I’ve always said United scouting team needs to be taking a clue from Ste… Ste’s scout report is actually the best I’ve seen… Well detailed and if he tells you the player is good, then he is good…

He did say Amrabat was the answer to United’s midfield problems, and he was one of the worst players I’ve ever seen in a United shirt.

@@brun4775 Amrabat had a bad start because he was played out of position. And Ste never said Amrabat is the solution, he only said Amrabat is a good option as at that time and I don’t think he was wrong.
Also, if Amrabat was very bad like you claimed, United fans like me won’t be requesting we buy him for 12million on a permanent deal as a back up option.
My favourites were Fabian Ruiz and Carlos Soler who PSG went on to sign both for £40m in total. Now Carlos Soler hasn't worked out, but he was £15m but they've got Ruiz who cost £25m and has been sensational and you can see it in the Euros for Spain.
Definitely should do a report on Maxence Lacroix, French centre back for Wolfsburg next. He's too good and has 1 year left on his contract. If United were looking at 2 centre backs I.e De Ligt and another, he'd 100% be my choice. He profiles well on defensive metrics not at the top, but consistently near the top.
For balance you should definitely do a video of the ones you've got wrong

you did caicedo and julian alvarez when they were still in south america! imagne how many gems we could have got with the money we spent on antony (ironically an unproven south american youngster with potential aswell)
Anthony for £20m or less would've been a good signing. He hasn't contributed much in attack but he does good work in the other parts of his game

Seriously, United need to be contacting you ASAP and integrating you into the scouting setup. Those players at the time of review are worth less collectively than the 3 we will be getting this summer!!

Seriously, I love your work Ste, but on my opinion you can't do a video like this without touching in on some of the not so good ones too.
And there's plenty of classy ways to do that, to further prove your point as well.
Example, you could show a couple of your not so good ones, shown the price that you could have gotten them for, and a realis price they still could have been sold for.
Then compared that again to the price of trying to get them after they've turned good.

Ste, is there any news about left backs? We don't seem to be linked with any, but I think we need one. Can you do a scout report on Ferdi Kadıoğlu from Fenerbache, who's playing at the Euros for Turkey? He's only 24, can play LB,RB and CM and is good going forward. He even passes the ETH/Dutch test, having played for the Netherlands at all levels up until the first team, and looks gettable for €25-30m. Arsenal and Dortmund have both had bids rejected, so we could do the same as when we got Martinez and Malacia, by sneaking once other clubs have set the price.

Bit harsh to call yourself a helmet, Ste You have proved time and again that if a person is genuinely interested in improving their team they do their homework. You and your lads go above and beyond unlike the paid professionals with job titles. Great work.
I think the scouting setup is decent at United. But clearly , they have an issue in execution. Laurie mentioned in one of his articles that Murtough was called a black hole for scout reports. In the end the executive department was shit at United. hopefully , it improves

It would be interesting to look at Academy pla yers from a few years back. Gomes, Levitt, Laird, Gailbraith and their ilk. How much did we let them go for? Were we right?

Please do another video on the players you failed to see or the players who you spotted but turned out to be busts. I think those are potentially even more important because who not to sign is likely as important as who to sign.

Stephen are there any that you scouted that you didn't follow up on in this video, generally you're ahead of the game with them when you do one. I think that Uniteds scouts are not as bad as you think just a lot of the time they have been ignored as the correct experienced structure was not in place. I think we'll see a vast improvement now the back room staff are, what do you think? 😊

I think we have always been blaming our scouts. Muppetiers has been clear Joel Glazer has been acting as our Sporting Director. On that bombshell the helmet on UA-cam is clearly ahead of Joel Glazer when it comes to picking players. I suspect most of the people reading this would be ahead of him too.
Now we have Ashworth, Wilcox, Berrada, Brailsford and Blanc. It's a whole new game.
Ste you are usually spot on. I’d say the biggest flop from your reports from what I remember is the Turkish right back Celik. He has been bang average or even rather bad for Roma.
Nothing beats the Enzo Fernandes in terms of bang for buck scout report. Increased his value by 80 mil in a year time after your report.

Is it our scouting department or is it the decision makers at the end of it? United have one of the best scouting networks in the world I can't imagine they themselves are making this many fuck ups. I can imagine Woodward and the glazers making this many fuck ups with players though.

Be real. Utd haven't done a good job with players in or out for years. Hence the state of the squad. We bought at too high a price. Paid too big a wage. Then we got lumbered with Ten Hag. He only wants players he knew before. Very limiting. It won't get any better either unless the extra 500 backroom boys can find someone. Ten Hag won't. We need cheap. Got anymore suggestions.

Utd and other clubs would have looked at all these players in a lot more detail.
Schlotterbeck is a perfect example...if he was as good as Ste makes out why did dortmund sign him instead of the elite clubs? Average player for an average club. Most of these players wouldn't move then needle for Utd

Alan Varela for example been excellent at Porto we should now besigning over Ugarte....and fast forward two years you willprobably be doing oneon world beater Desire Doue that could have replaed Bruno with a treasure chest in change
