i dont understand why the tournament scene stopped for ki. the game is freaking insane. i kept hearing there wasnt too many people who watch it but yet when i see top 8, the whole room is filled. it doesnt have a street fighter audience but no game compares to sf. ms dropped the ball on this game when it went "teen" rated and couldnt keep double helix in house. all these movies that went from pg13 to rated r are doing way better than ever. im not looking for mortal kombat stuff but this game had gore galore also. and they took that away. thats what made ki 1 and 2 classics
I theorize that Microsoft hasn't push the advertise enough. You see Capcom and Namco? They contact their playerbase quite alot, Even their producers participate and interact with the community. Netherealm Studio does it too, with teaser and twitter post. Imo Microsoft might be one of veteran developer and publisher, but their hype game was that of an amateur. In fighting game community they can't act high and mighty like they did with their software market. This way Microsoft steadily left KI to rot which is a damn shame. Killer Insticnt is a perfect blend of western and eastern fighting game.
spookytube28 Unfortunately this game was DOA, KI only got better as time went on but it had such a strange launch, on a console people were utterly hating on at the time, and didn’t receive the promotion it should have to match the support that went into it when Iron Galaxy took over. This game is fantastic but the only way to save it is to let it die, and have a successful sequel. No amount of updates will get this games popularity where it should be, so if MS is trying to step things up on the first party side of things, make a sequel!
OnlyBadSalmon You are right. Now that KI has finally returned, a sequel is the only way to really solidify the series as a serious contender to Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter.
@@OnlyBadSalmon one year old UTTER bullshit of what you are saying DOA my ass when the game got 10 million individual players as well as featured on EVO mainstage minimum 3 times .. heck it was to be on EVO AGAIN THIS YEAR (until evoexcecs had to screw up) this game is STILL actively played, it´s one of the very few FGs that has crossplay along with probably the best netcode for onlineplay MAYBE with only skullgirls truely rivaling it in that yea it started with few characters, and no storycampaign .. screw storymodes anyway because you play them ONCE and that´s it .. arcade matters more and yes KI3 imho lacked in the arcade area were it should have had standart arcademode for each of its characters than just having it for season 1, were season 2 characters got a bit of a linea stroryfocused arcade and season 3 characters did´t get anything in that regard shadowlords for season 3 was quite the big addtion for this game but realy other than that it´s the coregameplay that matters and the gameplay and feeling of this game simply is like no other .. it´s amazing, it´s tense .. down to the wiremoments in this game are on another level ... it´s accessible and still deep as an ocean .. and the fact that it got support for 6 to 7 years and how many people played it despite having been a budgettitle speaks a lot for this game compared to something like guiltygear xrd were i dare to say that the average daily playercount for KI3 through its lifetime has been higher than that of guilty gear xrd up to rev2 .. @timmy _ Even so, those skulls can RRALLY turn the tide if skilled enough it seems. X3 I just hope every character in the game is great competitively and mainly deoending on player skill
@@bluewulv he has terrible defense options, he's extremely vulnerable without skulls, which means he starts every match at his weakest. He's a hard character to play.
Great vid!! But an obnoxious but true nitpick @6:38 did you just correct yourself for wrong grammar...seriously. Why the are people saying shit like "so much bars" That makes no grammatical sense. So many bars? Yeah sure. Jeezuz
