At 1:01 the guitar is shred in such a way that it sounds like a madman laughing. That's absolutely genius
It honestly does, sounds amazing.
That mad laugh is like reflecting off of ardyn madness and sadistic tendencies
The music and combat sync from 2:58 to about 3:03 was lovely.

I could not take this fight seriously when Regis was using a tuna as his main weapon. I may have forgotten to disable my mods.

Noctis was just trying to supply his father with more weapons. Guess he took sushi knife in a weird direction, though...
I love how, whenever he gets knocked down, Ardyn just says "whoops." Flat on your ass, treating it like you missed while playing catch with your kid brother.

Just played the whole EP in one night- couldn’t put it down!
So different but so good. It really felt like you were inside the mind of Ardyn. Tortured and torturer. The music was a particularly nice touch. The meeting of crazy heavy metal and classical symphonic final fantasy really makes you feel like an immortal madman when you’re shadowstepoing around, daemonifying people.
The way he holds his hat while he sprints, the way he seems to genuinely enjoy his revenge, which is justified. Idk, peeps have a lot of hate for ffxv but I’ve never experienced an antagonists perspective quite like that. Most games that try it end up making you feel “evil” or like your empathy for the character is very forced. Not here. I saw where Ardyn was coming from. I felt for him, then I understood his revenge, but he WAS still killing people who had nothing to do with Somnus but blood.
Very complex emotional matrix set to an awesome soundtrack.
This DLC honestly just cements Ardyn as one of my top 3 FF villains.
He killed people unrelated to his revenge because Bahamut forced him to, I hate that sword wielding god SO much.

I just beat Episode Ardyn yesterday. Gotta say, it was a blast to play. This boss fight was my favorite part of the game.
Not the best Episode but the music sure was on point. 2:36 that moment when the trumpet kicked in I jumped out of my seat.

They really could've, although Ardyn alone was overpowered by Bahamut in the ending.

This story makes no sense and full of contractions and holes. Everyone should have been able to recognize Ardyn not just Regis. Regis would have put the look out on him if the story made sense and had consistency. He would have warned everyone about him. But nobody knows him except as the chancellor of the empire.
@@Thiago_Alves_Souza There is nothing wrong with the story. It is people like you who didn't pay attention. This episode clearly states that Ardyn is disguised as an Insomnian guard. Only we, the players, are actually seeing Ardyn on his original form. Regis sees a normal guard, but he knows he's actually Adagium using an illusory disguise. Regis never sees Ardyn in his original form until Kingsglaive.
@@owenitzura dude... Regis called him Adagium. He was imprisoned until then and by using that term, Regis clearly knows his power and how he looks like considering he had glaives guarding the prison. Now get fucked with your rude comment. His disguise came off the moment he revealed himself and his own brother recognizes him. I'm pretty sure the old kings would've told Regis even by some chance he didn't know what he looks like.
The loopholes in this shitty story is endless, and only triggered, delusional fanboys like you try to defend it.

Well, we got Xande, Cloud of Darkness, Exdeath (normal and Neo), Kefka, Warring Triad, even Ozma... I don't see why not. Maybe even an event with him as guest and you go up against this Bahamut. (The fights you have with him in Comrades are reminiscent of XIV)

Soooooo, Ardyn fights Regis and uses the Royal Arms doing so... yet in Kingsglaive he doesn't have his Crownsguard or himself attack Ardyn on the spot... what???
I believe Ardyn is disguised as a border patrol office; to everyone but us he looks different.
Ardyn already showed he could kick Regis' ass, even when he was younger. In Kingsglaive there is a look of recognition on Regis face when Ardyn shows up, he likely didn't want to cause problems by attacking him.
He's supposed to look like that fat police officer in the beginning while he does this. Which makes this kinda ridiculous when you think about it.
Imagine a dude in full SWAT gear showed up with Royal Arms
Because Ardyn fucking fodderized him in the DLC. He wiped out nearly the whole Kingsguard by himself. Regis got absolutely bodied when he was younger and no doubt stronger. He knew he couldn't stop him, so he had to play along and just prioritize Noct's safety.
@@MrMetnasty That's what frustrates me with people asking why Regis didn't recognize Ardyn or act against him in kingsglaive, if he lifted a finger in that exchange Ardyn would have and could have wiped out every Lucian in that city

@@TwistahsWorld yeah thanks to Luna she saved him absorbing the Scurage but became a daemon and died in the process but bahamut brought her back to life he was the true villan apparently in the novel
