In this video review you mention the M11 Pro. Are you sure you mean to say M11 Pro and not the regular "M11" which you mentioned in your comparison in your written review?

@@_Pretender Thank you bro! I think that they are somewhat similar, V6 maybe a bit warmer and more musical, M6 a bit more analytical, but too close to be sure.

Thanks for this! Never heard of this company before I must say. But quite a few decent to good reviews in the past few weeks thanks to this DAP. Always good when competition grows. Right now, there are 5 or 6 DAP brands and they all push towards premium pricing!

Has anyone’s V6 started to rattle? There is some kind of loose piece of metal that rattles around in mine.Temptec hasn’t responded to my emails.
It hasn’t been dropped and just sits in my car. 🤔
I am really sorry to hear about your experience, I have not heard from Tempotec in a while, but my unit behaves perfectly, so not sure what might have happened. They are most responsive on the Aliexpress store messenger page if you need to hear from them
Having m3x should you upgrade it with this? Is the improving substantial?
The overall OS and device is not much better, in fact it is slightly worse, but the sound is considerably better, more driving power, better control, better impact, less distortion and more dynamics.
I used to own tempotec v1a but it wasnt any special. I had to use its usb dac (sonata hd pro) to get the dynamic and detail i need. I'd say it was decent, but its annoying to charge. Hidizs bought a lot of their pattern. Glad seeing them improving as a brand.
V1A Variations was indeed not that great, but was ok for the money. V6 Variations goes one step beyond that and it is a top notch DAP I'd say
By the way all of its specs goes up into today' s higher mid range DAPs for 7-800 USD at least. Those AK chips, 16x MQA, 32-768 pcm, 512 DSD. 49.152 & 45.158 FPGA? You kidding? It has clearly very high specs for very low price among the proven names. Probably they want to asskick the big ones. :) I am really really interested on the sonic performance of it, or even comparison to well known names in the higher priced segment.

Well, I got this player through the kickstarter. I have to say that it has a few minor 'quality of life' issues that could be fixed with a software update (for example when it starts up you are 'welcomed' with a very bright white startup screen, even if the screen brightness is set to low - not so nice for late night listening.) Apart from minor issues like this it produces very good sound. I think that for somebody that wants good portable sound, without going too crazy price wise - this could be worth considering. I played around with the equalizer - but in the end I prefer the stock configuration - I think that the makers can be proud that the sound is spot on.
Happy to hear you're having fun with it! I agree it ain't perfect, but it is a good working DAP with a nice sound and as oyu said, it can sound nice with no EQ employed

Generally speaking, I would go for R6 III more, it is a more modern device, but V6 Variations can sound as good, just not as good as a DAP , less interesting software and such

Waiting on my unit. Got the $279 deal on Kickstarter. This DAP I'm sure will surprise many people at that price. It has
gotten rave reviews, more or less. It is about the same price as the Questyle M15 DAC dongle but outperforms it and is an entire DAP with more than double the power, so there is that.

Sound quality - DX170, Battery Life DX170 or M3 Ultra, and for UI DX170 or M3 Ultra. Overall, DX170 right now, but M3 Ultra has a thicker, warmer sound if that is your thing

Only issue for me is battery life.
I'm considering buying shanling m3x for its longer battery life, so I can take it on several day long camping trips.
I know you said its better than m3x, but I don't know if its really worth it for me because of shorter battery life
Battery life is indeed not the longest, but what I try to do nowadays is carry a portable battery when I think I'm about to run out 😩

From that list, M3 Ultra or R6 III are slightly smoother and more rounded as devices right now, likely the better options. V6 sounds amazing, and so does M11, but R6 III and M3 Ultra have slightly better support for streaming, etc.

V6 is in betweeen M3U and R6 3, but as a DAP the other two might be a bit more suited for streaming. Sonically, V6 is a solid choice
I got this thru Indiegogo and waited almost 2 Months. But I'm so pissed that this piece of junk that it lags and keep closing Amazon Music App. It can not even play UA-cam.

How does it compare sonically with Hiby R5ii? I have a Sennheiser hd 598 and a sennheiser hd 650 and both require some power. So between the two which is better if I may know
It is excellent, should be above R5ii, cannot guarantee it is enough for hd 650, those are power hungry, high impedance headphones

Bro, I just received M3 Ultra, so I can't say for sure how it sounds yet. Didn't even unbox it... But with V6 you just can't go wrong, we even awarded it the best budget DAP title!

It won't be an upgrade from DX160 or DX240, but it w.ill be similar performance to DX160 . Both are below DX240

Thank you! I don't think you need a DAP, but it may make your life easier. V6 is much better for all IEMs and headphones, better dynamics, more driving power, and better sound in general, so I would go for it instead of A306. BTR7 is very capable, but it still applies bluetooth compression, so I would ideally recommend a DAP for better sound

Usually you don't have to, most cards should be vizible and work straight out of the factory.

@@AudiophileHeaven Your comment that at one point Fiio's sound went down is interesting. Many comments on the M11 pointed out that it was very shiny and thin. This tempotec V6 seems to be far superior to that and many others. I was also considering an Ibasso Dx170 although the battery on that one is theoretically 11 hours. How much battery does the Tempotec reach when listening to mp3 320 kbps and flac files at a moderate volume through the unbalanced input?

I agree, M11 is quite thin and shiny in sound, and that's not good, sounds shallow and lacks impact / bass. V6 is more balanced and natural
how is the sound when using bluetooth headphones?
It is same as with every other smartphone and dap. Bluetooth sound does not chanr between Bluetooth sources

It is a very hard question, M3 Ultra is a bit pricier, but it works better in some ways, more holographic sound, while V6 is more warm. M3 Ultra has some minor delay on the USB DAC function, while V6 does not have as much delay.

hi how are things? I'm thinking of buying the aiaiai tma 2, what do you think of those headphones, do they have good bass? and its basses intrude on the mid frequencies? and what about the sharp ones are they sharp?
AIAIAI TMA-2 Studio is a good headphone, it does the job for the money well, can't find something cheaper to sound better for studio work. If you have the money, you can consider also Harmonic Dyne Zeus, and if you can use open back
How does this compare to the ibasso dx170 in terms of sound quality?
They are fairly similar, more driving power on DX170

Acaban de sacar v3, tiene los mismos chips dacs, son más pequeños, no tienen Android, pero se puede usar Tidal y qobuz.
Por lo demás es una menor batería, pero usan los mismos amplificadores del v6, es una locura.
