I love how realistic this video is *-* like that one mustard top Jessica was wearing on the last video where they talked about traveling essentials 🤓🤓🤓
I love your how too pack series I find it so helpful and relaxing I wish I could travel with you one day you seem like a nice and cool person too hangout with on travels with
Absolutely! Shoes, too! I have to use a shared washing room with my apartment complex and there's no way that laundry basket is going on the bed either, lol.
I enjoy your videos. I travel for 2 months with a carry-on at least once a year and several weeks at a time about 4 other trips a year. My tip is buy one of those rolling clothing racks (I also use it to air-dry washed garments). Hang up the clothing you think you'll take. Pare down and plan how to mix & match with everything you're taking with the clothing on the rack. Then use the bed to first fold pants, add base layers, then top layers. Lay out individual outfits and try to make sure most items go with at least 2 pair of pants. I never pack jeans, they take up too much room and are difficult to hand launder. I pack quick-dry pants, skirts, and tops - very easy to hand wash and everything I take must dry overnight even in humid conditions. I take 2 skirt/pant hangers and 2 plastic hangers for hand laundry, also clothespin hangers for undies and socks. I use Eagle Creek Specter Tech cubes, as they are absolutely THE best. I have five sets of the S/M compression cubes, they are better than any other brand or EC line. I use tube cubes for scarves and socks. I can pack a LOT more than what you show in my compression cubes! Toiletries, medications, etc. go in my older Specter quarter cubes and other EC "Sacs."My next luggage purchase will be that Wayfinder Women's Pack in the 30L size, it looks like a total winner and I like the colors offered. Thanks, Jessica, for another great video. You're a real asset to Eagle Creek.
Thanks for the compliment, Dianne! AND for sharing your tips with us. LOVE love love the idea to pack quick-dry items and to bring your own hangers. I have stayed in AirBnBs where those are missing. Thrilled that you love those Specter Tech Cubes, too. They change everything, don't they?! The Wayfinder will rock your world, too. Super comfy and tons 'o pockets. #winning!
I love your video - I'm going to Morocco for two weeks and was wondering the best way to pack using only one carry on or underseat back pack. I will definitely try to the packing cubes!
Totally onboard with everything but you lost me at the 5 tops for 2 weeks in a hot sweaty climate. How much laundry did you do? Would love to see a cold weather 2 week carry on video really putting those cubes to use.
Totally hear ya! I tend to do laundry in the sink once or twice - because I love buying tops and dresses for when I'm out and about. The Folder can fit twice as much as I put in it, so if you'd rather bring more, totally doable! See how much extra space in my bag was still all freed up at the end of the video? (Plus, don't forget that I wore a top on the plane, so that's six!) And good idea about doing a video around packing for winter. We did a video about 4 years ago... that one was for packing for Boston in the Fall. A little less polished, but check it out! ua-cam.com/video/M3LFyP_HSoA/v-deo.html
Loved how you packed. I have the same folder and cubes and love them. I use disposable shower caps for the soles of my shoes. Just a question. Did you pack swimsuits? Thought you might have forgotten them. And flip flops.
Good question! Yeah, I packed one stripped bathing suit. I typically pack suits in the same cube as underwear and socks, so in the video you'll see it stacked there. As far as the shoes, with a carry-on you've got to make tough decisions, so I opted for the other sandals in this example. Totally a personal call! Quick question: Have you try out our Shoe Sacs, yet? They are washable and keep all the dirt on the soles of shoes contained. I can't travel without mine. :-)
Hi Rachel, the product featured in the video is the classic carry on size. But here's the international Tarmac that does meet the EU size restrictions: www.eaglecreek.com/shop/tarmac-international-carry-on-ec0a34p5?variationId=125#hero=0
@@eaglecreek can you do a 2 week European packing video with the international size tarmac? These packing videos are so helpful and I'm heading to Greece this summer.
In the video it says the backpack is 40L but you can see it’s actually the 30L. Which size actually fits as the personal item under the seat? And for international flights under the seat?
Sorry one of your comment is long wish i can travel but only thing i usually go far is to my homestate and wish this would work for me, but every summer i go to my home state from Arizona to New Jersey for a month of August, so we be coming from 112 degrees to 80 degrees with humitdy and we spend family beach (old house) our washer dryer got wash from Hurricane Sandy so we have bring to my uncles, what you think best way to pack? should i try 2 weeks next time? I can always go shopping with my aunt or run into Walmart get more. and should i leave it there for next time?
Sorry! Just seeing this. It's a Medium size. If you're shopping the new Folders, sizing changed, so you'd want to pick up the Large. See the new style here: www.eaglecreek.com/shop/packing-folders/pack-it-reveal-garment-folder-ec0a496m?variationId=340
@@eaglecreek I think the OP meant you put dirty shoes on the clean clothes on the bed. .before putting them in the shoe sack later in the video to pack everything.
6:27 Sticker says "30L W" - caption says 40L. Well I go with the label on the backpack. Because fooling people into believing some 40L are personal item size, thats something that Osprey would do. Not you too, Eagle Creek, right? ;) My rule is: 20L for personal item, and 40L for carry-on, then you are safe all around the world.
Good catch! The graphic in the video is incorrect. You can tell because the bag doesn't have the side zip water pockets like the Wayfinder 40L pack does. Whoops!) Like you, I personally like to travel with a 20L backpack/personal item because I prefer a slimmer profile. If you don't fully pack out the capacity of a larger personal item carry-on bag, it may still meet the criteria for your under-the-seat bag - particularly if you can smoosh it down. BUT you're totally right in that a 40L personal item is a bit of a stretch. Much safer to go with a 30L or 20L pack. Thanks for the call-out, keeping us honest, and providing intel for other travelers!
Could totally be for a 5 day trip. Especially if you like bringing options. How would you pack differently for a 2 week trip? We love collecting fellow traveler tips!
Great idea! We love this trick, too. Consider stuffing those socks and undies in an antimicrobial Pack-It Sac (and then inside your shoes) to keep them a bit more separate from any dirt inside your shoes. It's a win-win! www.eaglecreek.com/shop/pack-it-isolate-sac-set-xs-s-m-ec0a48yl
You didn't include any first aid items. I've sprained my ankle. Fallen and skinned knees, face, elbows on three occasions. OK. So I'm a Klutz. But when one is hurting one doesn't want to have to go on a search for aspirin, bandaids and so on.
Thank you so much for your comment. We know that disaster can strike at any moment, so bringing a small first aid kit is essential. We will try to incorporate first aid kits in our packing videos in the future.
Pack-It Specter was our lightest weight packing option... until now! Check out the all new Pack-It Isolate line. It's ultra-light AND anti-microbial. www.eaglecreek.com/shop/pack-it-isolate
As someone who's a big fan of going to the beach and swimming, i noticed you didn't pack any swimmers. If your going to visit the beach do you really want sand in ur nice denim shorts? Why not take swimwear?
Thank you for your feedback! We we're showing those who travel to beach destinations how to pack smart. We know that not everyone is a swimmer because some just like the view:)
I cannot believe she placed the shoes on the clothes. Even if they are brand new, they have been tried in the store. Always pack shoes in bags to separate from clothes.
I pack books as it limits my initial packing but frees up space/weight as I read the books and leave them for others, so I know I'll have room for any bits that I buy. Oh, I like reading in the bath too!
nividi kevichusa I don’t carry books, just my e reader. But as I like paper travel guides much better than digital, I mail them to the first hotel in my trip. I already told my Japan hotel I am sending a padded envelope with three travel guides so they’ll be waiting there for me when I go in a few months.
That’s more than enough stuff. I bring a 300ml bottle of woolite with me, and do laundry in the sink. I can travel for weeks with the pants I wear on the plane, the shoes I’m wearing, and a few t shirts, socks, and pairs of underwear. The freedom you will gain from bringing less is worth the small sacrifice in fashion flair you’ll lose. Pack lite!
Am I the only one who saw this as a commercial for whatever bag and suitcase brand she uses? I use this and that totes brand and this suitcase brand. I have plastic grocery bags a second hand suitcase that's half dead and the need to bring yarn and things along. This isn't only one big advert but also useless for anyone who just has poor people supplies.
Actually, you can adapt these methods to other brands and even plastic or fabric bags you may already own. They might add all of a pound or two to the weight and can work as well in a pinch. Also, I had to laugh at the "one big commercial" comment, since this IS the Eagle Creek channel... what were you expecting? As a 25 year fan of EC products, I would definitely recommend them... even if you only buy one product to help with your most pesky packing problem. The one I can't live without is the Fold-it for my nicer dress clothes.
So organized, clear, and concise, thankyou for posting!

If you use light weight items and limit your heavier clothing, you can stay below 7kg :)
