I vote for a cropped sweater knit along! I can’t wait to knit a Soldotna.
What about a cropped top/all things summer knit a long? Love ya ladies! ❤☺
I second the notion!
Agree - Ursa or Ursa Minor, please!
2 skein stripped shawl for the knit along!!!!!
The first name that come to my mind for your shawl Tracie is "mountain view".
Why not the Odyssey shawl by Joji for the kal.
LOVE that sweater Tracie!!! Yikes... I'll have to look that one up!! The weekend was a blast... So great to get a chance to sit down and visit with you both.. And HECK yes you need to take a drive up north to check out Hippy Strings.... And maybe a 3am knit night with the Grande Prairie crazies 🤣🤣. Thank you for showing our Overlander shawl...we are running a KAL For it over in our Cozy Up Knits group on Ravelry!! Have a great week!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Traci I think your new shawl is gorgeous and you should call it "Espresso and Marmalade Toast" and Jodi I love the texture of your new Shawl and I think the name for it should be Oreo Cookies and Milk!
Roxanne Waddell Or Cookies and Cream - like the vanilla ice cream with Oreos in it!
Loved that Jodi showed the Jodi shawl. Think you should show some past knitting project again especially if you think you don't have lots of knitting to share. I would love a shawl knit along.
Jodi!!! That’s your best shawl yet. Gorgeous. ✨✨✨
Sorry I don't think that crop top is for everybody. Look how it bunches up under the arms. Just my opinion, but I do have a positive suggestion. By adding a few inches of ribbing under the bust, it spreads the extra fabric evenly around the bodice. I am busty, too. And I had a really cute crop top with ribbing under the bust and fitted sleeves. The ribbing makes it secure, so you don't have to worry about exposure when raising your arms. Also, it actually gives a more slender look.
Love the scarves! Jodi doesn't need tassels, she needs balls (I mean pompoms)!
Hey, I was in Edmonton visiting family for the last 2 weeks, went to River City and spent WAY too much $$$ but oh my goodness! I did manage to get a shawl completed and blocked while I was there and shrink wrapped all my purchases so they would fit in my carry on.
Honestly sad this wasn't another 32 hour episode! lol Love the introduction ladies; it was spot on!!!
A CROP-ALONG... how about that knit along until June? Maybe the Ursa Crop? 🤣
Yes yes yes!!! Lets do it!!
You are inspiring me to actually perhaps dare to design!!! Lovely things ladies!! And thank you for the smiles!! 😘😘
Hi from Israel! You girls make me happy and always help me get through doing the dishes with several laughs out loud. Made me wish I could join you at the mountain lodge for a getaway knitting! Can I just say that the cropped top really rocked my world! I have felt so down with my post 4th pregnancy belly..and seeing that crop top on a fuller figure made me smile and gave me hope. Would love to do that as a knit along! Sending you gals hugs from over the ocean.
Yeah! For people who said they don't care if you show any knitting. Me, too! I love your knitting. But honestly, if it were only about the knitting, I wouldn't care what podcast I watched. The ones I follow are ones that have interesting, fun, nice people--like the two of you.
Tracy your shawl is like ripples and stones
I’d love to see a KAL with both of yours new shawls! Though I really want to knit Traci’s Beach Party shawl right this minute! Also, the Ursa designer is absolutely the sweetest and most helpful person around. I was so fortunate to meet her at Ewe Fibers in Charlottesville, VA. Great yarn and fabric store!
Traci - All those holes and the yarn colours reminds me of Champagne Bubbles!! The Waves reminds me of zig-zag roads...How about Champagne Roadtrip? I would take that shawl on a road trip anytime. Love it - it's beautiful.
Having shown the Ursa, why not have the KAL as a cropped top of any weight, any description? I'd certainly be in because up to seeing the podcast today, I never thought I could pull off a cropped sweater. Jinny
Hya!!! So looking forward to sitting down to watch your podcast girls. Great to see you both ccc
So good to see you both...love your enthusiasm for the “new” yarns you are discovering 😁. I think a summer KAL would be great and I love the idea you mentioned of making it a...”what I am knitting for summer” KAL. Thanks for your time and love listening to you 💚
Gorgeous shawls ladies...Jodi what about, Where Friends Gather for a name. A name based on your recent retreat....and YES tassels!!!
28:55 May I suggest a Shibui theme song using the melody to Shi-poo-pi from Meredith Wilson’s The Music Man?
Tassels are like cowbell - tassel it up.
Hello from Kennewick, Washington! Love you guys. Traci, the beautiful shawl on you, my suggestion to name it is "Carmel Macchiato " it looks delicious ☕😊
I made the Ursa, it’s a wonderful quick knit! And I LOVE it. (I’m also StitchGwen on IG, so you can have a look if you like 😆) I hope you’ll knit one!
When and where are you going to be in Michigan? I thought I heard you mention you were coming there
Tracie I think your shawl name should be morning coffee or honey mountains.
I would love a shawl KAL
Beautiful new shawls ladies!!! I live in the southeast desert of Arizona, USA which is already starting to warm up. How about a lightweight tank or crop sweater (like the one shown) for a KAL. I've never made either even though I've been knitting for 50+ years....so scared of seaming...picking up stitches....making a tent with sleeves...yikes! Love Ellie...smooches!! What breed of furbaby?
Summers in Indiana are so hot! By then I'm thinking of everything but making something to wear. What about a Non-Wearable KAL/CAL? Stuffed animals, dishcloths, granny squares, market bags, things like that? Of course, I'm listening to your (always awesome) podcast and crocheting a Business Card Holder from Sadie Joy Creations...I wonder what gave me the idea? :)
Like your chit chat... but I LOVE your yarn and projects. I like progress reports. Please, show stuff. Thanks!
Jodi - you can name yours "Frosted Licorice Licks" and I would love to test knit for you. You two melt my heart with excitement and drive to KNIT KNIT KNIT! I want a knit a-long for one of your shawls. You could do either Tracie has Ridges or Frosted Licorice Licks.
Yes, crop-top KAL. Love knitting with y’all. Thanks for these podcasts. 🧚🏼♀️
You gals just make my day! Love your chatting and seeing your projects.
Edit: Bwaaaahwaaahwaaa.....thanks for all the laughs.
Regarding the WAK project - I love so many of their patterns and project kits, but can’t participate because they don’t go any larger than a 45” bust size. I know you have nothing to do with this but your voices are heard and maybe a comment about diversity in sizing could bring attention to the inclusivity discussion. Thanks for letting me ramble! I continue to adore you both and will joyfully continue to support all of your patterns!
Jodie's shawl reminds me of a Mexican serape'. It's got that woven look. I think Ole' or Dreaming of Cabo would be a good name. Tracie, your shawl is so pretty, I would wear it in a heartbeat. I want to make some rectangular wraps. I am a little fatigued of triangular wraps that tend to look like large napkins draped around my neck!!
Ladies, I adore the relationship between you two and the fun things you do, including knitting. However, lately it seems like half of your podcast is just showing yarns that people have sent you. Lovely yarns, yes, but I feel like it’s an hour long infomercial on indie dyed yarns. Please bring back the Jodi and Tracy podcast and leave the yarn advertising to the dyers. Please? Not all of us knit with indie dyed yarns
Come to our retreat 😊. We take over a 100 year old lodge off the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. 4 Retreats a year. Check out our Facebook page Carolina Fiber Retreats and Tours.
Tracie, I’m obsessed with your shawl! Your colors are delicious. Now I need to cast one on!
Crop tops can work for all. Suburban Stitcher made several cute ones. Also check out Yards of Happiness, she has made a lot of fun bulky sweaters. I think Elle needs a sweater 😎
Hello Grocery Girls, I have a question. Is the shawl that Jodi is wearing the Birch Tree Shawl? and may I ask what yarn was used and the color combination. I love it.
Hi girls from Scotland. I am loving your comments about the cropped top. I'm a 'fuller figured girl' and would never, never have considered a cropped top. Like you say 'whats the worst that can happen?' Hugs to you both xx
Love both the new shawls! Tracie, you should name yours Potato Chip shawl, and Jodi yours looks like Morris Code. Have a great week!
How about one skein shawl that you may design, simple
Note about the Ursa Sweater - Jacqui is donating 100% of profits today from the sales of this sweater to National Bail Out #freeblackmamas. I just bought my copy for a great cause!
When are you girls coming to Michigan??? I almost fell off my chair.... Holy Moly... I hope I get to meet you!!
I met Jacqueline at Maryland Sheep and Wool and she was wearing Ursa Minor another sweater she designed!! I think a crop sweater kal is a great idea!!
I have a shawl all ready to go. A knit along might motivate me to actually start it. It's the Bigger on the Inside Shawl by Kate Atherly.
I agree! A crop top or tank. I want to do the Soldotna!
Someone needs to invent a shawl dispenser that works like one of the pop can dispensers that go in your frig. Then we could easily rotate our shawls.
We’ve hired a bus to take 45 knitters to Stitches United in Atlanta. Going to be a blast.
I’m so bummed it’s only two days after you put this up and almost all your bags are gone!
I just cleared a credit card for Fibre Frolic!
I got some dark chocolate from a shop in Santorini last Fall. Was fantastic!
Don't chew dark chocolate and then it won't be bitter. Suck it instead :)
What is the weight amount in ounces for the minis? Love your video!😀
You and your dog are twinsies. No wait, she’s the one without the glasses.
Why not the crop sweater that you just showed for the knit a long.
The shawl makes me think of "canoeing through the aspens"
TASSEL THAT SHIT JODI!!! Looks great ❤️
I’m doing the “Hipster” in bulky.
could you talk more about cutting in a heel and all. This one is new to me and scarey
OMG i just found you wonderful women. Fun fun.
Yes, please.....write that shawl up....love it!!
Love y’all! Happy day from Texas!
Love the pup! Great podcast always Zorn Junction Yarn co
Yea, Welcome home. Missed you guys
I think we need a shawl knit along, it's turning into winter in the southern hemisphere so we could knit woody ones and the northern hemisphere girls could do cotton or linen ones, patterns , your shawls and Joji's with your names. Love your podcast, Jo-Anne
Not woody, woolly ones.
I would love a KAL with Tracie’s new wrap/ shawl, I have never knitted a wrap 🙈🧶 love Jodi’s new sweater bags, I wish I didn’t have to pay fee and what have you 😩🤪
Glad you had such a fun time! Giveaway? Oooo, love We Are Knitters kits! Have never had one, but always drool over them! Love the colors and cotton? Oh my! Going over to Ravelry to enter!
I would love to try one of your knit alongs but I'm not a sock knitter maybe a fingerless mitt knit along or maybe a one skein shawl using a special yarn that we've been holding on to (I have a couple of those)
You should call it a night in the mountains
I love, love the new shawls!!
Why not teach us the afterthought heel?
Love garter, garter, garter shawls! Love your shawl too, Tracy! I love the chevron and the colors! I must get both patterns! Can hardly wait for the patterns!!!
As usual, very entertaining, beautiful yarn, gorgeous projects, lot's of information on new products, and the fun of listening to all the things you two are up to in the past weeks and the future. Miss hearing you more often, but I understand the busy lives you lead, so no complaints! I think a shawl KAL would be fun. And I think it should be both of your shawls. The one Traci is wearing, and the one Jodi is finishing. Pick one and knit it. I love them both. Take care and see you in a few weeks.
Ladies I just found you a week ago and I am in love! I have been a timid crocheter for most of my life and started being bold about a year ago. I wanted to go back to knitting as well (only could do knit stitch). I started knitting again after the first of the year and am officially bi-stitchual. I have done a pair of fingerless mitts, a pair of mittens, and just finished a hat. You have inspired me to cast on socks. Can't wait to keep getting inspired and laughing along with you. I grew up in Detroit and feel practically Canadian so I just love it all!
An Ursa knitalong please!
I have the Grocery Girls enamel pin (so cute), the Grocery Girls stitch markers/progress keepers in tin and the Grocery Girls tape measure, plus the beautiful note cards! Love them all - super quality stuff! Too bad I can’t get progress bag and needle gauge separate ? (Hint, hint :O)
Yes! I love the idea of a cropped top knit-a-long! My fave is the Churchmouse Sleeveless Slipover. It has 3 lengths so you could make it a custom "crop" for your body type.
Love both of your shawls,
Great update, thank you.
I enjoyed as usual!!
“Hello my name is Tracie and I am addicted to yarn” 🤣 oh you girls don’t ever apologize about your lovely yarn purchases! You two knit up all those skeins pretty quickly so you have to replenish 😉
I love both of your new shawl designs they are stunning. I cannot wait for The Shawl Society next week. Helen’s designs are so beautiful.
Happy Knitting!
I vote for a cropped KAL!!
Name the shawl ying and yang
I had oral surgery when I was 19 and the orthodontist actually called me a baby and ignored my freaking out when I was hyperventivating then didn't notice when I passed out. Twice.
I wish I could have gone to Jasper sold out so fast. Galliano retreat was amazing. I found flock fibre knit city love her yarn. I hope to get midknit craving this year. Love the shawl tracy "Rocky mountain High" it reminds me of snow, mountains woodsy feel. Can't wait to see what's new for June. Fun Times
BrambleKnits 🇨🇦
Jodi! I bought one of your bucket totes and I loved it! Then my little dog climbed up on top of the dining room table and chewed the handles! 😢 He was in my bad books gor a whole day! When I saw the handles on your new bags, it brought back memories.
Love you ladies! I’d love a knits of summer KAL - tees, cropped tops, summer sweaters could all work. I would love to test knit for either of you - I just love your patterns!
Jacqui Cieslak is an absolute inspiration in the fiber world. She is attempting to forge body positive making in knitting. I hope you can continue to share her work along with her efforts towards pursuing patterns that are written for A LOT of body types.
Well, I just ripped out my current shawl because I decided the colours would be much better highlighted in your shawl, Tracie. Can't wait for the pattern.
Yes!!! Crop top KAL!
Love the new shawl, the black and white reminds me of a domino. The Domino Shawl just popped in my head when I watched your podcast.
So fun so fun! I love both of your new shawls. Perhaps they would be a nice idea for your Shawl knit alongs. The new bag colors are so pretty. Loved the yarn haul. Thank you
Italy in the giveaway anime
Shawl KAL..... love!
I howled outloud with laughter with the Ruffy comment. I was on the treadmill at the gym, had lots of onlookers....EarPods in place I must have been a sight, lol. I just look forward to your show!
Ps... am 8 inches into my Calyx... loving the pattern- yarn.
Howdy from North Texas. I've enjoyed watching you. Love your beautiful knitting projects. Wow!
Both of your shawls are beautiful! Even I could manage a 2 skein shawl, so I’m looking forward to the pattern releases. No idea what kind of KAL you should do, but I’m sure it will be fun!
