    Reading between the lines, I think he probably quite likes this Aston! Three years ago I sold my 4.3 manual Vantage roadster in order to buy a flat that fell through in the end and I really miss it. It sounded epic with the roof down. It's also true what Pauls says about the performance. Although not fast by modern standards, it is certainly quick enough to get you into trouble if you don't pay attention, but you can use more of it's performance more of the time than you can in one of it's modern equivelents.
    Enjoy your car Paul.

    Lol, that Aston Martin song is great - I'm going to blast it every time I take my Vantage out - it's exactly how I feel about this car! I do beg to differ about the paddle shifters though - I bought one with paddle shifters after much debate (wanted manual, but my knees are getting bad with age), and am so happy that I went with the paddles. This car is just as engaging and a joy to drive with the paddles, but for full engagement I agree the manual clutch would be the way to go. Awesome video!

    Paul, I went for my first ride in a paddle shift version of this same car....ok it was a convertible. I couldn't believe how friggin good it sounded and it could move!!!! I have had the fortune to own quite a few....cool / fast cars...91 and 94 ZR1 Corvette, 1998 Lotus Esprit V8 twin turbo, Porsche 968, Porsche 993 / 911 and the Aston was so cool to me. Great craftsmanship. I am in the process or rearranging my fleet.....I do have a car hidden from my wife....not the 1st time...98 F355 and I want to also get an Aston. It has to happen!!!!! Great Video!!!

    There is nothing like driving a car with a stick! My father owned a mustang GT, corvette, and BMW, hello even his Volkswagen was as well. Ever since then its been my passion to enjoy having sports car with Manuel stick shift capability. My next car will be an Aston Martin and hell yes stick shift for sure. Thank you so much for your honest review!

    I knew I liked mine and after your video I now know why. As you’ve said they are great cars and I agree that has a lot to do with having the ability to take full advantage of their capabilities and experience such for longer than you would in something like a Mclaren. I got my 2007 manual six years ago when I retired and still smile every time I look at or drive her. Living the dream.

    Great video and great documentary,,,,I have a 2008 Vantage just wish I had the roads like you have to appreciate fully my car,,,,I have had my Vantage 4 years now and nothing beats that exhaust note and exhilaration when you connect with the car,,,,,mine is the 6 speed manual and just wouldn’t buy a paddle shift car,,,just personal choice,,,,it’s everything you say and does everything you want it to do,,,,here in the UK we don’t get the weather you have but on dry days this car is awesome to drive and I love it,,,,

    I love this review man! I’ve been considering a 348, but don’t know if I could trade my Vantage in for one. What’s your take on the Vantage vs F355? And why did you sell it?

    • @murcimadness
      @murcimadness  3 роки тому +2

      They're completely different cars and wished I had kept it. I loved the the manual 355 and it's screaming 5 valves. It's pure Italian passion and feels like a go kart. It's all about flying through a corner flat as hell. In acceleration, they feel very similar but the Aston has a nice growl that gives you a false sense that it's a tad faster.
      However, if you could only have one, the Aston gives a similar feel in the canyons with a little more comfort and luxury. You can also take it to the grocery store. I love the maintenance free timing chain vs engine out 30K/3yr expensive belt changes too. For value, both manual Aston vantages and 355s should climb. Hope that helps.

    • @oscoe
      @oscoe 2 роки тому +1

      355 is a better drivers car. The 355 is one of the best drivers cars ever. The V8V is not that BUT is a stunning machine with lots of character. The Aston is much easier to live with. More accessible more of the time. But a 355 with a capristo is one of the ultimate sounding cars of all time. The Aston is cheaper to run.
