I'm moving into halls next month and I'm super nervous. None of my friends from school are going there and I know nobody who's already there so...ahhhh scary stuff.
Congratulations, it's brilliant to know you'll be joining us! It's understandable that you're a bit nervous but honestly it will all fall into place when you arrive. You're not alone, there are lots of students in the same boat and the best way to meet people straight away is to say hi to other students who are moving into your hall. There are lots of other ways to meet people and make friends, the halls is just the start we promise. Check out some more of our videos talking about making friends and living in halls. Our students know best so we'll let them tell you what it's really like. Here's a couple to start you off: ua-cam.com/video/Eed22lpoc-c/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/gkF3dEa3UcI/v-deo.html See you soon!
Hi there. It's great to hear you're joining us in January. All you need to know is on these welcome pages, including information about accommodation: www.nottingham.ac.uk/studentservices/welcome/starting-in-january/before-you-arrive/index.aspx If you have further questions you can contact the accommodation office directly using the contact details on this page: www.nottingham.ac.uk/accommodation/contact.aspx
Hi Daniel, it depends what hall you live in. You can check out all the different accommodation options here: www.nottingham.ac.uk/accommodation/ and feel free to drop the accommodation team a message to ask about anything.
Hi there. It depends what type of accommodation you choose to live in. For example; if you're in catered halls, during the week you will get a sit down breakfast and evening meal and a weekly allowance loaded onto your university student card that you can spend in multiple locations across the university on lunch/snacks. If you needed a packed meal to go, your dining hall could arrange that. There are also self-catered accommodation options. Have a look at our accommodation options here: www.nottingham.ac.uk/accommodation/ The information at the bottom of this page tells you more about the food: www.nottingham.ac.uk/accommodation/undergraduate/accommodation-options/catered/index.aspx If you have any more questions please contact the accommodation team using their details at the bottom of the web page.
