For 20 years if you had mentioned Kittie to me I thought they were a teen goth girl pop rock band, never gave them a chance. I put them on as a joke yesterday and they are absolutely brutal! Very very impressed! Can't believe I judged them wrongly for so long!
A lot of people misjudged them even in the metal community. I always thought it was because they were girls and young. They overlooked them. They had awesome hard rock riffs in Spit. Oracle was better.
Hole?.....absolutely.....the atmosphere....the vocal styling....the emotional tone..... the physical impact....the chord progression....all of it....although they don't sound like Hole,they have a VERY similar musical sensibility
My daughters 37 and I’m 67. I used to take her to Kittie concerts when she was 15 and 16 years old. She got to know them, and to this day she still has the bracelets that each of them gave her.. I also really remember seeing them at ozzfest and them having me go up on the stage so I wouldn’t get hurt in the mosh pit . My daughter, Karissa, really liked Talena and when she got pregnant and found out it was a girl she wanted to keep the K names because her grandmother started that tradition so she named her daughter Kalena. There are so many memories that I have of all the times that we’ve seen them.
I've seen many interviews with the band and especially Morgan, and I've always loved how well-spoken and intelligent she is. She mentioned people having preconceived notions when they first see them. It reminds me of interviews I've seen with Marilyn Manson: some interviewers try to push some sort of agenda or something and he then highlights his intelligence and thoughtfulness.
I bought it also when it came out, their other cds just were Not as Good Morgan just did the growling voice all the time & they had way too many line up changes. I still like them though

No, they're on Hiatus. They'll be touring for their future albums. They also don't perform in Arenas. They perform in Bars. (a lot of shows are all ages.)

Cool show. I first got into Kittie in 2000. Had an official VHS concert they put out back then. Bought the DVD about four years ago to replace the VHS since i sold all my VHS in about 2006.
They were everything in middle school for me and much needed for the angst and anger many of us felt then lol of course I couldn't afford sweet platforms then and my mom wouldn't pay for them,but I wanted a pair so bad.
I seen them live in 2002. They were one of my favorite bands back then. It’s dope that they got back together and played the Sick New World festival not too long ago!
I absolutely love these ladies! They are as good as any guy band out there, even better than some. I have all of their albums, and listen to them a lot. Rock on ladies!! 😎🤘
