Is it just the camera that makes the dot look like it takes up half the glass? Or is that actually how large it is?

It was the camera. The dot is almost identical to an Eotech reticle.

Does it suffer from the same thermal drift as the EOTech does?
If so how bad is it? 1 MOA? 2 MOA?
