Some people won’t be happy until Ryu is as broken as Luke lol. But these changes are a great step on the right direction, forcing the strike/throw mix more often really enhances Ryu’s pressure, and with his extra damage on OD Denjin Hashogeki, you can make things HURT if they press a button/whiff for not a lot of meter investment. We’re slowly getting there.
As a Ryu main, it's definitely made it a lot easier to rank up.... and then I get matched up vs. Ed and lose automatically. 😅 I need to learn that match-up before it sends me back to Rookie.
@@kriscotd76 well all the other released dlc also happened on the 27th, most of the dlc was mid season or late/ first month of it, also it has to be in the area of May or or else it will be a year since xD
No it wasn’t. Denjin should apply to tatsu and dp for atleast one extra hit and he needs a air fb. Its been 30 years and he still doesn’t hv the ability too. The lore of the character is not translated to his skill
I'm a bit disappointed, these minor buffs confirm he's never getting his denjin charge buffed the way he really needs, as in ryu won't be able to choose when to use it, they should have just buffed his denjin charge and left everything else the same, basically these small buffs guarantee we'll never get what we all wanted.
The buffs although great on Ryu, is 100% not enough. He still gets outpaced in the footsies, he still loses out in the fireball zoning, and to characters in the past that he NEVER lost to, which is absolutely wild considering Ryu used to be one of the Top-3 best fireball zoners in the game which was an absolute staple, but somehow...he's no longer this anymore, which is pathetic. Ryu still gets pressured a lot, and the Hashogeki is only for situations which involve that, however outside of that, he still struggles on all other aspects that will stop him from being used over other characters that can do what he's doing, but simply far, far better. I'm a Ryu purists since the days of SF2, so I will main him until kingdom come, however it's not to say that it's been an absolute brutal walk the past many years, Season 1 of SF5 was the LAST time that Ryu was really strong, and that was 2016. I should've been a Cammy player, because she hasn't been trash since the days of SF2.
doom posting. ryu is more than fine, he's not top 5 but he's absolutely not low tier. he's solidly upper mid-tier with the geki buffs. way better than a lot of the cast
@@yeyeande He isn't fine. He will never be used in tournaments, and will never be competitive at this rate. Someone like Cammy consistently stays Top-Tier throughout SF4, SF5 and now SF6, and Capcom can't make their #1 Posterboy into a legitimate character? Come on now, I'm beginning to believe their is someone at Capcom who has a Cammy fetish, while Ryu pissed in Top Capcom executives Cherrios.
Still can't throw fireballs in Denjin. That's the biggest buff we can get.
The big patch coming up i bet we will be able to choose when to use denjin
That would be so nice. Having to basically stop throwing fireballs stinks.
The big patch should come for ryu to beat akuma.

How do we use the heavy Hashogeki for oki, i cant seem to land it after a knockdown. Also what other scenarios would we be able to land it.
I was one of those people who used Hashogeki all the time before it was buffed. Chip off that drive Gauge, man. 💪

yeah i'm still getting knowledge checked on that match up but we'll eventually get there
Akuma supposed to be spring not summer
Mid June is still spring but I bet Akuma isn't til may 27*
Probably early June maybe May
@@BKsunstar I would say may the latest ..June damn near summer ,with Evo not too far off

Akuma is going to be the Rashid at Evo. Short period and many will pick him. Evo is looking good.

That would actually be kinda cool, lile kens inhanced specials

You shouldnt throw fb in dinjn anyway, it was too strong in sfv xD

Yes. This is evident in many tournaments where it is extremely rare that there is a ryu player. I am a ryu player too from the OG SF2.
