+D C why is Cothbus in the former East Germany economically depressed? Why are the people uneducated? Can you blame the depressed economy and lack of educated German's on migration? Answer me those questions. But somehow someway I don't think you will. Call it a hunch.

    • @ParticleJesus

The entire problem with people like Dan Kortebein is that they equate a higher quality of life with a greater degree of progressive cultural valence and greater GDP AKA a higher degree of mindless consumerism. It is this false benchmark which is being applied to all Western nations which people are using to conclude that they need unprecedented levels of Islamic migration in order to "cure" them. It's sick!

FFS, get a grip on your violent fantasies. There is no wave of crime or rape or whatever. Migrants are people like you and me, and there are actually fewer bad apples among them then in our normal population in Germany. Because many of these people have suffered in ways you can only dream of in your nightmares about before they found refuge in our fucking rich and stable home country. And if you want to show our cultural roots, then show Christian love for your neighbor, kindness and generosity of heart and spirit for people in duress and don't consider yourself better or more deserving. Show decency. Read the words of the sermon on the mount and try to live by them.

This is a very misleading video, I watched the demonstration in Chemnitz. Thousands of ordinary German people quietly demonstrated against their fellow countrymen being murdered . They carried photos of their lost ones. When they were held up by the police they waited quietly and patiently for a very long time and there were many elderly people amongst them. They see their beautiful culture and way of life at risk of being lost.

ah yes.. the good old elderly western germans
famous for having a healthy way of looking at not german people and carrying generally good believes..
even if the murders were the final drop it's still mixed with anti immigration and xenophobia and it's therefor more easy to attract ordinary people to a more evil subtext..
no one loses their culture while some people come here
through what? Döner and Falafel stores? migration is hard but they are not taking your culture away, but they may have difficulties adopting ours, which may also often be their fault for just not giving a fuck and only caring about making money (i like to talk to some of the immigrants for some time).
these "Islamisierung des Abendlandes" people are just to dumb to learn that culture manifests in so many different ways that it is not taken by a few people who pray in mosques, while living a shit life they didn't really chose themselves makes this even harder to detect.
it's not their fault really, but also not the immigrants i guess
but everyone on this is actually trying to educate himself so good luck to you
may at some time through this long and exhausting search of knowledge you will find your purpose in life and just stop sucking so much dick

I never thought I'd ever have sympathy for the Germans after WW2, but I can understand their frustration and fears. I've never understood where Politicians of any country think it's a good idea to allow people from other countries to move in en masse and expect them to assimilate without any problems. Whether you're German, French, English etc. It will never happen. Although it's the 21st Century, people of any nation are still basically Tribal and to have an influx of foreigners, whose culture can be totally alien to their new environment, is a sure fire recipe for dissent, resentment and rejection by the locals. A total disaster. They nearly always end up in enclaves, separated and isolated from merging, with suspicion building, which in time nearly always erupts into violence. Immigration should be strictly controlled by necessity alone and definitely limited to small quotas. There should also be very precise standards of the prospective immigrant, such as language ability, skills, financial means and a willingness to adopt the culture of the particular country they come to. Even then it won't be easy, but it would be better than the chaos that now exists.

In 2015 Merkel and Germany were one of the only countries who had signed the Geneva Convention and to uphold to it.Read Paragraph 25.You should be proud of her and your country -Anyone who applies for Asylum will recieve due process and that is what is being done. This process is complicated ,beurocratic and very messy, there are evil bad people in the world, whatever nationality they may be.
One day there was a banging on my door-A child screamed " please help me there is a wolf trying to catch me and eat me,please let me in. To the guy who said that foreigners want to come to Germay.
Yes, but not east Germany and especially not Sachsen, this is why people (Germans) moving out of this state.
I had (careful anecdotal) 2 of my peers (Afghan and Russian) who moved with their families to North (West) Germany and told me pretty much what this boy said.
Being scared of violence and dont left the house after 10 pm because of that.
Nightlife is impossible for foreigners (partly because the possible violence), even in bigger cities in the east, which I can confirm myself, then I was there to visit an university and stayed over night.

Not being German, neither European, we have always looked up to Germany as the country that had done everything right politically, economically, culturally. Germany was the model to follow. Do as Germany and you will be well off. But it seems that Germany decided to hide the fact that within such a rich country 1/5 of its population is facing poverty. Maybe we shouldn't follow its example at all. Ignoring part of a country is, in my opinion, what strengthens the alt-right. On the alt-righter's point of view, acknowledging your country has forgotten you might be too hard, so they blame it on foreigners.

I worked in Cottbus in 1994, there were Neo Nazis there but they were not the norm, but from what i have read and seen on youtube of the violence brought to them by the migrants who can blame them for wanting to stand up for their culture, rather than condemning ordinary Germans maybe their government should reflect on their open door policy and the harm it has wrought, family life and the church are such a huge part of the people of Cottbuses lives they are kind and charitable so for it to reach this point something is very wrong.

Greetings from West Germany: We've been used to foreign people for long. It's a riddle to me why many people from eastern Germany are scared of and opposed to migrants. Claiming they all would be criminal or whatever. No!
I was born in Bonn, on the Rhine - but one side of my grandparents was from Cottbus, the town described here. They fled from the GDR in the 1950s. I still have relatives there. There are reasons why those former GDR regions developed differently, but those reasons can't explain why there is more xenophobia in the east and so on. In the west it is common to have foreign roots among 20 per cent of the people - in the east it might be 5 per cent sometimes. People are scared for other reasons somewhow. And blaming it to migrants. But: racism is not an opinion, it is a crime.

Interesting that they reacted so strongly to the N word, bringing Anglo-American values into the German-speaking world. In Germany, the "N word" is not as offensive, because historically they had very little contact with black people, apart from African children they would bring over as curiosities. Germany was not built on slavery like the US, Brazil or much of Russia under serfdom, therefore, the word doesn't imply a relationship of superiority over black people.

Eastern Germany was pro-Nazi in the 30s, so it's just returning to type. Communism kept a lid on this fascism for 40 years, not only in East Germany but in Eastern Europe more generally. And remember, Hungary was allied to Germany in WW2.
What was the USSR'S problem is now becoming the EU's problem. The West in its confirmation bias, believed that Eastern Europe without communism, would embrace Western Liberal values - lol. Nope, without communism it was just gonna revert back to its old reactionary state.
