- A lot of people are fans of the Boston Bruins. I am not of one of them. I'm going through the entire Bruins organization - from the roster to the coaches to the offseason acquisition - and giving my prediction for how this team will fare this year.

Joonas korpisalo is not nearly as bad as you describe him, even on ottawa. Hes also playing well in the preseason. Poitras is tearing up the preseason and recovering from an injury as well.
Boston plays an aggressive style that doesn't really help in the playoffs, they need to find another top 6 center
I support Swayman at 100%, the goalie market has been fucked for years and his equivalent as a forward would get the bag no question asked.
Price and Bobs contracts are still the highest paid ever goalie contracts … signed back in 2017 … you’re going to tell me that nobody reached their level since ?
Highest AAV for forwards and D-Men almost reach new heights every season, for the goalies it’s going to take Shesterkin to play hard ball to barely get over Price … 8 years later, ridiculous.
Dropping a vid on the Swayman situation in a bit, but yeah the 8x8 he was reportedly offered is probably pretty reasonable. The question is whether the bridge has been burned so irreparably that he'd sign long-term like that.
Swayman hasn't been the starting goalie once in his life. Yet he asks Vasilevski money. 8m/8aav is really good as he is not on the level of Price/Vasi. Guy has 3 seasons in the NHL, two above .910 save% when playing 30+ games. Two of them with Ullmark playing as many games as him.
Don’t forget that Vasi took a significant discount like most of Tampa’s core did and that inflation is a thing.
If Boston didn’t think of Swayman as the clear #1 goaltender over Ullmark an experienced Vezina winner they wouldn’t have traded him.
They both split the net about equally in their time in Boston, it’s questionable to let the fact that they were 1a/1b influence the salary negotiation once they have obviously dropped that system.

Awful take, the kid has never played more than half a season. We picked him over ullmark for the sole reason that he is younger and he was developed in our system. Ullmark was getting payed 5 as a vezina winner. 8×8 is where this should have landed, but swayman knows he has all the power and he's taking full advantage of it and tearing apart the bruins. He's still mad about arbitration which is a normal process meant to help both sides. Bruins waved off arbitration this year to appease him and he decided to screw us. The Bruins have always been a cheap team that assumes a degree of loyalty from their players in terms of their willingness to take undervalued contracts. Swayman is not like that.
