Agree, I had to learn to add more water and do more lathering as my early shaves had "pasty" lather instead of fluffy lather. If your razor doesn't clear easily with water, it's too pasty.
I’ve been trying the Proraso sensitive skin pre-shave and it really makes a difference. I am rather new to double-edge razor shaving, so don’t have much skill yet, but before Proraso my shaving results would sometimes look like a botched suicide. Only one nick during the last 5 or so times I used the pre-shave. I would definitely recommend this to newbies. I still want to experiment if it makes any difference if I keep the pre-shave on for longer before applying shaving cream.
Cool to hear the progress JPNY! All around it’s a solid shave cream. Adding it on top of their pre shave cream is an invigorating bliss. What type of hardware are you using?
@@ToolsofMen - thanks, so far so good. BTW I only used the pre-shave from Proraso. The shaving cream I am using is the Pure line from Gillette, with the King C. Gillette safety razor Gillette released recently in US. Bought a sample pack of razor blades - I think there is 200 of them, so I should be set for a long time.
The pasty lather doesn't do the C.O. Bigelow justice. It is a much better product when used with more water. Not to be critical, but your shave looked very uncomfortable to me and that sticky lather is what is causing your nicks.
To improve the result for minute 10:00 area, go one pass cross grain at that area and reduce the cutting angle to the point when the cutting edge just starts cutting.
You need to make a lather in a shaving bowl. Use about a one inch dollop of shaving cream and mix it up with a brush adding small amounts of hot water until the lather is rich and plenty for a three pass BBS shave.
I just used it too and you're right about the product. It is good. Absolutely no irritation whatsoever. Face feels nice. And no, alcohol does not make your skin age faster. Cheers.
Proraso needs to make an unscented version of it.... like, literaly NON-scented. The fragrance can clash with other frag's in your soaps. If they did this, it would probably be a regular, for every shave.
You don't need any pre shave B.S. Just use a hard puck shave soap. Bloom the puck while you are in the shower, and use the bloom water as the pre-shave and to wet your beard. It is really amazing how much you do not know about shaving. Also, you don't know how to build a lather. You don't use anywhere near enough water.
Love Proraso but its a useless product. If you use the eucalypthus pre shave and then the regular green shave cream its for me an ice cold feeling. It feels very unpleasant. It should be the other way, a warming effect.
Everything you said is subjective personal preference. That doesn't make it useless, it makes it not your choice. Try the different Proraso choices, the one you used did exactly what it was supposed to do...a cooling experience. I think that Proraso products are an excellent choice for great shaves at an affordable price.
Heyo - any other pre shave creams/oils you might be curious about?
ariana and evans pre shave serum
Bro you need to work that lather more by adding WAY more water, it really EXPLODES and becomes far slicker and more comfortable that way.
Replied on the other video - thanks again for the feedback!

Your absolutely right - looking back on it, this review needs to be redone. Appreciate the kind and constructive feedback
So the Refresh Pre-Shave Cream Eucalyptus & Menthol Only has to stay on your face for roughly 1min before applying the shaving cream? Thanks

I know it's an "old" video now, but just in case, I highly recommend you change your "Shark" blades to "Personna" (lab blue ones) or "Feather".

Proraso preshave vs noxzema as a preshave
It's not a pre shave balm it's a pre shave cream. And yes, there is a difference. Proraso does sell an after shave balm.
It’s “pro-razo” not “per-asso”

The product is excellent and makes a difference in my opinion. I guess you are right about the cold too. In hot summer day would work well.
