    Do you chuck the empty bottles in the pool to let people know what you added to the water, or is there another reason?

    • @colinshearring3934
      @colinshearring3934 Рік тому +9

      Wonder if used in case it ices up the empty container will deform and take the stress of the ice. We have floating blocks on our pool in SW France....although we did have -14 back 10 years or so ago in the last few winters they have not had much of a job to do

      He throws the empty bottles in there because there is some residue in them, and throwing them in allows the residue to be diluted into the pool, i’d imagine he removes the bottled after the residue has been absorbed into the pool.

    • @capers72424
      @capers72424 Рік тому +2

      @@CampbellsDiaryVA that doesn’t make sense to me, the most efficient way to get residue out of the bottle is to submerge the bottle to fill it with water, and then dump the bottle out a few times. The floating bottles won’t necessarily fill with water, and if they don’t, there is no way any residue would come out of the bottle.

    Man, that leave collection device is the job, right there. Defo going to get one of those for my setup, always dealing with pine needles blowing in, saves on work emptying the skimmer and pump baskets, cool job boys!

    I wish I had a vac like that when I was doing pool service. We had to hike to a few of them and carrying the pump was a chore to say the least.

      so that there was no frost heaving, and the ice squeezed the bottles, not the walls of the pool. you don't have negative temperatures in Australia.

    • @exnozgaming5657

      In winter if the water freezes up and expands, it will crush the bottles instead of putting stress on the walls.

    I wish we had your type of winter climate here in the USA. We have to blow out all the lines and plug them… very wet and cold this time of year. And our covers are heavier solid safety covers with spring loaded hooks. Bad backs around here after so long lol

    Im assuming the one shut valve is the main drain, but how do you get away with not blowing out the lines to the pool? Obviously depending on your areas frost grade would dictate a lot of that. But if your closing the pool im going to say its due to cold weather. While yes the pipes should be down deep enough, i would never rely on good faith from an installer/ previous service techs.

    At the company I work for, we have 2 "Hammerhead" pool cleaners. Not sure on the exact differences between the "Hammerhead", "Wow vac pro" and the "Riptide" pool cleaners, but they all seem to do the same job. I'd say the Hammerhead is one of the best bits of kit on my van. It makes servicing pools so much quicker and easier during the season. Unfortunately, the bags we have aren't great with fine debris and get clogged on the muckier pools. They're great for the larger stuff though.

    • @yeamewoo

      the only down side for my hammerhead is dirt and dust, ive cleaned sand with it before and it worked but thats about the smallest it will go, and really thick piles of leaves will stop the motor if you dont go slow enough

    • @thepoolguyml
      @thepoolguyml  Рік тому +1

      yer to be honest I only got the wowvac pro this year but defo one of the best bits of equipment in the van. I find that I'm using it way more at the end of the season though with all the leaves compared to summer

    • @Shaynewarner1
      @Shaynewarner1 Рік тому

      I used my Hammerhead at a few specific pools right through the season. There was very little dust on the floor of these pools, but a decent amount of leaves and twigs. The hammerhead got the muck out in roughly half the time it would have taken to manually vac the pool. Plus, at the end of the season, one of my regular clients gets a load of acorns falling in the pool. These tend to clog the suction lines when manually vacuuming, so I use the hammerhead on that pool at the end of the season too.

    • @yeamewoo
      @yeamewoo Рік тому +1

      @@Shaynewarner1 I manage a small crew and I give myself majority of the shit pools just to keep their spirits high lol, if I didn’t use my riptide it adds at least an hour to my day. Now during closings riptide with the leaf bag 👌 best thing ever
