- The existence of this weapon confirms that, no matter how useless you may become, you can never become the worst.
I am proud to be one of like ten people who have actually completed the javelin directive.

Since "Celeste" is a female name in spanish (also a color) I think someone on the dev team dated a latina called Celeste, got dumped and this is his way to take revenge on the world.
As a spanish speaker, that makes sense. I really had no fucking idea why would someone name a weapon "light blue".
well, dev had succeeded in making me associate the name Celeste with extreme hatred.

welp, this weapon certainly does lot of hurting to its users.
But there's an upside - every kill you can mark on the calendar.
it feels like a weapon designed off the nostalgia of the tribes games, but without any of the punch or satisfying reward of using any of the nostalgic things from the tribes games

Water pistol is not a meme weapon. Its pretty good. Apart from that, i wouldnt wish for my worst enemy having to aurax the abomination that is the Celeste

I am sorry to betray you Chino. Battlefield 1 was 2€, so I have stopped tormenting myself playing NSO
What about the 4th of july firework guns? They can't even kill a infantry with all headshots per clip/mag.
I was actually planning to use firework gun as comparison originally. Both flare gun and celeste are 50m/s muzzle velocity, but one of them has the time to kill of 1 whole minute
I just want to know who made this. the Planetside 2 developers need to tell us why this weapon exists and why it handles like this

I had to do it out of spite against evil psychopath who crunched stats for this weapon!
Devs wasted so much development time and content on robots, only to make them objectively bad at anything, ALL WHILE IT WOULD TAKE TO MAKE THEM FUN IS JUST A SIMPLE STAT TEXT FILE CHANGE.
Daybreak really hate the NSO but refusing to just outright remove them from the game.
Its not even another noob trap from devs, you cant use them until rank 20 (i think?) what even the point???
Like come on, even i can make it fun and still balanced, without being hired as game developer:
Fire delay - removed, Shots per fire: 2 > 4, Projectile speed: 50 > 150, Reload Speed: 5 > 2.
Done! its not that hard, its "identity" is still there but its no longer useless and I DARE FOR ANYONE TO CALL THIS OVERPOWERED
@@LazyBuddyBan Not to crush your ego too much but yeah that would unfortunately be overpowered.
It would be doing 2400 damage against the front armor on tanks per volley, that is 4800 damage in the first 2-4 seconds of the fight(depends on how long between shots) so a Javelin could fly up behind a tank and do 3600 damage, reload in 2 seconds then dump 2400-3600 more damage into them.
It would be trivial to kill even MBTs, 2 or 3 Javelins would evaporate groups of tanks on their own if they could attack from the rear or sides which is easy to do with a Javelin.
Even if you kept it at only 2 shots per reload that would still be more damage than a Lightning AP does with 1 second shorter reload though the delay between shots eats up some of that time it would still be powerful.
Oof... I had no clue the Celeste was so bad.
unfortunately, this weapon is only used like once or twice a year in each server, so people barely get to witness its true bad-ness.

Nooo you have to show how bad the aim is with it when it tries to hit enemies up close!
Oddly, 0:16 was the only good example I had of projectile going in a completely wacky direction. But of course, the weapon is design to throw off aim with 50m/s and delay burst fire to begin with, so I can never tell whether it's actually a bug or a impossible aim.
