I’ve been at UoN for 6 years now, from BSc to (hopefully) PhD. It’s a fantastic uni and one of the best cities to be a student in. Having said that the first 2 months were easily some of the worst of my life, very tough settling in, campus halls aren’t in blocks so its a bit tougher to adjust and meet people easily. I broke up with my then gf too, but like your experience it really helps you in an odd way to bed in with your new mates. 5 years later, I can honestly say sticking it out was more than worth it. To all those worried about this september, just stick with it!
thank you for this vid! i went to the open day on friday and i'm def going to include it in my five choices. can see where you're coming from with the layering advice as was exhausted after trekking around all day haha but it's a beautiful campus. best of luck for your second year!
Casey thank you so much!! Omg amazing, I agree the campus is beautiful that was one of my main reasons for choosing it! I hope we see you next year maybe potentially😊
I’m starting at Nottingham university this year hopefully if the situation gets better. One thing that I would like to ask you is “What kind of a crowd you have in your university and the students are more into the studies or they are just hanging around in the uni”?
i'm going to uon for a semester as an exchange program thingy and i'm so excited!! i'd love to see a video on what to do in nottingham / a tour around the city / night life in nottingham haha
Heey lovely! I recently made a video called top 10 things to do in Nottingham ua-cam.com/video/fJBnFZvMPFc/v-deo.html - but I would love to do videos specifically on the other two as well, thank you!!:)
Hiyaa I love your vids 👏 I'm starting uni this year and have applied to nottingham haven't got an offer yet but I've had to fill in my fee status on mynottingham account. Is this normal?
If you want to be super social, I would recommend catered halls! Although, I was in Broadgate park and defo was still able to be social. Just depends what kind of experience you are after x
Hey Ella!!! I had no idea you went to Notts too ☺️ I really appreciate you making this and talking about your loneliness during freshers 💕have you been asked to join the digi ambassador team yet? Basically the people who make vids for the uni YT channel. See you end of September :-)
Hannah Stewart hey babe, I’ve never been to Sutton bonington but I believe it is about 20-30 mins away from the main campus. I think they have a lot of their own bars and clubs n stuff but I know people who still travel on to the main campus for societies and club nights🤷🏼♀️ dm me on insta x
Hannah Stewart I study Agriculuture and business management and stay at SB. It’s about 15-20 minutes from University park campus (main campus). There’s a free bus every 30mins mon-Fri going to the main campus, tram at Clifton south that goes into the city about £2.30 I think all day travel. We actually go clubbing but to come back people normally take taxis ( overtime you can make friends that stay in the city and stay over it’s fun!) But overall put yourself out there take time to get know people join societies you’ll meet loads of people that way. I’ve gone overboard but it’s not that bad.. whatever campus you’re on it’s what you make it
A Google Account heey! Congratulations you must be so excited💓 I was really nervous too before I went, but literally within a few hours the nerves go once you meet the people you’re living with and see your room n stuff - I hope it goes well!! X
literally half my sixth from is already there (i took an art foundation course so I was a year late) but i'm only friends with one girl lmfao. i'm quiet and a slight introvert so it takes me AGES to make a friend. i'm scared lol
Moving to Notts tomorrow and I’m so anxious... don’t know anyone, not really in group chats either... and I have a studio so I don’t have a shared kitchen (where everyone usually meets everyone)... like I got some freshers tickets but I don’t wanna go alone sooo might have to throw it away ahaha...
Yes I do, I think overall they had a good experience although it's not that close to University Park campus compared to the other accommodations so some people said they felt a little excluded x
