Rock solid as always! You should give a listen to Smith’s “Dance Folatre”. In my USAF Band days played Festival on a recording and at least one tour, but never “Dance Folatre”. Challenging to say the least and his horn writing on that one is a different kind of crazy. ;)
Played Emperata Overture at All Northwest with my school Symphonic Band that was accepted to play. Claude T Smith was well acquainted with Dr Daniel Larson, who is from Great Falls, Montana, where I live. It's so cool to be connected to these great people.
Scott, you should try and play the sacred pipe horn part and measure 39. It’s a very new piece that came out a year or so ago and I think that part’s pretty cool.
Claude T. Smith is from my hometown. He wrote amazing pieces. You should play Anthem for the Winds and Percussion!
Memories of TMEA all state band in 1993!
This comment is so cool
Claude was a friend and a great horn player. We premiered many of these pieces including this one.
Who’s “we?” (I know the answer.)
That sustain though!!!

The horn part for this piece is so amazing, especially when the sextuplets hit later in the blasting part.
Sounds great, Scott!
Actually somewhat sounds like the Zelda theme, minus all the sustained notes

You should play "horn of plenty". That would sound great!
the triplet part with the high c at the end is so cool but so challenging
Great! Love the piece too! Bravo!
Great piece!i played it in Brazil with the são paulo state wind band back in 2013 Good memories
I fucking LOVE this piece. First time I played it was in college…damn it’s super fun. Euph part. But almost every part is dope.
Reminds me a bit of Warren Barker's Les Mis
I studied music at Central Methodist, as did Claude. You should play the horn hymn section from His Etermal Father Strong to Save. AKA The Navy Hymn
Wow, very nice! I love it!

Easiest french horn orchestral excerpt

FESTIVAL VARIATIONS
That Bb lasted longer than most high school relationships
you should do the solo in the lyrical section as well
I played it in my college band’s concert two years ago
It is difficult for me
I would never be able to hold a not for that look especially a not that high.
I was the second one to like the video and the first to comment!!
Band is so unhinged
Can you do American Overture for Band by Joseph Willcox Jenkins? That starts with a heckuva horn part too
Boy has some lungs on him!!!!
I can’t double tongue for the life of me and I need some help lol!
I kinda dig it
Please do liberty fanfare!!!
Third measure, 2nd to last note is incorrect (both times). It’s an F.
