I am so glad to do it. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and since of community shown to me from the nomads I met while traveling last January, that I plan to pay it forward every time I have the means and opportunity to do so. Thanks for watching.
Thank you Lamont. Looks as though the entire roof needs sanded and fiberglass patched but that's another day. Soon you both will be on the road west. Enjoy your vacation. Need to find that Bob Wells mechanic bus and see if you can assist him, Badge, you know them all. Maybe even help with some solar jobs. I think they would like to see yours. It blows most out of the water. Safety was your priority.
Thanks Bryan. I'm looking forward to hitting the road in January. It would be fun to meet those guys and a few others I watch on UA-cam. One day I may even get up there in your area and shake your hand. ☺
It is in practical terms an "emergency" type of repair that should make Mitsi a bit more comfortable. I've been seriously thinking about adding a bit of self leveling sealant around the edges for a little extra peace of mind. Thanks for watching and I will keep the channel updated of any changes. ☺
For sure !!! And that tape is suppose to be very strong so i bet it holds till she can afford to fix it properly and put money into it she is lucky you did that
I had a similar situation on my fiberglass campervan roof. I had 2 vents which didn't give enough room to mount a large solar panel up there. So we took the forward vent out and scraped all the residue away. Then I purchased a 1/8"x18"x18" inch piece of high density polyethylene from a local plastics company. Then we used the putty tape as well as screwed it down to the roof, followed up with Dicor lap sealant. So far, no leaks as the solar panel blocks any direct rain. It also wasn't in my budget to do a fiberglass repair, over $100 for the materials. We paid about $13.00 for the plastic sheet plus the tape & sealant, which we can use elsewhere.
Well done using the polyethylene to patch your roof. At the time, Mitsi was looking forward to putting a vent fan in that area and only wanted a temporary solution. Thank you. I appreciate you watching.
I do. I have been fortunate to discovered some of the absolute best people in this lifestyle. I'm grateful to have had a small part in helping Mitsi pursue her adventure.
It lasted about a month in the rain and cold weather we were getting here in Memphis at the time. Mitsi left and started heading towards the 2020 RTR and my last inspection showed no signs of leaks. 👍🏾
I was thinking I might need a heat gun on the small section I scraped away. The blade worked okay so I stuck with it. Great suggestion that I will keep in mind if I need to remove more of that old caulking for a future project. 👍🏾
So kind of you to help Mitis. Thanks for sharing. Be safe.

Lamont...you're a good egg!🦋
Lol, thank you. 🥚
Looking forward to see how this tape holds up. Looks like a hard place to patch. Safe travels.

Awesome job Lamont!👍
Thank you. I appreciate that.
Good looking out Lamont. I know Mits appreciates.
Hey Franki. Yes, she appreciates the help very much.
I thought it was a much bigger hole. Once your hand was in the pic I was finally able to tell the size. So grateful for your help Lamont.💖
Yeah, it's not too big. It will definitely give you a little time ⌚ to consider your options for a perminant solution.
Good job that is good tape i always carry some of it with me
I'm going to keep the rest of the roll with me as well. It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.💯👊🏾

Great job. Think I will carry a roll of that tape for emergencies.
It's been a working great as a short term solution.
Karen Byrd , I thought the same thing. That tape is so cool!
That was so nice of you. I know you miss your friend. 🙏🏾

@@xlamontx Yes, there are some good people still exist thankfully.
You have the coolest intro ever!
Thank you.

So true Darryl. Glad you're watching. 👍🏾👊🏾💯
Nice fix, my friend and good video. So, can you give an update on it? Did it last?

@@xlamontx not bad at all!
Thanks for sharing. Would a heat gun help remove the left behind caulk and other patch adhesive?

Lazy ass Micky mouse fix
Fiberglass is easy enough to work with and it will last. That tape won't last more than a week or so.
Maybe it will. Maybe it won't. The fun is in trying it out to learn for myself. 👍🏾
@@xlamontx you responded with grace... I apologize for being unnecessarily rude. I hope the patch works for awhile.
No worries, I appreciate you watching and your honest feedback.
good job
Thank you. 👍🏾
