Real German gingerbread is much stronger and is a bit different than American made gingerbread. If you are not used to it and were expecting a much milder version, you WILL be surprised. I love it… but then again I’m German!
I am a weekly Aldi shopper, and I love Aldi. Their stollen is very good. A year or two ago after Christmas I found their stollen marked down to .69 cents each! I bought a bunch, I think 4-5, and stuck them in the freezer. I ate off them for quite awhile! They froze great.
Thank you Emmy and Paul! Dollar Tree sells boxes of glue dots that work amazingly well attaching various items together for gift baskets/boxes to stabilize items like small jam jars, etc. Blessings!
It’s a pleasure for me to see your reaction of eating Dominoes. 😁 I live in Europe, Austria. ALDI is our local shop, it is called here Hofer. We have all these sweet treats every Christmas season. I adore Stolen with marzipan. Gingerbread cookies are everywhere now in the middle of November in our shops. I’m not Austrian, but I like the tradition here. You created wonderful presents and it was a great inspiration for me! Thank you!
You guys have fun no matter what you do! Love the test testing 🤣🤣🤣 Love this video! No, you did not spend to much. The gifts are beautiful! Thanks for a wonderful video!
Aldi is our number one store. We don’t have any of the others you shop. Love these ideas! If you see the maple leaf cream cookies, get them! Valerie in SC
Such a fun, thoughtful vlog. Emmy ,Paul you are amazing! Those things you taste tested.. I noticed that it was a very big pack, maybe you could put 6 of them in little bags tied with a cute ribbon in with the other gifts? If they are a touch too sweet for you it would be a good way of using them up!!! Have a lovely week,See you next time! xx
These are great gift ideas! You can save alot of money by breaking up boxes of multiple items. After Christmas every year I go to Target, Walmart, Hobby Lobby and my grocery stores to look for clearance Christmas items. I love giving a little gift to some of my neighbors. Your video shows that you don't have to spend alot to give a beautiful gift!
We love Aldi. We have 6 in our area. Before thanksgiving they lower prices on items that you might need for your dinner. I always stock up on these items. As for the German treats, we love them.
Such a fun and help video Emmy and Paul. I was struggling with frugal gift ideas and this video helped me to open my mind and think outside the box. Emmy, I have to say that you expression after your first bite of the dominoe looked like you were thinking “what is this?!” LOL You remind me of myself, my facial expression always tells on me…LOL
Thank you for all your time and creativity in showing how you can easily put together frugal, useful and delicious gifts during the pricey holidays. I personally would love receiving any of these. God gave us all of our senses so Paul was using one of his on the Dominoes. Dixiebelle would be proud😂
How refreshing to see you guys .such happy joyous souls .i love to come across your channel .hope you and your lovely family are well .such nice gifts .im sure family and friends or neighbours are going to love them x
I am a German native viewer living in Tx. We have Aldi all around us and I love their German products since they remind me of home. Dominoes aren’t my personal favorites but I do love their Stollen and Spekulatius, those buttery cookies
There is an Aldi close to me. The only thing I bought when I was there recently was Panettone. I have tried their Christmas treats. They are very good quality. I think you did a wonderful job putting together the gifts.(World Market also has those types of treats as well.) When I ran out of containers for my homemade cookies one year i just wrapped them in foil and put them in a gift bag with tissue😊.
Love your holiday gifts ideas especially when they can use the plate or pouch over . Love Aldi but I have never had these treats . If I could do the same idea for a Thanksgiving hostess idea
I am a regular shopper at Aldi. I enjoyed your video and the selection of items you purchased for gifts. I make baskets like that for my mom all the time. Great job Paul and Emmy! I get most of my meet at Aldi when they have 50% stickers attached. I bring it home and freeze until ready to use. I get such great deals.
I've stopped at Aldi for yrs ever since they came to my town. I have to check out the Stollen and the butter cookie like treats. I always enjoy shopping there.
Oh Emmy and Paul what a wonderful video and fun haul!! It was great seeing both of you at the end trying something new! I miss being around for the live chats but will again in January. Those gift basket ideas are inspiring, thank you!
Great gift ideas to have on hand . Perfect for friends that you want to exchange a thoughtful greeting for the Holidays. Thanks for some great ideas for gifts and for beautiful wrapping.
You guys should have taste tested the butter speculatius. They are the best store bought cookie I have ever had. We wait every year for them and grab about 10 bags which we hoard and savor. Perfection with a cup of tea! We have been lucky enough to have had access to an Aldi for our entire marriage - 50 years. They are our favorite store.
the spiced (gewurz) speculatius are really good too. My family would buy many, many (did I say many?) bags over the holidays and enjoy them with coffee or tea all winter long.
First of all thanks for the gift of the two of you ! What a handsome couple !!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I love your Aldi haul and the beautiful presentation of those Christmas gifts. You have inspired and motivated all of us for the coming Season. Lots of love from a sunny Saturday in Torbay, North Shore, Auckland, New Zealand
Love this video!! I've been buying the bag of foil wrapped chocolate ornaments for my grand kids for a few years now. It's become a tradition that I hang them on the tree. They look forward to it every year. I've actually had trouble finding them this year in the aldi stoes around where I live. I still have time though. Lol great gift ideas. Thanks!
What a fun idea for gifts. Loved the Paul approved items 😊 I have often seen Christmas tins and containers in charity shops and have not given them a second thought. You have changed my mind about them and will be looking to start collecting them. May God bless you and keep you safe, Paul , Emmy, and all you subscribers. From Leicester England ❤😊xx
Use double sided tape the good kind to stick things together just a small piece. With the cookie one add instant coco packets or coffee, add a few of those chocolate spoon or swirls sticks, just tuck them in there.
I hadn't seen the gifts but I sure will look my next trip. I had my brother too buy 2 Turkey's too can the meat in broth and bone broth. It was a deal at aldi's $1.07 lb. I'm canning for half. And he brought bags of apples for apple sauce, apple butter and pie filling.
What a fun video Emmy & Paul! Such a great idea for a video! Thank you for showing us your haul, and it was really helpful to see all the gifts you were able to put together from it. Amazing! You are both just such lovely people and I'm so glad that I ever came across your channel. I hope you both have a wonderful week. May God greatly bless you. ❤
I’m not even done with the video but I’m chuckling because we have some of your Aldi haul items in our pantry now to enjoy over the holidays. We are fortunate to have four Aldis near us. The fruit spreads are delicious, the crackers better than name brand, in our opinion and the butter cookies sweet and delicate. The regular windmill cookies are fabulous, too. One thing I highly recommend and suggest is the Aldi chocolate truffles. If you go back and they are in stock, get a few boxes. The best. I’ve given them as gifts before and no one believes how darn good they are.
awesome thank you so much for doing this type of video now instead of near xmas things have been tight so this is what i need to watch so i could get going and start Christmas shopping lie this .
When my kids were young I would bake cookies and give a half a dozen to each of their teachers, including electives. The teachers loved them so much they would joke about eating another’s teachers cookies if they were absent that day.😜 I would give out to adult family members my Great Great Aunt’s sugar cookies. We had many different cookie cutters and the kids enjoyed making them with me.
Wonderful ideas! I picked up a couple of Christmas mugs at a local thrift shop. I believe I paid $.80 for them. They will be going to friends along with a homemade hot cocoa mix. Total cost for one gift is a little over $2.
Hi Emmy & Paul! I love Aldi’s Christmas treats and the presentation of your gifts were beautiful! My German friend and neighbor used to slice the stollen and put some on her cookie trays . I bought some too today! But u scored. Didn’t see the other stuff u got. The Churros are delicious very light and airy, not like real churros. U could easily eat the bag between the 3 of you. Great video. Thank you.💗
Oh Emmy, this video is so lovely and funny. As you know I live in Germany and Aldi is my favourite supermarket. All things you showed we can buy from September til December. And thank you for pronounce spakulatius so lovely😅😅. I need to laugh so much at the moment. Send you much, much love and a big hug to you.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great ideas. They remind me of Swiss Colony gift boxes. Do you like Applets & Cotlets ? My dad loved those. They are pretty good. I have tried fruit cake but not stollen. Love seeing you guys both on camera at the same time. You should do it more often. 😊
What fun! That was definitely a great haul. Yes, the domino stones, lol, you either like them or hate them. I like them, it's a seasonal treat in Germany. With a nice cup of coffee it balances out the sweetness. In case you go back and they have the spicy spekulatius (Gewürzspekulatius), I recommend them. Aldi is good value for money for sure.
Aldi is the best. Their regular groceries are a great value and the imported specialty holiday items are so much fun. The only thing I would caution on is their produce. Only buy what you're going to use within a day or two - it doesn't seem to have the shelf life of regular grocery store produce.
Hi Paul and Emmy! Wow some great gift ideas for Christmas. I am fortunate in my city to have two Aldi stores. Not only do they have great food sales but their non food isles have some outstanding prices . I have gotten some great finds over the years that have been very good quality. ❤
The coockies are easier pronounced in dutch...spekulaas...and it is a gingercoockie as you eat at christmas but differs somewhat in spices..you do the same as I do..great gifts! Greetings from Sweden🇸🇪
Real German gingerbread is much stronger and is a bit different than American made gingerbread. If you are not used to it and were expecting a much milder version, you WILL be surprised. I love it… but then again I’m German!
Thanks so much for watching, Mary! That explains it lol!
Oh what a great score!
@marywatkins6798 ooh I must keep an eye out during Xmas sales I love stollen. Already gone through a box of the 'bites'🤣
You both just make my heart smile and warm my heart. Thank you for your positivity and love. God Bless you both and your families. Xo

It must be so much fun to receive one of these gifts. What a fun video.

Thank you Emmy and Paul! Dollar Tree sells boxes of glue dots that work amazingly well attaching various items together for gift baskets/boxes to stabilize items like small jam jars, etc. Blessings!
I love those glue dots! Great for gift baskets.
Great tip! Thanks!

Paul has been eating them LOL!
I think this may be your best video yet! Such fun, and I love Aldi! Great gift ideas! ❤️
So kind, Cathy! Thank you!
My grandmother always put a peach pit in her canned peaches that give them and almond flavor.
Thanks for sharing.
Loved your sign/off with Paul together! Good job with the gifts. 🎁
Thanks so much, Deb!
Love it!!! I’m hitting Aldi’s now 🙏🙏🙏
LOL! Thanks for watching!

Such good ideas. My creativity wheels are spinning.
YAY! That's what we were hoping for, Connie lol!
I enjoy Aldi as well. Fortunately, I have 2 Aldi stores in my area. Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome!
You both are the best!!! Think you did great!!! Laughing with you both at end when Paul smelled dominoe😂!!
He is such a fun guy LOL!
YES! My face always gives me away! I have to be careful when I get annoyed LOL!
Thank you for all your time and creativity in showing how you can easily put together frugal, useful and delicious gifts during the pricey holidays. I personally would love receiving any of these.
God gave us all of our senses so Paul was using one of his on the Dominoes. Dixiebelle would be proud😂
LOL! Yes, Dixie would!

So smart to buy ahead and freeze!
I've stopped at Aldi for yrs ever since they came to my town. I have to check out the Stollen and the butter cookie like treats. I always enjoy shopping there.
Shopped.

I’ve been making those homemade tags made out of Christmas cards for years. It’s was so funny to see them
They are so lovely!

New Zealand! How wonderful! Thanks so much for the encouragement!
The only seasonal goodies I want this year is a Terry’s chocolate orange. I’m a cheap date. 😁
Exactly.
Those are good!
Always shop for my groceries at aldi. Love that store. You did a great job in your gifts. Love your channel as usual. Have a blessed weekend. ❤
Thank you, Melody! You too!

So glad the video was helpful! Just wash the tins/containers really well before using them if they are used!
Use double sided tape the good kind to stick things together just a small piece. With the cookie one add instant coco packets or coffee, add a few of those chocolate spoon or swirls sticks, just tuck them in there.
Thanks!
I think they are good prices. Nice selection of gifts.
Thanks so very much!
The stollen is delicious. We prefer the almond. The prices for Aldi's Christmas treats are usually very good. The cookies are very small, though.
Yes, stollen is a wonderful treat!
Beautiful gifts and presentations .
Thanks so much, Mary!
Love watching your videos!! I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving! I hope it is filled with family and friends and lots of love!!!
You as well, Tina! Thank you!

Great gift ideas! I wish we had an Aldi’s in Las Vegas 😏
Thanks so much for watching!
I wished I could get my friends/coworkers stuff like this and homemade items….
Most ppl are unappreciative these days tho.
I had a coworker give me a round of homemade sourdough bread last year for Christmas. It was the best bread. Sad she no longer works with us.
That's so sad people wouldn't appreciate them...
I love the gift ideas but I think I would have tasted the dominoes before giving as a gift. LOL
LOL! Paul loved them!
Thank you for the gift ideas!
Thanks for watching, Kelly!
I only gift my two grandchildren and my twin daughters
That's so kind you to think of them, Kerry!
@FrugalMoneySaver yes but I don't think they understand appre iation
You two are precious!! And so creative in your gift giving. I love these ideas!
Thank you so much!
Oh Emmy, this video is so lovely and funny. As you know I live in Germany and Aldi is my favourite supermarket. All things you showed we can buy from September til December. And thank you for pronounce spakulatius so lovely😅😅. I need to laugh so much at the moment. Send you much, much love and a big hug to you.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh thank you, Sabrina! So sorry I am answering this late. A lot going on! So happy to hear from you! Sending much love back and a big hug too!
Great ideas. They remind me of Swiss Colony gift boxes. Do you like Applets & Cotlets ? My dad loved those. They are pretty good. I have tried fruit cake but not stollen. Love seeing you guys both on camera at the same time. You should do it more often. 😊
Thanks for the encouragement, Latesha! We will!
Just to Inform you: the Stollen in Aldi in Germany are 4.99€
Thanks so much for the tip, Chira!
Aldi is the best. Their regular groceries are a great value and the imported specialty holiday items are so much fun. The only thing I would caution on is their produce. Only buy what you're going to use within a day or two - it doesn't seem to have the shelf life of regular grocery store produce.
Thanks for the tips!
Love, love this video with the Aldi’s haul and love seeing y’all put the wonderful gifts together! Thank you so much for the great tips ❤
You are so welcome, Debbie!
Your gift ideas all turned out so lovely! They may have been frugal - but they didn't look like it at all. Thanks for the inspiration!
YAY! Thanks so much, Lori
Hi Paul and Emmy! Wow some great gift ideas for Christmas. I am fortunate in my city to have two Aldi stores. Not only do they have great food sales but their non food isles have some outstanding prices . I have gotten some great finds over the years that have been very good quality. ❤
Great to know! Thanks, Lisa!
Just luv all ur sweet and thotful gifts!! Fun at Aldis too. We don't have here in Denver arg! Savers tho ! 😊

Love this video! The gifts are so thoughtful and yummy looking! ❤❤
So kind, thank you!
Lovely video and great gift ideas thank you so much!
Thank you! 😊
I hope you can recreate your favorites and share the recipe with us! Love you guys and your channel!!
That would be fun!
The coockies are easier pronounced in dutch...spekulaas...and it is a gingercoockie as you eat at christmas but differs somewhat in spices..you do the same as I do..great gifts! Greetings from Sweden🇸🇪
Thanks for the tips, Gina!
Amazing gifts at amazing prices 🎉❤😊
