    Very well done. At first I thought the washing and refreshing was too much work but then it's worth the effort and the couple hundreds of dollars saved to do it this way. Besides it looks great, fresh and you're good to go for another couple of weeks. FABULOUS!

    thank u raven, I love how u do this! I have watch all ur videos and I cant find where u cut your silver gray ombre hair into a bob!??? plz guide me!!! bc im constantly crocheting my hair all the time!!! But the best thing about you Raven Navera is how relaxed and comfortable you are in your own skin I love it! U sit in your real skin like a Queen sits comfortably in her thrown. And I love you for that! bc it isnt and the society makes us women of color or just women period, they are not teaching us to LOVE OURSELVES! I struggled with that all thru out life and still do. So thank u Raven for reversing that back and teach us women of all races how to love ourselves and be happy and comfortable in our own skin!!! U just know how thankful I am how proud of u like I know, I am! keep it up girly!!! ;)

    love the video and the crochet braids. I I've tried crochet braids myself it looked ok but not perfect like yours, I have trouble braiding my natural hair into the right pattern and I've tried. your tutorials are helpful but do you crochet braid other people's hair cause I would really like my hair to be done your way.

    Raven you have a beautiful, beautiful voice and totally creative person. Thank you for sharing.
    I'm going on holiday to Crete and would love to get my head under the sea water so would love to do this hairstyle:
    1) Please can I ask about washing 'Mali Hair first as I am allergic to the 'film' that is on Kanekalon and this kind of hair. Is it still possible to get the same results after washing this in a bundle first?
    2) Also I have very thin hair due to diffuse traction alopecia along with thinning edges. So for example I think I could do about 15 rows at the front on my scalp, but the corn row would be thin. Does it make sense to try this style or use curly extensions. Curly extensions doesn't really suit my face.

    Hey raven this is an old video but I really liked your crochet braids tutorial. I am a complete novice but have been natural for about 5 years now. I am going on vacation (cruise) in two weeks and was wondering if you've ever swam in your crochet braids? If so have you swan in this texture?
    Have you ever used a curly texture to crochet braid? I am really stressing having to deal with styling my hair while on vacation but I keep reading that you shouldn't swim with synthetic hair extensions. I just need all kinds of help!

    I just finished installing the 1b Marley hair by Janet Nor. I followed instructions from your video to install but varied a bit shorter on the cut & trim to jus below the shoulder w/longer layers on top. I have to say it looks amazing!!! I did the side & middle parts too.
    I did include the leave-in conditioner & blow dried the hair but it still looked somewhat dry afterwards. Is there a particular brand of leave - in conditioner that you use? If so, please share.
    I though using the hot water method with big soft bendable rods would make the hair more glossy or less dry
    Still wet so can't tell but the ends seem top have a little frizz. I think I may flat iron on low heat next. Do you use any other products on the Marley hair to maintain silky sheen & softness on a daily basis? How often do you flat iron or curl since thus is synthetic hair?
    Thanks again. Overall, I'm satisfied with the outcome & looking forward to having fun with my new style. Just need a few more maintenance tips to help me along & enjoy this new journey.
    God bless!!!

    • @RavenNavera
      @RavenNavera  8 років тому

      +Monita McLaurin Hi Monita, I'm so glad you tried it! I don't have any particular brand of leave in that I use. sometimes I also don't use a leave in but use a normal cheap conditioner and leave that in in that case I use A LOT! for the straight style try wetting the hair thoroughly and then adding conditioner from the part nearest to your roots (but not on your actual cornrows of course) and concentrate on the ends. do not wash this out. towel dry slightly and then blow dry straight with a paddle brush. After this straighten the hair. I straighten the hair when ever I feel it needs straightening as long as the heat is low it doesn't damage the hair.
      For the curly rods style I prefer the hard small plastic rods as bendable rods make it look more like afro curls

    • @monitamclaurin4509
      @monitamclaurin4509 8 років тому

      Hi Raven!!!
      Yes, I will try that too; thanks. Just washed it with some Tresemme Conditioner & also used some Infusium leave-in conditioner. I will get some "knock off" leave-in brand later but that's the only thing under my sink right now.
      I think I'm really afraid of burning or melting the hair so I didn't blow dry is really good right after I installed it earlier. Once I washed it w/conditioner & blow dried it again (a little longer) it now looks less dry. Also, you were right about the soft bendable roller & water; my curls did look like an afro which prompted me to wash it. About to try flat irons now on low.
      Thank you again.....
