This method does seem to have left marks in my mould ... Someone did comment and say that it had happened to hers in the past. I just checked tonight ... mine also have subtle marks that I could only see by holding my moulds up to the light. I do not know if this will impact future projects but I do know that a top coat will hide it anyway. Please only re-create this at your own risk.
In this video I show you how I made these gorgeous trinket trays by painting directly on the moulds. The moulds and foil are linked below if you would like to purchase them. They are Affiliate links at no extra cost to you but supports me and my channel.
I paint black acrylic paint directly on the moulds and place the foil directly on to dry silicone mould also. noglue is needed.

Update: This method does seem to leave subtle marks in silicone moulds. It was brought to my attention and I checked mine. Mine are only visible when held up to the light so I do not yet know what the long term impact will be.
Please try this method at your own risk and I will try and update this when I have.
I always top coat so I know the top coat will hide marks. However if you do not want to top coat, possibly avoid this method.
why do you not mix the resin 50/50 ?
Can you try this with jesmonite and see how that turns out?

You are right to be excited about them, they are all amazing! It looked like the thicker paint coat grabbed well into the resin and just leave the smoothness of the mould.
My brother paint the bodies of slotracing and r/c cars the backwards way and it blows my mind when he do 3D effects etc like it's nothing.

I wasn't totally convinced acrylic paint right on the mold, would work... obviously, you proved it will. This could open up a slew of possibilities... could an entire scene be painted on a mold, then resined?!?!? Amazing results Claire... can't wait to see more experiments. !!! PS: Bridgerton was really a good show!!!

You nailed the leopard spots!!!! I mean you nailed them all but I feel like those would be the most challenging to me. Probably bc id over think it and it would look like polka dots. Plus you got the foil bits-and the color is to die for. Omg they are stunning and the white with zebra stripes is like soooo pure! The way the acrylic paint just blends right into the resin...brilliant. Yes leave the leopard de molding for last!! Love the bright magenta...it is incredible. You are incredible. Love ya!!! ❤️

These are so cool! I'm not an animal print person but these look like fun to make. I think the pink was a great choice. I know that "IT WORKED" feeling. Haha! I've been taking over the house too with my art. We finally got our kitchen island back. Well, mostly. Hehe!

Thank you for this video! I have been really curious about using acrylic paints in my moulds. I love mica powder but it's so messy and doesn't stay put for me so I was wanting to try painting, but I didn't know how well painting a mould beforehand would work. So awesome to see that it came out well for you! I'll have to try a small project this weekend to test it myself.
