I'm sure they just don't have the budget for that. I mean, they've got to buy the cars, they've got to register them, they've got to buy fuel. While I would love to see that, I don't think it's happening any time soon
If they can spend stupid money putting a V6 in an MX5 or restoring a Mazda rotary, I think they've got enough to each buy a car for 500 pounds and race them.
The thing is...the standard Ka with the newer 1.3 Duratec SOHC is actually a brilliant car in the corners. It's what I have as my first car, and on a local twisty road with up and downhill hairpins I outran my mate in his mk3 Golf 1.6 CL. I honestly can't decide if I want to make it a project or just get a nicer car when my insurance finishes in September.

The SportKa is just a standard Ka with a nicer interior, body kit, nicer alloys and a more powerful 1.6 engine putting out 95 bhp. The StreetKa is a convertible with the same engine as the SportKa but because it's a convertible it's much heavier.
Jacob White mate I live in Australia so stuffs a bit different here. For the 2007 V6 it cost me around 950 a year for registration and 65 a month for insurance and it cost me 275 for stamp duty tax

I bought a 4 door v6 with cold air con, 2002 model... Drove fine and passed checks. 40 Australian Dollars... Like 22 quid. Thats my record margin as a Wholesaler.... sold it for 1200.
Fiat coupes before that surely. 5 cylinder turbo means tun-ability. Maybe - not sure how strong the block and head are. Good looking car tho. Worth a punt.

Actually, it can go to maybe 300hp with parts from other Lancia and Fiat engines, no need for expensive, custom made tuning parts, like for the 5 cylinder one.
Put it this way, I haven't watched top gear since Clarkson, May and Hammond were off. But I have watched a CarThrottle video at least once or twice a week! Imagine if they did like an India special, an hourlong feature on buying a cheap car in rupees to road trip across India 😂
@@clauds5th352 once you do general maintenance yes. It's a smooth ride considering it's age. It's specially good on corners because it's a low car. If you mod it you can get a good amount of power.

The thing I love about this is that he genuinely tutored him on the best line to take round the entire track for five laps (probably more) and he was still able to beat the time hahaha
