It’s a debatable subject. The techs will always tell you to swing forward. The meter on the right side is showing reflective power. Swinging back is ok (better the forward) on a bird line section meter. As far as the output on the left. We use rms slugs and meters (not peek slugs and or meters). If it were a peek meter it would be swinging forward. Sometimes you may hear someone with a big maul but no audio. That is a guy who has it turned up to high and is overdriving/swinging backwards. 22 and I give each other radio checks on a regular basis to make sure we don’t swing back or lose audio. You will notice at the end of that video, all the video gates/audio checks. That thing has great audio even at 8k. Now you may notice that it is barely swinging forward on the gates. That’s because he is to close lol. He would have to drive for a half hour (maybe more)before we would see it go forward. Hope this info helps. Keep on maul droppin. Catch you in the world of sound. I know I wouldn't want to be too close to you. With all that rf its kinda hard on a receiver. The audio was super good at the end, so you know things are going in the right direction. The average Joe doesn't understand the money and time and experimentation that goes into a set up like that. I'm too close too hear you, about 250 miles. I would love too see you guys go to lake Michigan and have some chains or cables hooked to your chassis and put them in the lake. Your stuff looks good. It's probably 5k suburban 5k alternators and bracket. 5k 64 pill parts. 5k miscellaneous like caps and batteries and wires. Not counting countless hours of trial and error. I think. At least 20k maybe more.

A als600 600 watt amp doesn't even shut itself down until 75 watts if reflect. If it's a well built amp then it can handle some but at 1 watt for every thousand that's great. That's 5 or 6 watts for five or six kw output not 50 or 60.

64 transistors should put out not too much more than 8 kilowatts max peak, that’s 800 watts average that than swing up to 8000 peak. If you do that, you’ll have an AM broadcast quality signal, and the transistors will last you forever.

You need 20A per 2879 to get full power. A 64 pill will pull 1200 or better. But that amp is pretty weak. I see better than this out of a 32 pill. My 32 would key 12kw and back up to 8k. It would key 6 and swing to 8. No peak kit. 10kw would be 150 watts per transistor. Amp is running fairly weak brother.
Do you want to produce splatter? You shouldn't squeeze more than 60-80 watts, depending on voltage, out of a 2SC because the extra dB are wasted if the modulation is messed up. Unless you're running FM, it doesn't play such a big role. Higher Voltage, better IMD

And that's in a lossless circuit. You'll typically see a few tenths drop here and there, which at 20 or so amps all adds up). W8JI showed a 2879 doing over 200 watts before. He designed an amp that does 125 watts plus per 2879. They meet spec. The Toshiba 2879 was a failed 28 volt Motorola clone. This was done at the behest of a guy that sold a lot of rf parts and stuff on the west coast. Because it was supposed to be a 28 volt device, it's really underrated at 13.8 volts. And the numbers show it. I run 16 x 2879s in a legal limit mobile. Nobody complains.

Yeah, my hatred for these people is UNREAL. I run 200w on 10 meters (legally) and very, very, very easily get 5/9 all over the world. Then I look at my spectrum display and see THE HARMONICS from these guys all the way from 11 meters. When a channel 6 station keys up, I will see 4 or 5 spikes of modulation allllllll up and down the 11 and 10 meter bands. Sure, they are putting THOUUUUSANDS of watts down the coax.........but only a quarter of it ends up on the actual frequency they're transmitting on, thus making it nothing but a shit splatterbox. And for what???? So they can key up and say the same things over and over 10000 times every day? I hope your stupid suburban catches fire and I hope the FCC takes AALLLLl your equipment and fines you into obvlivion. You're not a radio operator, you're just a loud obnoxious shuck-and-jive idiot.

RMS at the best imd e.g bjt imd at 14.5V is about 80W, subtract about 1/4 to 1/5, so your amp runs at 4KW RMS 8KW Peak. Use async modulation.

Channel 6 is the reason licensed operators make fun of CB. THOUSANDS OF WATTS just to talk over eachother, to say the same thing over and over, to the same people, every day.
not against high power, but, its a waste of money when mother nature call the shots. with all that power, you cant be heard except local when mother nature does not put your signal out there. even a 4 watts radio with the right antenna and mother nature, can be heard 4k miles away. JUST SAYING!🤔

@@bigdEnergy666 you didn't break a pile up with five watts at all. you called and got heard between the big guns and got lucky the op was probably listening for /qrp callsigns. I've been doing qrp on all bands from the worlds longest fishing pier for about 15 years with almost 200 dxcc worked at 5 watts. I know a little something about it. I prefer cw over any other mode. Learned that in my teens and I'm year thirty of this radio hobby. By looking around at ham fest and the state of most ham operators I'm pretty sure it's you that's never had a woman. @@TexasPrisonStories I suppose all of the times I have "keyed, lol" on my neighbor 20 miles away is just impossible since he was running a 10k pep ghostrider. It's all about propagation. You probably don't even have a forever tech ticket.
