- We've all seen Fast & the Furious Tokyo Drift, but even after 8+ years living in Japan, I still had no idea what drifting is really like in Japan, until this day! In this video I followed around Ryota, a professional drift racer, as he competes to qualify for the Kansai All-Stars Drift event and experience it for the first time.
Thank you Ryota for being amazing.

Hannah's quotable quotes :
@2:27 " If you're not crashing , you're not learning"
@2:56 ". . .some of these cars are held together with duct tape and a dream . . . "
A well produced and edited short documentary and promotional episode in the world of competitive drifting in Japan.
Haha thank you Scott! Glad you liked it!
The camera work for the entire video was *SOOOO* good!
Thank you so much!
That was a mind blow. I follow a lot of Japanese drifters and also Australian drifters living in Japan so seeing a thumbnail like this is nothing unusual. I clicked on it without noticing the title or channel or anything.
When the voiceover started I was „Funny, sounds like Hannah.“
Still took me a couple of seconds to realize worlds have collided. 😄
Honestly thought @Noriyaro Alexi was gonna show up haha
That drone shot at first was sick! Props to Chris! 👏
So good to see an “outsider” interested in drifting and being so open to it
This is the Real fast & furious Tokyo drift. Love IT!!!!!!!
I think this was about the 4th Japanese drifting video that I've watched purely because I like the creator, but it's the one where I feel I've learned the most and Ryota is also just so likeable and engaging, I want him to do well in this basically silly endeavour!
Ryota is awesome! I’ve always been so curious about the drifting culture in japan…so envious that you got a ride in the car! I think i would literally be screaming the entire time having the time of my life!
LOVE THIS! Traveling to Japan for me was based around going to see drifting and doing fun car stuff and I fell in love with so much more that the country has. Spent some time with Ryota too, one of the nicest dudes around! Theres a whole universe of car culture that is unique to japan, would love to see you explore more of it in the way you do!
Drone shots are spectacular!!
“They’re bogans” I love seeing others understand and enjoy australian culture 😌
Hahah Ryota gets it 👏🏼
That was so unexpected and funny! 😂
I love when content creators from outside the drift scene do videos about it. Such a fresh look. Love the video
Glad you enjoyed it! I didn’t know if I would like it when I first went to the event but I was surprised to see that I did! So fun and exciting to watch!
Great video. Cool to see drifting shot from an outside perspective. Can't think of a better ambassador for drifting than Ryota.
I don't who you are or what you're about, but the algorithm lead me here. As a passionate drifter this was really cool perspective from an outsider of the sport. 10/10 good watch
The driver of the pink and purple car is a legend is OG drifting style. Nakamura 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
😮 This looks so fun! Thanks for sharing, I absolutely loved this!
Wow! That was insane. I felt anxious just watching this. The quality of your videos and editing has come a long way since you started, too. It felt like I was watching something on Netflix. Great work, Hannah!
Thanks Matt! 😄
All your videos! I love all the videos you make!! So good vibes and so interesting always!!
We easily get 500k by the end of the year. Best UA-cam ever!!!!
Not sure why I took so long to watch this one but I must say I enjoyed every second of it! Such an interesting vlog. Thank you to all who made this one possible, especially you Hannah to have the courage to ride along :-) Greetings from Aruba.
I saw your IG stories about drifting and so happy to see a video about it from you! Love to see the perspective/experience of someone that is not really into a topic but open to explore ❤
This was a great video. I really enjoyed learning about the Japanese drift scene. The only exposure I've had to it is Fast3, which embellished things for the movie. Cool to see a raw view.
So cool to see you cover drit scene in Japan !
I enjoyed it. Thank you !
How Exciting 😮 I don't think you blinked once when you were in the car😂what a fun video 😊
Haha I know! I didn’t wanna miss anything 😂
Great video Hannah!!! Drifting looked incredible!!! I was nervous for you when you were the passenger!!!
Love this so much! Would love to show you some Japanese car life some time. There's so much out there that i think you and the audience would be into!
Thanks so much Dustin 😄 I always down to see more of the car scene in Japan!
This whole video gave goosebumps but hearing about the guys crashing at 110km/h and shrugging it off is the most mind blowing thing
Yeah his crash was pretty spectacular 😳
Awesome video. So different from your other kind of videos. Thank you!
Big difference from the sadness in Aus awaiting visa approval… except for Chris’s visitation!
❤️❤️💕🍻
You got me at 7:30 😀 subscribed, your 33km run was also great - will do the same next year when the expo is in Osaka 🙂
Loved this! I really enjoy your travel videos and these short deep dives!
I have watched a lot of drifting videos over the past like 10 years and this video just dragged my attention straight away! Love the editing, style of filmmaking, commentary etc! REALLY great work! keep it up! :D
Thank you for the cool video...this could just be another "UA-camr went to see drifiting brrrr" video but the research you did to try to introduce the sport and history is really cool. Also Chris's drone shot "chef's kiss"....10/10 please do more interesting content when you are not traveling to cool places
Hannah and drifting, the crossover we never knew we needed.
Haha and the crossover no one expected 😂
Really enjoyed this video! Very different from your standard ones. Keep it up.!
Loved this video :). Id love more deep dives into japanese stuff like this!
Siiick video! Would be so cool to see you do coverage of D1GP pro level and FDJ next to compare that level to what you saw here. There are plenty of western youtubers involved in that space as well as natives that are surely open to video arrangements with you :D
Shocked you didn't mention Intial D at all. Before watching this video it was the only thing I knew about when it came ro drifting in japan
That looks so much fun 😍
As someone who used to drift around QLD in an old beat-up commie, this video gave me so much joy!
This was an excellent video Hannah 👏👏👏
Glad you enjoyed Hannah!!!
Great video! I've been thinking about trying drifting in Japan for a while now. but I'm never sure where to go. Thanks!
Super excited to watch the full video, cheers and greetings from Shillong Meghalaya India ❤❤🎉
Ooooo this looks like a hell of a lot of fun! I'm not even a car kind of person, but damn this is cool
ahhhh drifitng.. 'cause life is so much better when you're sideways! PS, we need more video like this!
Your face was a brilliant mix of fear and elation.
This is amazing!
Now that I remember that Hannah has that modded Jeep, it would fit right in at a car event. It would be interesting to know your opinions on itasha and other such car events.
“Dont f’in do it” -Ryota😂😂
I loved this !!!
Super cool
Waiting for Hannah and ALBO collab now 👀
That's a nice s15
soo awesome
"held together by duct tape and a dream" 😂
Is it that breathtaking while enjoying it in-person?
How do you not even mention your fellow Australian @noriyaro :O
where is this located in Kansai? God I’d love to watch them live. I really love you contents Hannah! I like to Live in Japan too. I’m your biggest fan here in Philippines
Can you give us tips if we have to live in Japan for 1 or 2 years. Like the way to rent a house and other things.
Wished there was a video of Hannah drifting 😂
Hahaha that would’ve been downright dangerous 😂
Only i can say Amazing
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I saw it on the news.
Hey! I’m a musical theater artist and am looking into traveling full time. Are you still a performer?
What was the story with that -Mexico- ( 😅) Queensland plate?
Ryota's car has Queensland plates, did he live in Queensland?
Yeah I think he lived there for a bit a few years ago! That’s why he knows and uses Aussie slang haha
It reminds me the anime Initial D.
Shame SAMMIT the Aussie boy was not there
hi mam
I want to apply for the shorts video editor for your channel.
Can we talk.
鈴鹿サーキットじゃなくて、鈴鹿ツインサーキットですね。
両者に資本関係は無いです。
WOW!! ハンナさん 今年秋唐沢行かれたんですか・・? ビックリしました 唐沢は、メチャ混んでたでしょう
Hannah, did you go to Karasawa this fall? I was surprised 😯 Karasawa must have been very crowded.

But Initial D though 😂
It was funny when he said bogan.
I'm pretty sure no one in the biz or in general wants to be associated with F&F Tokyo Drift movie, or even wants it to exist :D
That's the last fast and furious movie about cars bro, come on... they even settle the final fight with cars
🏎️🏎️☁️🤍
金持ちならこれやりたい
お金持ってなきゃこれ出来んでしょ
Sub for ypu really nice video and coriagraphy
Bro said yeah nah. He’s hanging around kiwis
Peep the QLD number plate though 👀 He’s been hanging around Australians too haha
I wonder if you knew you have a fellow Australian UA-camr that does drifting content and is a pretty awesome drifter - Alexi @ Noriyaro
