Dear Professor Oh, it's 2 AM, here in Italy, and just one hour ago I've discovered your channel, after another hour spent watching videos about your WONDERFUL and unique country :) I can speak four languages now and I'm starting again with Arabic (I have to revise my elementary level), once I'll have achieved an intermediate level with that I'm absolutely going to start with Korean, thanks to your course. You are a very smart and nice person, thank you for giving everybody around the world the possibility to approach such a charming and melodic language and a special perspective to have a look at your culture. Ciao :)

Somethings I was hoping to hear was "How much longer" and "How long will it take". If anyone knows, that would be great.

Growing up bi-lingual do you find that you have an accent when speaking in either English or Korean?

You mentioned that tipping is appreciated in Korea... I had a chance to live there for a year and am returning for at least another year soon. I was told that tipping is seen almost as a rude gesture, a sort of, "you look like you could use some financial help" kind of thing, and was advised against it. Is there any credibility to what I was taught or is tipping all around appreciated?

Can you teach us how to respond when you have uncertainty in your hangul. In cases like when a korean still responds in hangul yet you can't understand them anymore. how do you say you just know a little of their language? Or if they speak english?
I love this series. Really helpful and smart.

You can say "I don't speck well in Korean"- 한국어 잘 못해요?
When I say this normally I get it's ok (괜찮아요)
And to ask "do you speck English" - 영어 할줄 알아요? In reply to this I get a yes or no haha.
I'm still learning Korean as well so if my spelling is off please let me know.

If you pay with a card, can you still leave a tip? (Also, how much tip is normal?) I'm planning a trip to Korea, but I won't be going until 2016 xD I just want to make sure I don't mess up customs and get people mad at me!

When do you use 오른쪽/왼쪽 and when do you use 우회전/좌회전?

    • @daegucityboy
      @daegucityboy 10 років тому +1

they are more or less interchangeable but you use 우회전/좌회전 more when dealing with transportation/vehicles moving etc.

Zmaray DxB Probably not. They're Korean and live in Korea. Do not rely on hoping they speak English, you won't get very far.

Hey this is great! I'm an Uber driver and I get Korean tourists who have trouble speaking in English. Do you have a video for us? I'm not confident asking Google translate for help because in my native language Google translate always gives weird results. I've even tried watching Korean movies to jot down phrases that I could use, but it's not much.
It would be great if you uploaded a new video with Some important words , the ones I can think of at the top of my head are...
    Hi my name is ....
    are you going to ....?
We will be arriving in .... Mins.
Would you like to take the toll highway?
    Okay so no toll, right?
    Can I turn left/straight/right?
    Are you in a hurry?
Do you mind wearing your seat belt?
    Sorry.
    Sorry for being late.
    I apologize for any shortcomings.
Thanks and Have a nice day.

sweetandtasty we'll get land in the Philippines and farm coconuts, it's decided. Everyday will feel purposeful knowing I'm with the girl who taught me to greet properly in Korean. My parents can't wait to meet you. we might have to make the occasional trip back to Canada though, and I feel it would be beneficial for our kids to be of canadian residency though, for healthcare and what not. We'll work something out. Until you hear from me next my love. ttyl
