That’s true, but they don’t innovate after, most of the new improvements are ideas copied from the aftermarket and the imitators. They keep the price high by limiting their productions, using antiques cottage industries method. Those expensive handmade products are good quality but exclusive. Brompton milked their invention to the upmost, the high price is almost of snob value and they play on the Anglophiles superior English attitudes, like British racing green, London Olympic and other editions. I have an old Brompton with electric conversion and like it too much, but it’s really heavy especially carrying between stations. I don’t really care much for the traditions, and would gladly swap it for a ultra light clone, but cannot justify the additional expenses for the seldom used bike.

Wow! Another trifold brand to consider! I wonder what's the weight of this bike....10kg? I think the black as well as the silvery nickel colours are nice. Thanks for this video, Ray!

@@raylearnstofilm6668 folding just need to shift to gear 5/6 then can fold due to the cassette the higher the gear the more it will protude out thus will bock the clip from clipping onto the bike rack.

I had a SA SRF5 fitted to a Dahon Mu Uno. Within 6 months of riding in the hills of Chiang Mai Thailand, the hub was destroyed. No local bike shops could fix it so I brought it back to the US. Bike mechanics in the US said "replace it" since US labor rate was higher than cost of new hub.
There are so many of these Brompton clones on the market now, it has left me lost as to which one to buy. I don't like the Brompton for it's weight, price & crude execution. I would prefer a bike with 100 mm & 135 mm drop out spacing to make it easier to upgrade parts. I would like a nicely welded & finished bike with good but not necessarily lycra class parts, possibly disc brakes & an Alfine hub. Am I anywhere close to what is available? Thank you.
Yo! Do check out Liaoge's UA-cam channel. He has a few trifolds that come with the more common dropout dimensions for the rear triangle and front fork.
Hey Ray, really like the videos you're putting out. I was just wondering between Pikes and Aceoffix, which ones do you prefer and why? I can only think of the weight benefits of Aceoffix but what do you lose out if you pick the Aceoffix over the Pikes? Also wanted to ask what gear you're using for filming :). Thanks!
