is a standard interface. But I can't recall modern DAPs with optical out, usually it's coaxial
I don't think that Q3 will be the best option here. FiiO announced new K7 DAC/amp, in terms of specs and price it looks like a great option But it's just my assumption

@@matusjurcik6974 actually, main choice criteria here is a subjective preference. they offer a 3 different sound options :) S9 Pro is dry-neutral, UA2 is warm and weighty, and K3S is somewhere in between, closer to natural signature

Have you tried the Topping DX3 Pro+? Curious how it compares to this, not many DAC/AMP units have 2.5mm balanced out, this was the reason this DAC was recommended to me
Will this DAC/AMP power Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250 ohms well and sufficiently? Or should I stick to 80 ohms to get more sonically out of the headphones?
I use these with my IEMs, I notice some static in the left channel when using both balanced and unbalanced input. Not sure if my IEMs are just really sensitive or if I got a faulty unit.
Also, are you sure you have the new K3 instead of the classic one? The classic one has a much higher noise floor and that was vastly improved with the new K3 (sometimes called K3s)

It's better, but difference isn't huge. But audible. I suspect it's due to less restrictions in terms of power for K3

I didn't do exact measurements, but roughly, KA3 isn't better in terms of consumption

they are different in representation with BTR5 being more neutral and monitoring
so it's a matter of your preferences in sound first of all

80 ohms will be ok, 250 - not sure, could be also ok, but needs to be tested in practice

I have a really slight hum with a super-sensitive IEMs, but it's in both channels, and is barely noticeable
