UNFREAKIN" BELIEVABLE!!!! I thought I was the only person alive who even heard of this song...never mind liked it. A genuine lost classic, been craving this song for years. Top drawer!!Great Post!!!! Ahhhhhhh....The memories are flooding back!
I d love to see his 3lost lp on cd one day, incredible songs on it he was a great lyricist , sad he was troubled by manic depression , or was it bi polar I have known a friend who subclumed to it very sad a great song writer over looked but I remember him well nyet, nyet ,
no idea why I dug up this tune tonight. and here it is. just as perfect as it was when I somehow owned the album in Calgary back in the early 80s. love gone bad has created so much excellent music over the years. tho not as much as love gone right I suppose. but this song just haunts me.
Many thanks. We were playing a gig at a bar in Salmo B.C. when who walks in but B.B. Gabor and his band. They were doing a one nighter the next evening at a community hall touring this album. They took up our offer to play a few tunes between out sets. B.B. then kindly set up our p.a. while we played our next set acting as our soundman. He also gave us tickets to his gig which we attended after we were through our last set. I remember him as being a very kind, but sad man. Thanks for posting!
Gabor was an astounding artist. I was lucky to be friends with him in Toronto in the early 80's. Not many people know that he was also an amazing guitar player. His songs - especially the ballads - are among the best ever written by any Canadian artist. I agree with the other poster: Gabor was on of THE greatest artist Canada has ever known. Gone to soon. God rest his soul
Ive always loved this song, great vocals, great guitar and the way it starts is really cool. Honestly though it's a little downbeat which is ok until you learn that the artist was troubled then it's sort of sad.. but it's still great and I'm so happy to have found it here!!
@RFIDemocracy Yeah, I know what you mean. I was lucky to become friends with Gabor when he lived in North Vancouver, (he gave me these two albums as a birthday gift in 1989). I'll never forget watching him laying down tracks in the studio or discussing musical ideas by phone with the likes of Todd Rundgren. The man was a genius for sure.
This is a great track and one of my favourite Lps from the '80s. I think some people might have thought that Bryan Adams sounded like him and maybe that is why he didn't get the recognition. Sounds a bit like World Party at times.
@jstoyanoff I always thought it was about his ex, who moved out to the west coast. I can't remember her name, but seem to recall her being from a wealthy Toronto family.
xxooliver if memory serves, this tune was written before she moved out to the west coast. I believe this tune is from 81/82 and guessing she moved away from Toronto about two years later...but it's a very long time ago and I could be wrong, of course
I read his ex name was Valerie his wife was named Sandra he had a sompn named Andreas zoltan it was on the internet somewhere I wonder if his son is a musician like him he was amazing I hope the out of the blue lp comes out one day great music !
I meant to say he had a son it was on the net somewhere I read this such a sad loss bb was a great songwriter I do have a fb page if anyone would care to check it out called BB Gabor -Music and Stories
@unclexmas Cool story! I got to know him in Vancouver and sometimes an unkind streak would surface, in a way that reminded me of Peter Sellers on a bad day. But mostly he was incredibly witty and kind-hearted.
I loved this guy…beautiful songs, really had a great influence on my psyche back in the day
I first heard this in 1983 and I thought it was catchy but now its more like a very sad talented guy that died young 😢

classic Canadian rock song. love the lyrics of a embittered guy tearing down this woman... his ex perhaps? mr. gabor is sadly missed.
Gabor wrote this about the troubled times with his girlfriend, who later became his wife.

This song reminds me of the country side for some reason. I can’t quite put my finger on it
Memories. I always like this song but I hadn't heard it in eons. It's a nice reminder of BB Gabor's level of quality.

Hey, that's great! And thanks for the comments. Gabor was such a talented man I just had to post these tunes.
