Can you believe it? Three yrs later and you're finally able to work on the old kitchen? I hope it becomes everything you've dreamed about for so long. I wish you & your entire family all the best.
I can't imagine owning or living in a chateau with land around or any country house for that matter without having horses, even if you can't ride there gorgeous to look at and help with keeping the grass short, I'm a horse lover and used to own 5 .
Magic happens..but you have created it also..doung the very hard yards preparing the Gardener's cottage for the next phase of bringing it back from the edge of doom..surely Beatrix Potter"s spirit is there guiding along the way of replicating Hilltop in some way..well done Michael...🌲🏤🌲
TAKE CARE OF YOUR LUNGS AND USE A MASK. THERE HAS BEEN A FIRE IN THERE, YOU WOULDNT BELIVE HOW MANY HAZARDOUS PARTICLES THERE IS STILL THERE.. AND ALL THE CONCRETE DUST, SO BAD FOR YOUR LUNGS! DO YOU KNOW IT ISNT BLUE CONCRET? ASBESTOS? BE SAFE, NOT SORRY! Darnit, caps lock! I dont have the energy to change it! :) Nice job Michael but please protect your respiratory system!
In this case, I think yelling, or at least a stern, authoritative voice via all caps, is entirely appropriate. MICHAEL! DO WE NEED TO COME THERE AND TELL YOU? (Please say "yes" to that, btw.)
Im honestly more worried about his head. Not wearing a helmet could mean instantaneous death. At least without a mask it will take years if not decades to develop a lung condition.
Thanks for good friends like Ryan, who are willing to help with heavy, yucky work! Without him, it would've taken you twice as long to get that job done! I love all the roses! Real beauties.
Excellent "droning" for a beutiful video with beautiful music and scenes all so talented 😍👏👏 "I loov this wee cottage" 🤣😄😊👑 fit for King's men and Woman and whittle tiny puppies with grand bed's🐕
Hi Michael, I grew up on a lovely 140 year old farm in Indiana. I spent many a summer playing in the barns. Pigeon poo was a plenty. I want to send you a warning. Pigeon poo can cause spots on your lungs and many diseases so please be very careful to wear protective gear when cleaning. You may want a proper ventilation mask. I found out many years later my lungs were covered in spots. The physician thought it was tuberculosis when I had a chest X-ray after a car accident. We love your videos! Please keep sharing.
Hi Michael, You know we all love and support you so I should say that first! But also many commenting here would be Patreon’s or have donated to the restoration so please do listen to the pleas for wearing protective gear! It would be such a shame for you to lose supporters who can’t bear to watch you work without googles, hard hat and boots and you really need to anytime there is dust or debris - take it from someone who ended up in hospital with a scratched cornea! Worst pain ever, two weeks to heal and my vision has never been the same. Pls for your Reno vids help us keep watching and protect yourself ❤️ 🙏🙏
You are amazing at editing your blogs. So professional and really gives great interest in wanting to see the next blog. My favorite Chateau Can't wait until you're done with the cottage. God bless you and keep you safe
I did some work camps in my late teens early twenties. It was a win-win I got free accomodations and full boarding, and the council got free working force to make some restoration on chapels, run down mills etcetera. Besides I aquire some skills. I would’ve loved be part of a project like this.
I don't know if you've thought of this, but you might consider underfloor heating. I hmmm'd and haw'd and finally put it in my old house and it has been one of my best decisions.
MASK or RESPIRATOR....for the love of your lungs and for the future you wish to have without cancer or COPD.....MASK or RESPIRATOR!!!! ❤ Subscribed to EagleEyePhotography!!
I just watched stephanie 's blog and then yours. I love seeing you two together. Her blog showed more footage of you Michael. I was hoping your blog would show more of her. If you want more viewers incorporate more of you two together. I love both of you and watch you regularly. Cheers from an American living in Germany🥰
Papa Petherick is a builder of 60 years!!! So entertaining all of it including your man Dan ... What's wrong with that polished voice?? Stephanie's excitement is contagious :) Thank you all so much!
Bloody hard work, love watching the progress. At my sisters house in France as they were doing up things, they found lots of skeletons . But at least they laid them back where they found them😱. I can’t wait to get back to France, miss it so much. Really want to buy a house there. Only just found your UA-cam channel and loving it, well done with all your trying. The Roses are Devine 😀
Loved part one. But held my breath through the whole episode due to the danger you were putting yourself in. Please be careful. I totally agree with you on DIY but there are some things in the building trade that need to be addressed first. That is safety first. That whole gable end needed to be part rebuilt and underpinned before even attempting doing anything inside. Me and brothers have saved so many buildings which we have lived in over the years. Old Victorian school, Old Victorian Vicarage. An old super market and an empty ruin of a farm house in the country side. Many times we had to get the professionals in to do dangerous jobs but its worth it. Last words enjoy but be safe.
Old lime plaster let's the building breath many old buildings have been ruined by cement rendering & pointing. Keep up the good work be worth it in the end 👍👌
I love the building tips. I tore down an old chimney and ripped old wet moldy plaster off the summer kitchen of my Civil War Era home. Such a mess but so worth while. Brick was underneath one wall, and lathe under 3 other walls that I put dry wall over.
I agree on this! I work for a certain historic conservation charity in the UK and one of the first projects I got to oversee was re-plastering the 17th Century Wattle and Daub building where I am based at. Taking it back from the horrible cement to it’s original Lyme plaster. Unfortunately, it’s a real problem in historic buildings that from the Victorian period onwards there was a real fashion for cement. Same with the fashion for painting all timber buildings black and white!
Wear EYE protection too‼️ My bro n law, nearly lost his eye, pulling down a ceiling. EAR protection for loud machinery. My husband is near deaf from tractors his whole life.
Please buy some safety gear.... and all that dust from those old walls going into your lungs could be prevented by a mask as well... I think all of us who watch your videos or even donated to the gofundme would appreciate it. So will your health. 😄
Love seeing the actual work you're doing. So many rehab videos showy ou before and after shots but never actually show you the hard work that goes into getting there. Thank you for keeping things real. What an absolutely beautiful chateau and all it's wonderful buildings. Your little gardener's cottage is going to be perfect for you.
So glad the garden cottage can be saved and restored. How lucky to have a dad with a lifetime of experience! I know thats the big light of your life, but I have to say, my god those roses!! Absolutely stunning. I want all of them. They are just to die for, so consider yourself proud to have them. You must be so happy to be out and about after lockdown, and to be able to spend it with such a good friend. I cant wait to see what you and Stephanie come up with. Without a doubt it will be fun.
Micheal and Stephanie 💋i love your integrity and how you always include other’s to share their shine 😘👏thank you for sharing your homes & your artisan sides as well as this beautiful site 😘 so glad your getting some rose clippings for Elizabeth 💕🥰
The tenacity is unreal, you all rock!!! As they say in the show As Times Go By " Rock On" You all have America on our toes. I know I just want more and more videos. My ex husband is a carpenter and my son. I love restoration and interior decorating.. Amazing!!! I love the fact that your friends are helping out. Just precious, God Bless!!!
Can we get full length soothing chateau and music shots, please! If you ever have a spare minute, you could totally edit together all your soothing chateau and music shots into their own videos. Not everyone is into the vlogs and chatty updates. But those shots are just so beautiful and soothing and well-edited.
The quality of videography, sound, editing and just the content is so HIGH. I am not even surprised you got so many subscribers for such a short amount of time
I am watching all of these older videos. They are just marvelous. I hope Michael will be making new videos soon and visiting Stephanie again. WE MISS YOU, MICHAEL!
It’s really fitting that this beautiful property and land is in you and your family’s care Michael. Incredibly hard work but so magical. Till next time 🌹
Would love to hear more from your dad and mum & stories from your childhood. The appreciation for hard work, love of beauty and history seems to have been imbued , in you & your siblings, from the cradle onwards . Your dad's quiet , humble persona belies a depth of skill and talent
LOVE YOUR DAD! REMINDS ME OF MY DAD! how lovely to have your dad to help you..thats someone you can trust.. Bloody hell Michael you have done massive of work since last video!
I wrote on Stephanie’s newest video saying how much I love your montages. The ones in this video were superb, you have such an eye for beautiful details! The drone shots were truly stunning and the music so emotive. Keep up the amazing work
Michael is’nt afraid of hard work! and of course his mate Ryan is a great help! So talented in renovating his Garden Cottage. Carry on the good work! All the very best from Cymru (Wales) 🏴
Dear Mr. Petherick, it is so good to see this beautiful video. I didn't watch it when it appeared as things have been very unsettling here in the States. Peaceful protests, many of which become violent, even here in this Indiana city where I live. Vandalism to the beautiful courthouse, fires set, break-ins, teargas, and much more. Anyway, I was feeling quite down and tearful, then decided to watch your video at 2am. Your dad is amazing! I was sure the wall would fall in; and it's fine! Barry is quite a sweet help. You still had no masks on, silly boys. The drone footage (wonderful work, Dan!) is so pretty. I loved the secret guest's arrival, with finger extended through gate in quarantine greeting! Such roses--stunning. And back at LaLande, Madame Isabelle will start them for the garden. They will be glorious. Thank you so much for being such a beautiful respite, Basmaignée and LaLande! Adieu, 🙏🏻🌷❤️⚜️💜⚜️❤️🌷🙏🏻
Wow you guys got a lot done in the cottage. You are blessed to have such a supportive friend in Ryan and such a supportive family! Your dad is a treasure!
"I'll send the bill in the post." That was funny. Yellow roses are my favourite. 😉 Fun times with Stephanie and your friend Dan.. Great job flying the drone Michael. I did enjoy Dan's footage of the wedding. Enjoy your time at La Lande. ❤️🤗
The drone shots at the end with the amazing music made the chateau so magical!!! Great work Dan and you and your family have such a lovely home Michael!
Wow the cottage is really coming along. Ryan thank you so much for helping out. Great content. Typical English men, the 'Get off me' comment made me laugh. 😁 I don't want to hammer on about the safety gear. 😱
Thank you , lovely to see you both together after such a time and the roses are gorgeous can’t wait to see what comes next . You must be excited with the cottage coming together. We are so blessed with the way we are allowed to included in your amazing life ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
I'm trying to imagine the last day of construction, as the last worker completed the last detail, when the chateau was first built and everything was brand new, that new chateau smell, and the first owner's excitement upon finally moving in. It must have been an incredible experience.
Michael I love your enthusiasm for everything that surrounds you, your passions and drive for being part of this world even if sometimes can be rough...but that's where the secret lies 🙄 those roses are stunning, your cottage will be immaculate once you have finished renovation...stay humble and soulful....much love to you and Stephanie Ps: whose background music is it in drone footage form 22:00 ?!...loving it
Do get your hats, masks, etc. It is incredibly exciting to see the progress going on in the cottage. That fractured corner of stone in the cottage makes me very nervous, I hope you can get that structurally sound soon. It is going to be just beautiful. I donated a bit to the fund to save the cottage, I feel very invested though the amount was small, I'm rooting for you!
I love the DIY. The cottage is looking cleaned out to the bare bones. You will have a clean slate to bring it back to it's glory. Thanks so much for keeping us entertained in lock down.
My gosh! Your dad could be my dad’s doppelganger. Amazing resemblance. Good luck with the renovation. So fascinating to watch your vision pan out. Greetings from Pennsylvania.
Can you believe it? Three yrs later and you're finally able to work on the old kitchen?
I hope it becomes everything you've dreamed about for so long.
I wish you & your entire family all the best.
I think Michael needs to get a horse and film himself galloping around the property set to dramatic music!
hahahahahah am i the only one laughing to this- he does look like a fit knight! (you heard me) hahhaahaha when are we going to meet up loool
He will have to grow his hair out then! Flowing locks blowing in the wind as he gallops! :-)
Yes please
I can't imagine owning or living in a chateau with land around or any country house for that matter without having horses, even if you can't ride there gorgeous to look at and help with keeping the grass short, I'm a horse lover and used to own 5 .
Yes, Please!
Also he smokes so his lungs are already not in that great a condition!!! Protect yourself Michael!
Asbestos concern, please check! Michael, your health is your priority, young man!
In this case, I think yelling, or at least a stern, authoritative voice via all caps, is entirely appropriate. MICHAEL! DO WE NEED TO COME THERE AND TELL YOU?
(Please say "yes" to that, btw.)
My first thought too. WEAR A MASK!

"I loov this wee cottage" 🤣😄😊👑 fit for King's men and Woman and whittle tiny puppies with grand bed's🐕
Tell Dan, we Americans hear a charming accent. His voice is lovely.
Dan, your voice is lovely. Don't be worried about it, please! ⚜️💗⚜️
loriah Exquisite footage as well as a very pleasant voice .
Hi Michael, I grew up on a lovely 140 year old farm in Indiana. I spent many a summer playing in the barns. Pigeon poo was a plenty. I want to send you a warning. Your dad is a star 🌟😄👏
Ryan is a true blue working trooper 💪🙏😎
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Dan’s voice. I’m thinking that we all may think that of our own voice. Never mind and just do it!
I have incredible rose envy right now watching Stephanie and Micheal walking through the avenue of roses in bloom
The pink rose with the very strong scent looks like it may be a "Masquerade" rose. Isobel would certainly love that
Hi Michael, You know we all love and support you so I should say that first! But also many commenting here would be Patreon’s or have donated to the restoration so please do listen to the pleas for wearing protective gear! Dan get some amazing videos. SO EXCITED to see the work being done at the cottage. Ryan is a wonderful friend. Have a fantastic time at La Lande
The sound track with the drone footage is just so calming and Chateau La Lande is giving me some Northanger Abbey vibes.
That drone footage really does validate the majesty of the chateau.
You are amazing at editing your blogs.
So professional and really gives great interest in wanting to see the next blog.
My favorite Chateau
Can't wait until you're done with the cottage.
God bless you and keep you safe
It certainly is a deeply beautiful building.
I did some work camps in my late teens early twenties. It was a win-win I got free accomodations and full boarding, and the council got free working force to make some restoration on chapels, run down mills etcetera. Besides I aquire some skills. I would’ve loved be part of a project like this.
It’s hilarious watching your face Michael, while you are listening to Dan giving you the specs of the drone. 😂😂😂
Very grateful for the opportunity to film chateau de la basmaignèe!!!
See you soon!!!
I so enjoyed watching your drone footage, very professional indeed. Made my day, thanks to you and Michael.
I am the same way about my voice. Your voice is wonderful!
I love all the chatueas but this one is my absolute favorite. So green and lush like hotel
not only the chateau has made a transformation also Micheal look amazing like in the beginning
4 years later and we need to fix your chimney..❤ I will help.
I don't know if you've thought of this, but you might consider underfloor heating. I hmmm'd and haw'd and finally put it in my old house and it has been one of my best decisions.
The walls are actually so pretty without the plaster 😍 not very functional but pretty!
MASK or RESPIRATOR....for the love of your lungs and for the future you wish to have without cancer or COPD.....MASK or RESPIRATOR!!!! ❤ Subscribed to EagleEyePhotography!!
Please wear a mask. Possible lead paint, concrete and mortar dust can ruin your lungs! We cringe to watch you work in those conditions.
And you smoke too, right?
Be lung safe please!
I saw someone say he smokes so im guessing he doesnt care much about the health of his lungs
He said he wears a mask outside of shots but can't really talk while wearing it. He also hasn't smoked in quite awhile
I think we will find that the near future ones will show both of them in each others vlogs.
Papa Petherick is a builder of 60 years!!! So entertaining all of it including your man Dan ... What's wrong with that polished voice?? Stephanie's excitement is contagious :) Thank you all so much!
PLEASE USE PPE SO WE CAN ACTUALLY SEE YOU FINISH THIS WITHOUT INJURY!!!
Yes, please use PPE !
Please do a video explaining what all the buildings are that surround the Chateau and are on the property and what they’re being used for.
The grounds are beautiful, as well as the stunning roses!
The view of your chateau is so much more beautiful
Ryan seems like such a nice and happy guy :)
Majestic ending. Michael please ensure you aren't exposing yourself to anything dangerous in the cottage xxxx
The whole video was a amazing but the last part was a sumptuous visual treat, thank you.
Love these Dan videos! Be sure & live this Chateau lol Music..& editing perfect.
In Australia the pink and white rose is called Double Delight
Can’t wait to see what Dad does with his cottage also.

VAUGHAN DICKINSON, yeah. I was cringing throughout this video and the previous one as well. 😫
Old lime plaster let's the building breath many old buildings have been ruined by cement rendering & pointing. Keep up the good work be worth it in the end 👍👌

Ryan seems like such a good friend and hard worker. Take care and be nice to your friends as my mother used to say.
Your dad always looks so surprised when you ask him something this is so cute ^^
I just loved the rose cutting, fragrance sampling and admiring with Stephanie and Michael. Such a lovely moment between friends in the garden.
Ryan’s a good mate to help with the renovation, you find out who your real friends are when there’s hard work to do.
May get a hard hat after seeing the last episode. Be safe bro.
Wear EYE protection too‼️
My bro n law, nearly lost his eye, pulling down a ceiling.
EAR protection for loud machinery.
My husband is near deaf from tractors his whole life.

Nice seeing stephanie .
Please be safe with safety gear when working on your cottage. Very concerned for your safety Michael and Ryan. 🇨🇦💕💕 Love your creativity and talents!

The drone shows how really beautiful the Chateau and property is. It give you the big picture so to speak.
Good job Michael and dad,
I find it amazing that there are people that are willing to work hard to make these buildings live again.
So glad the garden cottage can be saved and restored. How lucky to have a dad with a lifetime of experience! I know thats the big light of your life, but I have to say, my god those roses!! Can we get full length soothing chateau and music shots, please!
If you ever have a spare minute, you could totally edit together all your soothing chateau and music shots into their own videos. Not everyone is into the vlogs and chatty updates. But those shots are just so beautiful and soothing and well-edited.

There’s something magical about the woods, you can almost hear the trees whispering and the plants drinking in the sun !
It’s really fitting that this beautiful property and land is in you and your family’s care Michael. Incredibly hard work but so magical. Till next time 🌹
I just envy your friendship with Stephanie. Helping each other to restore those treasures. You should stay together!!!!Love both of you😍😍😍😍
Isabelle was so happy with the rose cuttings. So cute!!!!

I would love to know how to do rose bushes from cuttings. Those roses are beautiful.
Sylvia Copeland there is a website, a Canadian chap in British Columbia that teaches you how. I’ll get you the name of the show.
Take an aloe leaf and punch your cutting in, it will root faster and better...
Charles Walker the roses were phenomenal. Roses just seem to grow better in Britain and France.
Try the internet. There's quite a lot of useful information there.
You are a delight to watch and such a talented young man you are in every thing x
I wrote on Stephanie’s newest video saying how much I love your montages. The ones in this video were superb, you have such an eye for beautiful details! The drone shots were truly stunning and the music so emotive. Keep up the amazing work

I could listen to your dad talk construction all day
You and Ryan got so much done in those first few minutes. Looks good.
Dear Mr. Petherick, it is so good to see this beautiful video. I didn't watch it when it appeared as things have been very unsettling here in the States. Thanks Michael, loving your vlog. Very happy to hear you got enough from the Go Fund Me to restore the Gardeners Cottage. Yey!
Wow you guys got a lot done in the cottage. You are blessed to have such a supportive friend in Ryan and such a supportive family! Your dad is a treasure!
Your dad is such a delight!
Love it all. So happy to think my tiny contribution on Patreon is helping such a worthy building.
I love the music!!!! U do well at taking people places with ur imigary and sound.
I mean it doesn't hurt that ur filming a chateau in france but still. I love it.
I love the music also. I would love to get the name of the song playing during the drone footage please.
How fun it will be fun to watch what you and Stephanie get up to, together, now! The dynamic duo! 😍
I was scared for a moment it was Friday already and the week had just disappeared!
Too funny. A symptom of quarantine no doubt.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
All so very beautiful done. Michael is delightful, energetic, and charismatic.
The Roses are beautiful!
As beautiful a setting as it gets. Thanks for keeping me company while I do my more modest chores.

“New chateau smell”. Love it! Trying to imagine what that smell would be like . . .
I'm also worried about your lungs! All that OLD dust! Take care! I love your and Stephanie's vlogs.
Petherick and Mummy are my two favourite people
Both conservative with a quiet spirit.
Very becoming
I have sympathetic body pains just watching all the work.
Michael I love your enthusiasm for everything that surrounds you, your passions and drive for being part of this world even if sometimes can be rough...but that's where the secret lies 🙄 those roses are stunning, your cottage will be immaculate once you have finished renovation...stay humble and soulful....much love to you and Stephanie
