When the actual car is crazier than anything Yuri could come up with in a thumbnail.
I'm not sure if BMW is going for the repeat of mid 00's and Chris Bangle lineup that everyone hated but if so, it's definitely working. Every car they turn out is weirder and uglier than the previous one. And after the 7 and iX that's quite an achievement.
Or Yuri squeezing his eyes shut while gunning it.

@@R3YNZ I'm not saying they aged bad. Just saying that back then most hated the new lineup. 3 series looked like Deawoo Lanos, 5 was a complete tragedy for bmw fan boys because it lost the front end look and 7, well 7 was really bad actually.

It’s so weird how fast the XM went into production. I knew it was going to be put into production, but I did not expect to he that fast.
They're probably basically hand-building them so it didn't take much to spin up a production line.
@@ARCNA442 na they're part sharing. X7 chassis that's been modified, engine from the M5, hybrid system from the X5 45e etc etc.
Meanwhile Mercedes takes 2 years to put the new GLC into production lol
I used to work for a automation integrator, one of my jobs was at the BMW factory in SC to fit the doors, tailgate, hood and front fenders on this car. Since it is assembled on their X5 line, we could only work on it on Saturdays and Sundays. It took over a year to get it going through the line smoothly. We started doing the actual work in October 2020. The pandemic slowed it down a lot.
Because they’re made in the states they wont have energy problems there

It makes me so sad that the vehicle BMW is using to celebrate 50 years of M is an SUV. It's a perfect encapsulation of everything wrong with modern BMW. As a Z3 owner, I'm not even mad, I'm just disappointed in how far a brand I genuinely love has fallen.
Indeed, they had some very striking designs in the past. Some very handsome cars. Can't say that about the modern lot. Just like random shit slapped together from a junkyard and calling it good. Yikes.
It’s not the ONLY car celebrating the heritage that BMW has. Also, for all its “ugly” tendencies that it has, which I actually like, M isn’t notable for its looks, but its speed.

This is the car you expect to see in a game like Saints Row or Cyberpunk. It's crazy that they actually brought such design to life.

I love it when two channels that I've been watching for a while have presenters in each other's videos. Seeing Matt Watson do the visor test with Jakub made my day. Dads coworker had a new a x7 for all of 3 months before they got rid of it because the entire electrical system crapped out. So I wouldn’t bet long

i work at bmw so we had a pre-premiere of the XM in the underground garage of our office. worst part i think are the plastics inside, especially the one in the back above the seatbelts - i was hoping it was some kind of pre-production ‚feature’ but from what i see it stays in the production model - yikes
HAHA, hell yeah, you even admit it! my 2007 X3 is arguably their best work ever for an SUV and YES it is torturing me with maintenance, but nothing else comes close, 2nd gen looks like a mini van, I do like some newer X5's too though.
For that price you would expect something that looks nicer than a warhammer 40K tank.
When i see this all i can think about is my 98 civic, and how proud i was that it had the gold badge and trim package. def more affordable option for that gold- gold.

I...I think I love it. I'm not sure why. It's the busy unique SUV I think I've ever seen. The gold accents, the grill, the vertical exhaust...I have no idea why I like it so much because I individually dislike everything I listed on basically every other car.
I think the car looks wicked cool, love the new wheels, and hood accents- super slick
As a former X6 and X3 owner, BMW designers and management have lost their minds. Just when you think their designs can't get any worse, this thing appears. Glad I switched to Jaguar (2023 F-Type and F-Pace SVR over the past year).
I agree. Something strange happened after the F30 models. Nobody liked the huge grills etc. Bmw cars used to be very good looking.
But X6 was ugly as well. Not really a good comparison. ;)
@@jackbauer4607 Agreed. From certain angles, X6 was definitely ugly - namely the rear or rear 3/4. Too many horizontal lines. Why i sold my 2021 X6 and ordered a 2023 Jag F-Pace SVR. Much cleaner lines and proportions

Ahhh so dope you guys got one of these for a review pretty much as soon as it was possible.... CARWOW + TSP = !!!! Since it was revealed - I LIKED IT! It's brash, it sticks out, and it's just different and yes, the grill is better than iX 7/i7. I have the gold on my i4 M50 grill outline and mirror caps which is part of the M sport package as my salesman told me (and realized, the rear badges too) so def love that! Can't wait to see one in person.
P.S. I just got the free trial of the driver recorder, so will try that out soon.

You missed really it’s closest competitor: the Cayenne Turbo S E Hybrid. Also a Twin Turbo V8 plug in hybrid.

There are a few models by bmw by now, that have these split headlights and I really like the lower ones. I think only using those and moving them up a bit, would have been a great design choice.
Length, width, and wheelbase are within a fraction of an inch of the X7; XM doesn't sit between X7 and anything else in size.
Idk how Yuri gives the styling of this thing a 10/10. 🤮

As a German I gotta ask: why? That's the most unnecessarily amount of money BMW has wasted since the original M1-fiasco.
People are scrambling hand over fist to throw their money at BMW for anything with an M badge. So BMW is toying with them. Dunking on them. It's a power trip: They're showing they can do whatever they want and their buyer base will still stay strong. And they haven't been proven wrong.
I thought you edited the thumbnail to make it uglier for clickbait. Watching the first few seconds of the video I was amazed with what I thought were your editing skills. Then the horror began to sink in as I slowly realized that the car actually looks like that. I could only watch half of the video because I kept screaming "WTF" so loud that it scared my cats.
