Venice 15 Minute Photo Challenge: Take and Make Great Photography with Gavin Hoey

A city break is the perfect opportunity to test your photography skills and in this video Gavin Hoey takes on one of his famous "15 minute photo challenges" at the Rialto Bridge in the beautiful city of Venice, Italy.
Being a hugely popular tourist spot there's no shortage of photo opportunities but as well as the "must have" shots, Gavin goes in search of the less obvious images. To make it more challenging Gavin has two uses. Rule 1, he can only use one lens and rule 2, he only has 15 minutes to take all the photos.

I missed your 15 minute challenges. Love when you do these episodes. Actually I love all of them but these are my favorite.

This is a great challenge series! We get to tag along with you behind the scenes, and in Venice too! Thank you for this. I've been taking pictures for a very long time, and it's nice to know my thought-process and workflow is about in-line with yours, though your pictures are absolutely fabulous, no doubt about it. Awesome 15 min challenge in the lovely Venice, great shot of the person with her iphone and capturing her shot too in frame as well, glad to see one of these types of videos again too.

Great photos but a little over processed IMO. But I loved the one of the woman with her dog walking down the stairs and the one at 5:08 of the gondola under the bridge. Beautiful.

You should add a Oly 12-100 to your kit. Nice for those outdoor "walk around" shots and outstanding IQ.

Another great video, some good ideas and the images are awesome.
I am in awe that you are able to get several great images in a 15 minute challenge, although being in a place like that I'm sure helps.
I especially liked the photo of the 2 gondolas at about 5:42 in the video.
I like ever think you do all your video are great.
X2 Digital converter? You could have used that, along with the High Resolution feature. Lots of crop options. Just my 2 cents.
Another great video (although it reminded me not to revisit Venice...just too crowded and clichéd)

Gavin, great shots as always! You really are a phantastic protog ! But as such I really think it is a bit " cheating" ( sorry for the word ), because you use a zoom lens. A real one camera, one lens should be a prime lens, imho. I know you can do that as well, so this one is a bit under your phantastic skills. Anyway, great video and I hope no hard feelings!

Thanks Gavin, I love your 15-minute challenges. I usually nip out and do my own in a similar location but the Lancaster canal just doesn't match Venice.
Just a quick question - I have an Olympus O-MD EM-5 MKII and I have my heart set on the O-MD EM1 MKII as you've used both would you say the upgrade is just noticeable or very noticeable?
My photography type is very varied Holiday, street, family days out and I'm a competing club photographer.
I have the same question :)
But in my case i think i didn't use the full potential on my em5mk2. Lovely camera by the way, and great image quality
