- At the 2009 UCLA LGBT Graduation Ceremony Academy Award Winning Screenwriter Dustin Lance Black was recognized with the "Distinguished Service to the LGBT Community by a UCLA Alumnus" Award.
In his Keynote Address, Mr. Black implored the graduates to stand up for their rights and be heard, or risk that others could make them all but disappear.
Here's another 'kid' from San Antonio who preceded you. Bravo for picking up the mantle when the community so badly needs someone like you, Lance. Just when you think progress is being made, you read about the three pre-teens recently who hanged themselves after being taunted as gay in their middle schools. We need more people like you to tell their stories.
It has come full circle Dustin Lance Black married his fiance 5/6/17!! All the happiness in the world to him and Tom!!

And now, he does fall in love with someone from a foreign country. He can marry him and bring him home, either if they want to make their home in California or the UK. Progress in progress.
Somebody should make a movie on his own story! It's not only great enlightment and revolution and defiance and unbelievably heroic--it's also great romance!
yeah ,every gay people should be proud for him! he inspired a lot people
