I was very fortunate to see the Live Evil tour and I can honestly say the album is one of my favorite live albums of all time. The show just blew me away and is still one of the best shows I have ever seen.
Heaven and Hell and The Mob Rules are in my opinion two of the most greatest Metal albums in history. I've been loving those two albums ever since I was a teenager and still listen to those two albums on regular basis even after all these decades. The DIO era and Tony Martin era of Sabbath were so great in my opinion. While I'm a fan of Sabbath with Ozzy. I much rather the DIO era of Sabbath as well Darcy. And also LIVE EVIL happens to be one of my most favorite live albums as well. It looks like a really awesome! Box set Darcy. Take care brother.🤘🍺

I just ordered the Boxset Darcy.😀 I've only ever had Live Evil on cassette and lost all my cassettes in Hurricane Katrina back in 2005. And that's an album I've never replaced for my collection yet. The Remastered reissues of heaven and hell and mob rules put together gives you a full live dio Sabbath concert, so far i only managed to purchase the mob rules and that was very hard to find in my state, just need the other
Absolute classic albums. Don’t underestimate dio and producer birch influence. Rainbow long live rock n roll sounds very similar to me. Last two ozzy albums were weak. First 6 are amazing.
This was great! Awesome set! It blows my mind that in a 4 year period, Dio gave us Heaven&Hell, Mob Rules, Holy Diver and Last in Line!! All stone cold classics! Perfect 10s! Funny you mentioned Technical Ecstasy. I’ve been enjoying revisiting that CD on my morning commute this week. Cheers 🍻 🤘🏼

I was late to Black Sabbath too. My first Black Sabbath song was the music video for Neon Nights, and then I had Ozzy Speak of the Devil, which is how I knew most of the songs. But I didn't really get into Sabbath until maybe the 2000s because when I was younger I was more interested in finding faster music. I think Live Evil has one of my favorite album covers. I have it on CD already, but I might have to check this out
I think that was the case with me too, mid ‘83 to ‘86 I was into Sabbath & then lost track for a long time! It was all about the thrash in late ‘86. Live Evil is definitely worth revisiting. Have a great weekend 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Hi, I agree, this remixed 2023 version is the way Live Evil should have sounded from the beginning. Now justice is done to these recordings, what they put up for sale before sounded disastrous, I never liked how they left this album sounding, until now
Nice one Darcy! I was tempted to get this one but money´s a little tight right now. Well, I still have my OG vinyl copy so everything is ok, hehe... I was a little late to Sabbath as well tbh. I first listened to Ozzy and when the "Tribute" live album came out in ´87 I first heard some of the Sabbath songs. I saw Sabbath with Dio in 1992 supporting Maiden at a festival and they blew me completely away. Later I saw them with Tony Martin and they were still fantastic, love those albums as well. I´d love to see a Sabbath ranking video by my fave "ranking pope"!!!

Incredible live album and best of all it concentrates on my favorite Sabbath albums, Heaven And Hell and Mob Rules. I think Ronnie sounds great on Ozzy era tracks like N.I.B. and Black Sabbath. I would have loved to hear him tackle songs like Symptom Of The Universe, Hole In The Sky and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

Great video Darcy. Man, that was suck if the Tony M era box set is CD only. One of local shops in my area currently have OG copies of the Tony Sabbath albums in excellent shape but they cost of fortune. Im so tempted to get them but was thinking I would wait for the new vinyl box set. Now I’m even more tempted to buy these OG copies.

You get 4 cds with proper sleeves as well. Obviously all extras are the same but smaller, great box set Love it 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘👌👌👌💯💯. Cd version £80 Uk
I have all of the Black Sabbath boxsets so far and love them immensely. I have been an obsessed fan since I was an eight year old kid in 1980. I have every one of thwir albums probably in triplicate or more, in several medias, as well as all of the boxsets, and stacks of bootleg live albums too. But anyways, these boxsets are the best. Every one of the Ozzy era ones comee with its own double or triple live album and the studio album and outtakes, a tour program, a giant poster and hard cover book. That is an incredibly wonderful set. I love them all.

However what's most important the remaster and remixed versions are worth the purchase and the listening too, after all that's what it's all about!!! I will be in Canada for a brief time ina couple of months and really looking forward to visiting your country. My wifes family on both sides are from Canada so she cant wait to visit family over there if possible. The deluxe boxset looks awesome but to tell you the truth i have never heard it. I have the 4 CD version. They did an excellent on the remix. I'm enjoying the summer months as well. Today, I visited the Neil Peart Memorial Pavillion at Lakeside Park today. It's a very short 5 minute trip for me. They will a erect a bronze statue soon.

Been listening to this a lot in the past week. And agreed, the remix gives the live performances a fresh new sound. I have a feeling Tony iommi will release born again next and it really needs a remix imo. I believe I would like it more if I could actually stand the quality of the mix. And really looking forward to this Tony Martin box set that’s been in works for years. Not sure if it’s going to be seperate discs for each album or just featuring the hits from all of the 3 or 4 albums. That era never got any respect but there’s a lot of great stuff there.

We all want a remix of that bizarrely mixed album. So tough to listen to. I think digital bitch and hotline are average, but the rest of the songs are excellent and would love a remix so I am keen to listen to it rather than a chore when I listen to the remaster haha
Great sound on this, the original was good but has sound quality issues with the audience sounding like it was a mile away. Ronnies vocals are clearer, the drums and bass can be heard much better on this, great live sound. Really good stuff! I grew up during the Ozzy era, really enjoy the Sabatage box set too.
I need to get the Sabotage box set, it contains two of my favourite Black Sabbath songs, Hole In The Sky & Megalomania! Simply one of the best from the Ozzy era. Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers Steve
Fantastic looking box set that one, a real nice addition to your collection Darcy. It's a great live album as well. I think Ozzy will always be the voice of Sabbath, but Dio does a fantastic job on the albums he was on and he did keep the band in the big time when it could have gone down hill for them when Ozzy left.

In my car right now is the Heaven & Hell you gave me. Just have to hear the 1st few seconds of Neon Knights and get totally blown away. Very interesting the remixed album you showed that the vocals sound almost studio. That was one thing that kinda bugged me about the original, the vocals sounding too much like in a big hockey rink. Maybe that is solved. Interesting to hear you vote Dio era over Ozzy era. I saw Sabbath on the Heaven & Hell Tour. Stood right in front of Iommi and it was fantastic. I also saw the Heaven & Hell band at Sweden Rock. The poster looks excellent and would make for a great rock shirt. Well........in about an hour it will be time for the Lions to "lick the Stamps" in Calgary to open the CFL Season up. I would think Sask will be improved with Harris at QB. Really looking forward to your Sabbath and Top 10 live albums ranking action.

Took me a long time to finally get on board with how great Scorpions World Wide Live is due to that vocal reason. But love it now. I was almost at tonight's Lions game, but the forcast kept showing thunderstorms, so I aborted. Looks like it will be perfect there now though, dohh. Go Panthers Go !
I had this on Preorder...then cancelled...then preordered again....cancelled and then went with the CD version lol. I got Japanese version on vinyl though. I'm more of a Dio Sabbath fan than Ozzy. Great video. Haven't picked this boxset up yet. I have the other 4. Still a little expensive in Australia $240. My favourite band. I own originals of every studio album except Forbidden. I will have to pick it up to add to my 50+ OG copies of Sabbath albums. I love all era's of Sabbath. I'm also interested in the proposed Tony Martin era boxset. Recommend the Technical Ecstasy boxset as well. Well worth it. 🤘

Loved this when it came out originally (the artwork was a big selling point lol) in 82 or so. Loved that they did the remaster in 2008 and I'm very happy they put the deluxe treatment to this 😊 Can't wait for the Tony Martin stuff to get the well deserved deluxe treatment and recognition. This will next statement cause some agst, but truth hurts. I really feel Tony Martin was a better singer (technically speaking) than DIO😮. Don't get me wrong DIO was a fantastic singer AND frontman. I just feel that TM was more technically precise and maybe had a better range (needed work on his frontman skills). What kills TM's time with being in Black Sabbath was the band actually being called Black Sabbath. If they had changed the name to something else we could potentially be talking about one of the greatest metal bands ever! Just my take. Good review and thanks for the vid! 👍👏🤘🎸

That Record is the actual set list from that tour. I was at that tour and use to have that tour program. I have this original and you're right it's not as glossy as the original
I saw the Black Sabbath Mob Rules tour in Greensboro and Charlotte N.C .coliseum's on February 16th and 26th 82. On the 16th they performed Country Girl and Slipping Away. On the 26th the extended version of Voodoo replaced those two songs and Ronnie James Dio dedicated it to the idiot who threw a cup of beer on stage. All songs were played from the Mob Rules album on their 81-82 tour except Over and Over at some point during the tour.
Hey Darcy! So happy this got a re-release as a Deluxe Edition. This has always been one of my favorite live albums. As everyone agrees I to think the remix is sensational! I picked up the cd version because I already had the original on vinyl and cassette. If I remember correctly back in the day there was a bit of controversy as Sabbath was working on this record Ozzy comes out of nowhere with his live album of all Sabbath classics Speak of the Devil. If I remember correctly Live Evil got delayed because of this. I could be wrong. Lol... Darcy take care my brother and as always stay heavy!🤘🤘🤘

Live Evil,yeah...I still have an original cassette which sounds great but I think I am going to buy this remastered CD version.Although...I have the Mob Rules and Heaven And Hell Deluxe Editions /2 CDs each/ and on disc 2 you get a lot of live recordings,pretty much the same setlist as on Live Evil...
I'm glad I got this one too. This was actually my first "new" Sabbath purchase back in '83. I still have my OG vinyl but I never really cared for it honestly. The only Ronnie album I had owned at the time was "Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow" and I definitely didn't care for hearing him doing the Ozzy songs. And the production also bothered me. I spent way more hrs. listening to "Speak of the Devil". I probably haven't listened to this album in nearly 40yrs. (gawd, I'm old). It sounds great. And, since my love for Dio has grown immensely since the early 80s, I don't mind him doing the Ozzy songs near as much as I once did. Keep up the good work! And I'd love to know if you've heard the new Metal Church and what you thought.

Whilst I think Ronnie would do a better job of Ozzy era than Ozzy of Dios I can't get into Sabbath era Dio one bit. Looks a nice set tho for fans. I thought all these super deluxe Sabbaths were done on CDs tbh. I've seen a few of them in HMV.

I suggest rather than doing a 'Black Sabbath' ranking you do a 'BS/Tony Iommi' ranking. May as well throw in the Glenn Hughes 1996 dep album and Fused & the 2000 solo album. If that's asking too much I hope you at least, at minimum, include the 2009 Heaven & Hell album DEVIL YOU KNOW. *I fully respect that this is your channel & your decision.* I'm just throwing it out there. Every time I watch BS ranking of 19 official albums I'm always thinking.... "Why not just count all 22 or 23 Iommi albums?? I know The Devil you Know isn’t a proper BS album but that basically what I consider it lol I love Bible Black and a couple others but def my least favorite BS with Dio album.

Sorry, but this poor set is just ridiculously priced compared what´s in it. The same record twice, remastered and remixed. NOTHING else. No bonus tracks and why don´t include all concerts that this album was compiled from?! These Sabbath so called "deluxe"-sets are so utterly disappointing compared to what other bands do with their back catalogue. Just look at Jethro Tull and Marillion for example. SO much content...för less than half the price.

I have all of the Black Sabbath boxsets so far and love them immensely. I have been an obsessed fan since I was an eight year old kid in 1980. I have every one of thwir albums probably in triplicate or more, in several medias, as well as all of the boxsets, and stacks of bootleg live albums too. But anyways, these boxsets are the best. Every one of the Ozzy era ones comee with its own double or triple live album and the studio album and outtakes, a tour program, a giant poster and hard cover book. That is an incredibly wonderful set. I love them all.
More discussion should be held on album cover..each figure should be explained.would add a real dimension to this master piece.

However what's most important the remaster and remixed versions are worth the purchase and the listening too, after all that's what it's all about!!! I was also late to Sabbath's party, just discover them late in the 80's and never cared about them through that era. cheers and be well

My wifes family on both sides are from Canada so she cant wait to visit family over there if possible. The deluxe boxset looks awesome but to tell you the truth i have never heard it. I have the 4 CD version. They did an excellent on the remix. I'm enjoying the summer months as well. Today, I visited the Neil Peart Memorial Pavillion at Lakeside Park today. It's a very short 5 minute trip for me. They will a erect a bronze statue soon.

Been listening to this a lot in the past week. And agreed, the remix gives the live performances a fresh new sound. I have a feeling Tony iommi will release born again next and it really needs a remix imo. I believe I would like it more if I could actually stand the quality of the mix. And really looking forward to this Tony Martin box set that’s been in works for years. Not sure if it’s going to be seperate discs for each album or just featuring the hits from all of the 3 or 4 albums. That era never got any respect but there’s a lot of great stuff there.

We all want a remix of that bizarrely mixed album. So tough to listen to. I think digital bitch and hotline are average, but the rest of the songs are excellent and would love a remix so I am keen to listen to it rather than a chore when I listen to the remaster haha

The reason they played under Heaven & Hell was so Dio didn't have to sing any Ozzie era songs, which he hated singing.
Great sound on this, the original was good but has sound quality issues with the audience sounding like it was a mile away. Ronnies vocals are clearer, the drums and bass can be heard much better on this, great live sound. Really good stuff!
I grew up during the Ozzy era, really enjoy the Sabatage box set too.
I need to get the Sabotage box set, it contains two of my favourite Black Sabbath songs, Hole In The Sky & Megalomania! Simply one of the best from the Ozzy era. Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers Steve
Fantastic looking box set that one, a real nice addition to your collection Darcy. It's a great live album as well. I think Ozzy will always be the voice of Sabbath, but Dio does a fantastic job on the albums he was on and he did keep the band in the big time when it could have gone down hill for them when Ozzy left.

In my car right now is the Heaven & Hell you gave me. Just have to hear the 1st few seconds of Neon Knights and get totally blown away. Very interesting the remixed album you showed that the vocals sound almost studio. That was one thing that kinda bugged me about the original, the vocals sounding too much like in a big hockey rink. Maybe that is solved. Interesting to hear you vote Dio era over Ozzy era. I saw Sabbath on the Heaven & Hell Tour. Stood right in front of Iommi and it was fantastic. I also saw the Heaven & Hell band at Sweden Rock. The poster looks excellent and would make for a great rock shirt. Well........in about an hour it will be time for the Lions to "lick the Stamps" in Calgary to open the CFL Season up. I would think Sask will be improved with Harris at QB. Really looking forward to your Sabbath and Top 10 live albums ranking action.

Took me a long time to finally get on board with how great Scorpions World Wide Live is due to that vocal reason. But love it now. I was almost at tonight's Lions game, but the forcast kept showing thunderstorms, so I aborted. Looks like it will be perfect there now though, dohh. Go Panthers Go !

I had this on Preorder...then cancelled...then preordered again....cancelled and then went with the CD version lol. I got Japanese version on vinyl though. I'm more of a Dio Sabbath fan than Ozzy. Great video. Haven't picked this boxset up yet. I have the other 4. Still a little expensive in Australia $240. My favourite band. I own originals of every studio album except Forbidden. I will have to pick it up to add to my 50+ OG copies of Sabbath albums. I love all era's of Sabbath. I'm also interested in the proposed Tony Martin era boxset. Recommend the Technical Ecstasy boxset as well. Well worth it. 🤘

Loved this when it came out originally (the artwork was a big selling point lol) in 82 or so. Loved that they did the remaster in 2008 and I'm very happy they put the deluxe treatment to this 😊 Can't wait for the Tony Martin stuff to get the well deserved deluxe treatment and recognition. This will next statement cause some agst, but truth hurts. I really feel Tony Martin was a better singer (technically speaking) than DIO😮. Don't get me wrong DIO was a fantastic singer AND frontman. I just feel that TM was more technically precise and maybe had a better range (needed work on his frontman skills). What kills TM's time with being in Black Sabbath was the band actually being called Black Sabbath. If they had changed the name to something else we could potentially be talking about one of the greatest metal bands ever! Just my take. Good review and thanks for the vid! 👍👏🤘🎸

That Record is the actual set list from that tour. I was at that tour and use to have that tour program. I have this original and you're right it's not as glossy as the original
I saw the Black Sabbath Mob Rules tour in Greensboro and Charlotte N.C .coliseum's on February 16th and 26th 82. On the 16th they performed Country Girl and Slipping Away. On the 26th the extended version of Voodoo replaced those two songs and Ronnie James Dio dedicated it to the idiot who threw a cup of beer on stage. All songs were played from the Mob Rules album on their 81-82 tour except Over and Over at some point during the tour.

Hey Darcy! So happy this got a re-release as a Deluxe Edition. This has always been one of my favorite live albums. As everyone agrees I to think the remix is sensational! I picked up the cd version because I already had the original on vinyl and cassette. If I remember correctly back in the day there was a bit of controversy as Sabbath was working on this record Ozzy comes out of nowhere with his live album of all Sabbath classics Speak of the Devil. If I remember correctly Live Evil got delayed because of this. I could be wrong. Lol... Darcy take care my brother and as always stay heavy!🤘🤘🤘

I don't have all 5. I have Sabotage vinyl deluxe set and this one. Technical Ecstasy is possibly next as it is the only early Ozzy era vinyl I am missing. I have it on cd and cassette. Thanks again Darcy! Enjoy your weekend as well!

Live Evil,yeah...I still have an original cassette which sounds great but I think I am going to buy this remastered CD version.Although...I have the Mob Rules and Heaven And Hell Deluxe Editions /2 CDs each/ and on disc 2 you get a lot of live recordings,pretty much the same setlist as on Live Evil...
I'm glad I got this one too. This was actually my first "new" Sabbath purchase back in '83. I still have my OG vinyl but I never really cared for it honestly. The only Ronnie album I had owned at the time was "Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow" and I definitely didn't care for hearing him doing the Ozzy songs. And the production also bothered me. I spent way more hrs. listening to "Speak of the Devil".
I probably haven't listened to this album in nearly 40yrs. (gawd, I'm old). It sounds great. And, since my love for Dio has grown immensely since the early 80s, I don't mind him doing the Ozzy songs near as much as I once did.

Since they are seemingly going chronologically, do you think that Born Again will get it's remix and deluxe edition? I know they had one in 2010, but it was just a remaster.
I sold all my Black Sabbath vinyl and bought the hole collection on CD sold better to me same with Led Zeppelin

Whilst I think Ronnie would do a better job of Ozzy era than Ozzy of Dios I can't get into Sabbath era Dio one bit. Looks a nice set tho for fans. I thought all these super deluxe Sabbaths were done on CDs tbh. I've seen a few of them in HMV.

I suggest rather than doing a 'Black Sabbath' ranking you do a 'BS/Tony Iommi' ranking. May as well throw in the Glenn Hughes 1996 dep album and Fused & the 2000 solo album.
If that's asking too much I hope you at least, at minimum, include the 2009 Heaven & Hell album DEVIL YOU KNOW.

Sorry, but this poor set is just ridiculously priced compared what´s in it. The same record twice, remastered and remixed. NOTHING else. No bonus tracks and why don´t include all concerts that this album was compiled from?! These Sabbath so called "deluxe"-sets are so utterly disappointing compared to what other bands do with their back catalogue. Just look at Jethro Tull and Marillion for example. SO much content...för less than half the price.
