Always enjoy hearing your comments/thoughts on anything relating to Stephen King as you are the ultimate 'constant reader' & King 'expert'! Have a wonderful Merry Christmas Harry :)
I really enjoyed Roadwork. But I also spent a lot of years working for a highway department. So that's probably why I enjoyed it as much as I did, haha.
Nightmares & Dreamscapes is a brilliant collection agreed!! My faves have to be Chattery Teeth, The Moving Finger and Rainy Season. Wondering, have you ever seen the TV series? Some of the stories are really good!! If It Bleeds... Rat is amazing!!! Made my skin crawl!
Many people have said that roadwork isn't all that good The only one of kings short story collections that I have read is full dark no stars which was the first book from king that I read
Love your videos and all of your details! Thoughts and details are what people come to UA-cam for...and you do a great job of presenting yours! Thank you for sharing your insights! I thought the dialect and narrative style in Dolores Claiborne as well! So neat! We had similar opinions on this one too! 😊 If you haven't seen the movie, you have to!! Kathy Bates is an AMAZING Dolores Claiborne! Nightmares & Dreamscapes was my very first Stephen King book!! My Dad read me all of the short stories when I was a little girl - growing up reading about Popsy! Loved loved loved your insights on this - reminds me I need to reread this one as an adult! Love your SK vids! Great opinions and great insights
Hey Harry!! Merry Christmas to you :) I love listening to you waffle on about anything S.King. Hope you have great celebrations over the holiday season :P
King has done so many books over his career I'm surprised he remembers them all, saying that I'm pretty sure it's Cujo that he cannot remember writing at all. A bit off topic here but I wanted to mention it since you and I love James Bond, I finally got round to watching No Time To Die and loved it! I admitedly got quite teary eyed at the end. Merry Christmas to you by the way.
I’m not sure if you knew this, but a few stories from Nightmares & Dreamscapes was actually adapted into a tv series. You can find it on Amazon or UA-cam by searching for the title.
Good video! Before you started, I tried to predict which books you would address, and only one I guessed correctly was Buick 8. I was hoping you would reflect on Lisey's Story, which you haven't said too much about ( I recently forced myself to complete it after dnf'ing it several times..ugh!). If It Bleeds is my most recent SK read. I enjoyed the first & last stories the best. Thanks as always for sharing with us. Merry Christmas!
@ music room - it took me two attempts to finish Lisey's Story also. I just didn't like it. I couldn't get into the cute inside dialect between Scott and Lisey, and I just overall didn't care for the story. I have heard from several people that their ill opinions changed after a second reread, but I just don't think I have it in me to read that one again.
@@mtwice4586 YES! I first tried to read it when it first came out 15 years ago...never made it far..and to add insult to injury, I kept reading articles where SK claimed to feel like it was his best work to date! There won't be a 2nd reading for me...!! On the positive side, the cover under the red dust jacket was quite lovely!
why does Harry have so many copies of the same book LOL? I admit as a book collector I've done similar things, usually because of interesting cover art variations. Also, Harry has the cutest mustache ever. What a sweet guy! I wish him the best!
Your bookshelf is so gorgeous 😭

I’ve seen one of the episodes, but it was one of the ones from Night Shift :)

I wanted to mention Lisey’s Story, but I spoke about it in my review of the premiere of the TV show adaptation so I decided not to talk about it :)
