I just installed 250s on my charger. i had their angry house wifes, window makers and now their 250s. so far i like them the best. Even though they’re quieter they don’t make that loud clappy sound you get with longtube headers and no cats
After hearing countless black widow setups the x-pipe obviously did change the tone based on how it evens out the exhaust pulses, but the cam and long tubes are what really help the black widows make their “signature sound” I’ve heard all kinds of cars with x-pipes and black widows, even without x pipes, and the ones that get that sound the most at least have long tubes.
@@CARSONBOARD no mustang here, but I do have a car with a 4v 4.6 of sorts 😂 I’m planning for a dual in dual out 2.5” venom 250 for my car to replace the center resonator and then taking the rear mufflers off the back and going for quad tips instead of the factory dual ovals.
Sounds great. I just ordered the race venoms for my 66 mustang. Can't wait to get it back. In shop having holley efi sniper system installed. Only drawback is its an automatic.
dump them out of the side if u wanna hear it a little more. i run hedmen headers to an X pipe & flow master super 10s out the side on mine. sounds great.
Really glad you found what YOU wanted, and I know how you felt. Looking for a setup online the way you plan on running it so you can hear what it is before you drop $$ into it I found a video, same truck, same year, engine, and setup for exhaust... Great, awesome, get it done. Not only does mine sound better IMO than the resource videos I found, it's deeper and throatier. Not because of the quality of the video or how they filmed it, it just was better. The materials used vs mine? A 289 has a certain natural tone, like with any other engine and not that "flowmaster sound" of the 90s... everything past the exhaust valve is up to variables.

I totally agree with you. I hope the video help you make the choose on your setup that’s the main reason I made this video.

Long tube/equal length headers
Exactly the set up going in my 66 here in Australia. Great video. My inspiration was Ben at FourSpeed Films as well.
