Krampus was originally going to be a much darker Christmas movie like Silent Night, Deadly Night ( 1984), and Black Christmas ( 1974), but the creators decided to make it a horror comedy like Gremlins and The Goonies since it has a light hearted tone.
When Krampus left the toy and jumped away, my first time watching the movie I expected him to jump on top of the vehicle and crush her lol the actual scene was much better than I anticipated

So I calculated (yes I did this) the weight and height of Krampus. He's about 9 feet tall but since he's always hunched over, he's 10 feet tall if standing up straight. His weight is about 234 pounds but with all the chains and shit on him he's about roughly 300 pounds. So in logical terms he would fall through each house he landed on with the force of gravity on him. This took ALONG time but it was worth it.
As the movie kinda gives a comedic vibe, the bloopers would have been a classic. * scene of Krampus jumping to roof to roof* *falls through one of the houses* *mass amount of screaming and swearing, and krampus apoligizing* CUT!!!!
Considering the nature of krampus it's not a stretch to assume he has some strange property around so he can land on each house and not break throughout them
I bet the real reason why this movie was made was to teach kids a lesson that if they are bad during Christmas, stuff like this could happen to them and their families

I remember the year this came out, I was still a really young kid, and any time I did something bad around the holidays (which was rare bc I was a good kid) my big brother would tell me Krampus was gonna get me. And as a little kid, I believed him. That Christmas Eve was spent like all the other ones except one different thing: I would pull an all nighter to try and catch Santa Claus. But that Christmas? I pulled an all nighter so I could hide fast enough if krampus came. We love big brothers huh?
The part in this scene that horrified me the most was when that thing came out of the box her scream scared me: (clears throte,) AAAAAAAAHHHHHHGGG. Blood curtling scream

This movie was better than it had any right to be. i still vividly remember this scene in the theater on opening night, the audience was having a good laugh at the movie right up until this scene started, and then it got so quiet you could hear a pin drop. People looked terrified and thats rare anymore when i go to watch a horror film.

Pretty good chase scene. This scene, Krampus himself and the animated flashback are the reasons why I love this movie.

I think that was a good choice. The director of this film as also directed Trick R Treat, and Krampus feels like a similar film for Christmas.
