Love the videos. My wife and I add challenges into our hunt as well. It gives us something to focus on while looking for the same allocations that everyone else is looking for. Ours this week was Penelope Rio. We know batch 1 was extremely limited and we know batch 2 is on the way in March. But, the fun was seeing if we could find it and at a reasonable price. Like you guys, we struck out!! Cheers!
I love the gumball machine idea. I may have to steal that idea for picking pours for people when they come over. Just give them a quarter and see what they win
Am I the only watcher of this video that is blown away by the fact that anyone would shell out $800 for a bottle of booze that's not old and not particularly rarely produced? Good Lord!
4:19 Just picked up some Eagle Rare here in Toronto - $64 CDN ($48 USD) for both the single barrel select and the 10 year straight. Saw it last weekend in Little Rock Arkansas for $140 USD
Watched this video right after it came out. The next day got an email from my local that said I could come get a bottle of MWND Act 11 Scene 1 for MSRP. It's out there!
I’m almost positive the first bottle of rendezvous y’all came across is one of the older batches & labels (2017- previous) & it contains 15-16 year old Barton blended with 6 year old MGP. Still an amazing bottle. Try it out sometime if it’s still available. The batch year is on the from of the bottle.
I LOVE the challenge editions! I know you were looking for MWND, but if not, you came across some other great bottles! We just received samples from Dark Arts Whiskey House and can't wait to dig into them. Great video, as always!
Jackson’s is the best spot in town, you guys should have totally grabbed that Elijah Craig pick it’s delicious and you have to try the Dickel store pick. Go back and grab them! Tell them Zach sent ya back!!!
Would be great to see u hunt for slightly older bottles, say like pre-2021 ECBP. But that’s kinda hard to find. OR Jack Daniels barrel proof rye, but a store or private picks only. Great vids I really like these hunting vids cause even if you don’t find what you’re looking for you still find other interesting bottles, like that 4R barrel proof.
I live in Colorado past couple months noticing more Buffalo Trace on shelves years ago it was much harder.🐃🥃Got a 750 ml last night for $24 most of time its $29-39
Eagle Rare in Kentucky is expensive. I pay $34.99. The store I regularly go to does bottle releases and Eagle Rare is the bottle I always get stuck with. I’m in New Mexico by the way.
Hi Sara and Chad. Great series. Sorry you struck out on this one. Sara, I live in the Chicago area and saw you this morning on Daytime Chicago. Great job!
I would love to see you guys find and taste a bottle of Distillers Cut from Jim Beam. It is not made any more to my understanding, but it really was a good pour in my opinion.
Love Distiller’s Cut! We have one opened and one saved as a back up. Haven’t seen it around is so long, that would be a pretty hard one to find in our area, but would be a cool pick up.
Have y’all tried any All Nations bourbon? I’ve seen the purple label 114 proof here in Louisiana. I’m sure y’all have, just wondering your thoughts on it before buying. Love the channel!
As few allocated bottles as there are around here (Portland, Maine), you at least don’t have to deal with the price markups, as the prices are controlled in this state.
My nephew in the UK can easily get ER10 in the local grocery store!! I don’t understand the import /export market but at least I know whey I go over there I have Eagle Rare!!!
At one point I heard everything BT was allocated, all the way down to Ancient Age. I don't know if that was true, really, but great to hear they are starting to catch back up to the demand.
Dunno. It’s hard for an LE to last in Lexington. Guess it’s just our market. Also, a lot of our stores seem to hold allocated bottles and release a bunch together or when they want to. Just yesterday I came across a Wild Turkey Master’s Keep One and Voyage.
This is an interesting concept, but the moral of the story is that you need to know what is on release in your market. If you ask for something by name that is in the back, you are more likely to get it. It took me a long time to figure this out. It is like the first rule of bourbon hunting. You can’t hunt stuff out of season.
Something’s gotta be done about price gouging. I’m not an expert in economics so I have no idea what I’m talking about. My gut feeling is it’s wrong and should be illegal.

THIS is a great series!!! Love the volatility of the hunt.. GREAT Whiskey Tube!!!! Thanks for the posting!
Of course, thank you!

This is a cool series idea. Love it. Keep doing these super interesting!!!
Although I've never seen the bottles y'all see in Kentucky but I'm fortunate to get Eagle Rare under $45.00. Love this series! Cheers Kevin

Put in a few malorts just to spice it up😂

15.5 years isn't exactly young
A lot of people say 15 years is the money spot for bourbon, anything older can get astringent and over oaked (not always)
...but $800?!
@@MichaelObamna that's right, I know even more people who think 12 is the sweet spot.
@@davidteller7681 yeah, not ever lol
Jackson’s is the best! Great people and best customer service by far! They treat everybody great and do very good store picks!
Ha! Bellow's is the rail that Drury Hotels used for their free manager's reception! That was a while back!
Love this series!

Should have driven to Cincinnati. I have a spare bottle of MWND in the bunker. Hehehe!
ER10 is usually 50 in northern co and moderately available. kc9 is 35-38 too
This format and production value is VERY entertaining! Thanks for making this 🥃
fun challenge. but you really tried. lots of good hunting. stuff. cheers
Love these hunting videos!😊🥃

That HW finished in Chardonnay barrels is really nice.
$800 for GTS is pretty darn good.

I caught a glimpse of the Old Pepper Bottled in Bond Rye. Have you had that or the BiB bourbon yet?
Yes, we have. Been a while though. Were you talking about the Pepper barrel proof that’s seen at Hi Acres? We’ve had that, too, and is very good.
Hunt some easy finds and some tough finds. Maybe an Evan William 1783 or a Harden product!!
Dark Arts is super dope. Just got the Bourbon Junkies pick of it
Lots of MWND in Vermont & New Hampshire @ MSRP

Johnny pickles distillery just opened up. Hopefully stocking stores before long.

Haven't tried it actually! Will have to be on the look out for it.

There’s tons of traveler near me for msrp in central Florida. Must not be that great.
I was shocked to get lucky today and find a MWND at retail at a Specs in north TX
Winter weather it hardly snowed any and there was some rain😂
My nephew in the UK can easily get ER10 in the local grocery store!! I don’t understand the import /export market but at least I know whey I go over there I have Eagle Rare!!!
Love this hunting Videos
How about a review on the new Woodford Batch Proof?
Good effort. Tough one
I heard recently that standard Buffalo Trace has come off allocation in KY.
As it should. It’s pointless to have their basic bourbon be allocated. It would be like Jim Beam white label being allocated.
At one point I heard everything BT was allocated, all the way down to Ancient Age. I don't know if that was true, really, but great to hear they are starting to catch back up to the demand.
Good video thanks 🥃
Love it😂
Whoa, you totally blew by that Harden’s Creek 3-bottle sampler box. For $185, I’d totally buy that. Look like they’re maybe 300ml bottles?
We would have picked them up but we already have that 3 pack. Yeah, they're either 250ml or 300ml, can't remember which right now.
I’m surprised you couldn’t find it. They put out, what, 190k bottles this year?
Dunno. It’s hard for an LE to last in Lexington. Guess it’s just our market. Also, a lot of our stores seem to hold allocated bottles and release a bunch together or when they want to. Just yesterday I came across a Wild Turkey Master’s Keep One and Voyage.
Found some in Hawaii lol
those 4roses are always a buy $99. Got an OESO pick which blows away the 2022LE and RIP Lynaghs 😞
They're sitting everywhere because of the increase in price 😅🥃 cheers

Didn't High West drastically increase their bottling numbers for 2023 of MWN?
They may have, not really sure. If they did, it still didn't make it any easier around here! Haha!
I was gifted the 2023 bottle, but haven't cracked it yet. Debating a swap/sell.

We put chapter markers in our videos so you know what’s coming and can skip around with ease.
$50 would be max for me for Eagle Rare.... Not enough proof for me to warrant anything more.... I pass!
Something’s gotta be done about price gouging. I’m not an expert in economics so I have no idea what I’m talking about. My gut feeling is it’s wrong and should be illegal.
Price gouging typically refers to states of emergency… pricing bourbon in accordance to the excessive demand does not fall into this category
@@BourbonJawnt feels like an emergency 🤪
How can you let my first sponsor video be your first loss… 😔
The gum ball machine is an unforgiving mistress. She gives, she takes.
They want $200 plus for MNSD at the liquor store near me
$50 over MSRP. That would be a pass for us.
