5 months old Rottweiler alias DOT brought to clinic from thoothukudi District .
Presented with Hip dysplasia and pain in hip region. Distance between Thoothukudi and Ranipet is almost 650 km. Hip dysplasia is an inherited condition resulting from an improperly formed hip joint.
Hip dysplasia is an inherited condition resulting from an improperly formed hip joint. Because the joint is loose, the dog's leg bone moves around too much, causing painful wear and tear.
Hip dysplasia is more common in large and giant breeds like rottweiler, labrador, Gsd, Great Dane etc. Hip dysplasia-affected dog, should not be allowed to walk or run in hard surface, cement road and slippery floor. Running and long walk in hard surface, cement road will induce lots of wear and tear in joints, also causes Pain.
Hip dysplsia affected dog should have plenty of rest.Loose, sandy soil surface is ideal choice for Hip dysplasia affected dog and walking Loose, sandy soil surface,will not induce any stress nor wear and tear in joints. So dont allow / take your HD affected for long walk & run. we should not feed to much of carbohydrates like Rice cereal, grain based commercial dog foods for HD affected dog. Feeding of rice/carb will increases the fat content and body weight of the dog. Increase in body weight, in turn will put / cause more stress in hip dysplasia affected hip joint. Therefore, we have to maintain ideal weight body weight in HD affected dogs.
As per my experience, chicken meat with bones, chicken wing end and wing end tips is ideal diet. HD affected dog, i use to recommend up 1.5 kg chicken meat for hd affected Dogs based on their age and breed. i had treated, countless Hip dysplasia affected dogs with good diet plan, supplements and homeo medicine. Almost 99 % of Hip dysplasia affected, recovered fully after my treatment.
