Thanks for your review… I’m looking at getting one for my home hobby. They are so affordable nowadays, in my work the pro units are just too expensive for occasionally use at home.

Glad it was helpful. I now wish I got a higher frequency model as they're not a lot more. Never thought I'd do any RF level work and then I got a radio to fix haha.

There is a difference between the colons and the decimal point in the Frequency parametric value; you can't treat the colons as if they are decimal points! The colons are just markers every three orders of magnitude.
You had been setting the signal generator outputs to very low voltages; perhaps the one you connected to the frequency counter was set too low to register?
The included BNC-to-BNC cable(s) is pretty much crap, and very short. When I used some decent BNC cables on mine, most of the ringing and other distortions on the square wave signal became all but negligible on the 'scope.
The Square wave is, by definition, a 50% duty cycle, not adjustable by the user. By default, the rectangle wave is set to 50%, so it looks the same as a square wave; try adjusting the duty cycle to see a difference. The trapezoid wave also needs adjustment of other parameters in order to be distinguished from a square wave.

Can you run spooky 2 software on it mate?

I don't know, never heard of it. Also, not interested in trying. The thing works and risking bricking it in attempt to run other firmware isn't an option as I need it to work.

@@jessihawkins9116 "if you want it, FY6900 its yours.
only got it because I was drunk.. you know NZ and all, we are a little like russia and we drown our brains in booze. and Im humiliated just using this cheap Chinese sig gen and its beneath my high standard as a clueless dude when it comes to my first signal gen, so I constantly need to hold it an arms length and take the high road and nurse my weak social media ego..."
keep asking Jessi, I sense channelholder is just about to hand it to you, when listening to this video and maybe down the line when he get a little more insight he will actually realize that FY6900 is a surprisingly decent arb DDS signal generator when you have the price in mind and its difficult to match at sub 100 bucks.. ...sure' you can get way better signal gens, but you also pay more.
NO wonder that channelholder gets such begging comments with such an attitude.
