I really like that idea that the drow coordinate waves of attacks by subordinate creatures to wear down the party; it creates a situation where you have a variety of combats/threats, and never enough time for the party to rest and regain resources, coupled perhaps with slow-acting debilitating poisons, and a lurking intelligent menace behind it all, to maintain cohesion and tension. You mentioned that drow would make clever use of environmental features; have you considered making a series on classic environments and their features? I for one am not that familiar with what the Underdark has to offer. Cheers again!
