Considering that Daisy was considered in the concept art, her flower emblem is in the movie poster, she's appeared in Wonder and other major Mario stuff, they'll want to promote more female leads, and Luigi needs his love interest, I'm confident she'll be in the seuquel.

All I'm saying is that it's way too much of a coincidence that the storyboard leak depicted Mario and Luigi in a desert bazaar; and then Daisy, who is associated with deserts, was announced to be a costumed character in an upcoming parade at Universal.

Agreed, that and have just a bunch of Mario spin-off movies like Luigi's Mansion or DK, which I guess can then build up to a bigger Mario Movie that combines all of those storylines into one.

@@cadendicky1855This is why I think Nintendo is in a win-win scenario. If they decide to create a Mario Cinematic Universe, and play it safe, there's so many ideas that one franchise has to offer.
I genuinely think that's the plan. Charlie Day and Seth Rogan have said, on separate occasions, that they want movies for Luigi and Donkey Kong respectively.
Every actor who was cast signed a document stipulating that they were obliged to star in a series of sequels and spin-offs. Day and Rogan know they'll be in the main spotlight, but talk about these movies hypothetically to avoid violating their contracts.
I can see a Mario trilogy, a Luigi’s Mansion movie, a Donkey Kong Country movie and a Peach movie happening.

For Luigi, this follow-up is a win-win. If it's a sequel, he'll have equal screen time to Mario in response to complaints. If it's a spinoff, it's probably the Luigi movie.
Alright this is how i want them to introduce Wario and Walugi.
Mario and Luigi and others travel to a new kingdom. Could be daisy's kingdom. But turns out they are wanted there. But they were actually mistaken for Wario and Walugi. So they go to jail which is a refrence to Mario sunshine. I am not going to write the entire movie but this is how they should introduce Wario and Waluigi.

A Smash movie needs to start slow with just the 12 characters from the first game. And the rest can be brought in through sequels
This. You've hit the nail on the head. All these people saying "They're gonna make a Smash Bros movie and Sonic will turn up! And Mega Man! And Ryu!" have no idea how much they're putting the cart before the horse. No movie with a bloated cast (where everyone is being introduced at once) has ever worked out. If they're going to set up a Nintendo Cinematic Universe, they need to start small.
We already have one quarter of the 64 cast established: Mario, Luigi and Donkey Kong; Yoshi having a role in the sequel. Let's say we get movies for The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Kirby and Star Fox. I'm leaving out Pokemon because Warner Bros owns the film rights.
You have a movie where Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Link, Samus, Kirby and Fox meet up with each other. Captain Falcon could be their answer to Nick Fury and maybe have Ness as an audience surrogate.
Not saying this is the best way to make a Smash Bros movie, but at least it's not on par with introducing the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Doctor Strange et al in Avengers 1.
I would really love a Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga movie that would be cool. Also for a Donkey Kong Movie I really want the villain to be King K Rool.

I am very excited to see the Mario movie sequel when it gets announced and released in April 2026, including seeing other Mario characters for the sequel!
I'm still mad because sadly I didin't saw The Super Mario Bros movie in the Movie 2023 in The Movie Theater because I didin't had time for that and here in Finland every animation movies are always in finnish dub, but gladly I finally watched The Super Mario Bros Movie at home from Skyshowtime just in Mar10 Mario Day when Nintendo talked about the Upcoming The Super Mario Bros movie's Sequel coming in 2026. Can't wait i'm so excited for that and I really hope there is more familiar characters like Daisy, Rosalina, Wario and Waluigi. I hope that in the second film they don't leave Toad and Donkey Kong aside where they become extras who do absolutely nothing like in film sequences like Toy Story 4 and WiFi Ralph Where characters like Félix and Buzz Lightyear were reduced to mere supporting characters who do nothing

1. Mario Movie (which we already have)
2. A Zelda movie (on its way)
3. Pokemon movie (We have detective Pikachu but I think they should do another one)
4. A Star Fox Movie (which is the best IP for a movie or show)
5. DK movie (very likely)
6. A Metroid movie (which will be very interesting idea)

I’m looking forward to it and yes I can imagine them doing a Smash Bros Movie, probably like The Subspace Emissary. For Super Mario 2, perhaps a combination of Super Mario World 1 and 2, Super Mario Land 1 and 2.6, and Super Mario Sunshine. With a Luigi’s Mansion subplot, with Luigi and Daisy helping each other and falling in love and King Boo being the teritary antagonist hired by Bowser. Both Kamek and Bowser being the main antagonist and Bowser Jr being the secondary antagonist. Kamek and Bowser want revenge, take over Mushroom Kingdom and Brooklyn, and mostly Kamek take over Dinosaur Land. Bowser still determined to marry Peach lies to Bowser Jr that she is his mother and was kidnapped by Mario. Bowser would feel increasingly guilty maybe in some extent because of Kamek. I can imagine Jack Black doing a scene like the Bowser and Bowser Jr scene from Super Mario Sunshine and of course Bowser Jr would reveal he knew all along. Maybe a backstory on Bowser’s wife. I feel the Koopalings should be voiced by a kid actor because it would take up too much cast. Wario and Waluigi briefly work for Bowser because he falsey promises them money and for Waluigi also Daisy. They and Bowser Jr try to destroy Mario and Luigi’s reputation. He would betray them. Yoshi’s backstory of saving them as babies from Kamek and Bowser as a baby and separating them like how Obi Wan Kenobi separated Luke and Leia as babies to keep them safe from Kamek and Bowser would be a plot twist. Kamek vowed to get revenge on Yoshi and take over Dinosaur Land. Maybe Toadsworth dies either old age or gets killed by Bowser. If he’s voiced by Christopher Lloyd it would be a good conclusion for the adult fans who grew up with him and if it’s his last role. It would also give Mario, Peach, Toad, and Toadette character development. Like the scene in Altantis where the King of Altantis dies and that scene was a goodbye to his voice actor Leonard Nimoy. I would like Pauline to have a role. With a third movie being like Super Mario Galaxy being the finale. My cast idea:

I don't necessarily expect this in this next movie, but I'd like to see Mario and Peach married someday along with Luigi and Daisy. I don't know if people have thought about this, but this happening would make both couples have children that would all be related as cousins, and it would look very lovely as we see them form families. The only problem is that Wario, Waluigi, and Rosalina have no way to form their own since they are uneven in gender unless Nintendo could someday think of a fourth princess to add to the Mario franchise that could marry Wario, and then Waluigi could marry Rosalina as they are both tall and could make an excellent couple.

A cinematic universe just makes so much sense, just do it like marvel: First do movies for the first few characters that were in the first smash bros. With movies being live action and some animated is no issue (rodger rabbit, Looney Tunes back in action and the Rescue Rangers movie). And then build it up over years just how avengers / marvel did, not every movie is gonna be for everyone but that's fine, would love to see it for the nintendo IP's, starting maybe with Mario DK francise, Zelda and Kirby and do a Pokemon thing like Black Panther (movie focussing more on the land as is) and the crossovers featuring some of the characters. 🤙

Well, here's the thing, I would be excited about the possibility of a Nintendo Cinematic Universe (NCU) ONLY if Nintendo STAYS faithful to the source material from the video games, because almost TOO OFTEN, some movies based on video games deviate from the source material and therefore end up automatically failing in the box-office. But, as long as Nintendo had learned their lesson from the TERRIBLE Mario movie from 1993 and learning from the SMASH HIT success from the SUPERIOR Mario Bros movie from last year, then I would be excited about the Nintendo Cinematic Universe including a Super Smash Bros. movie in the future. For now though, we'll have to wait and see what the future holds for movies based on Nintendo's games.

Seeing more of these Mario characters in this movie would be great, but I think the thing many fans are forgetting is that should be done well in order for it to be great. The 1st movie was good, but not fantastic, mainly because it had some uneven pacing, and sometimes dumb writing choices. For the sequel to be even better, I say that not every character people are mentioning should be in the 2nd movie, maybe the 3rd movie instead, and the writiers should also focus on making sure that all the current characters are improved first, along with their interactions.

I am hoping that there is something more original and NEW about this next Mario movie and not something copy and paste that is originally seen in the games time after time again.

I think that if the smash movie gets made, instead of bringing all the characters together as is, they are gonna make a new artstyle for all of the characters to share.

I honestly wouldn't want to see a Nintendo Cinematic Universe. Not everything needs to be a cinematic universe. I'd just be happy with a series of movies focused on the Mushroom Kingdom characters, and I personally would like to see them keep things simple.
I don't think putting all of these contrasting characters in one film would be good at all.
Many don't talk and don't really rely on story. Combining Fire Emblem and Kirby would take a Herculean effort of writers to make something happen.
