Dude your home studio is jacked! 3 Denons, a Xone 96, I see the Urei with the isolator in the back as well!
I figured if I couldn't work in the DJcity UK lab for a while, thanks to lockdown, might as well bring some nice gear home!
i mix video on my twitch stream so unless i want to film myself mixing for now maybe not but its a great tool and portable as well
Can you pipe the Mevo video into the Atem mini pro? How would you integrate that? Do a video on this if you can!

This was interesting Mojaxx, I was also disappointed at the need to pay a subscription for a feature it should have come with. I think for DJs, what would also add value would be live streaming gear that can provide multiple angles for our audiences.

The shutter, ISO, etc. - depending on finely they can be adjusted - can be very useful if light sources flicker in the video, or depending on how bright you want everything to be.
It would have been hard to recommend if it didn’t have that kind of manual adjustment. A very welcome feature.
We do sports live streaming. Was wondering in NDI mode how far can I set the Mevo from the laptop? I want a camera to shoot from the dugout to home plate to capture batters stepping in to bat. It would be no more than 100' away. The Mevo just needs to be able to get on the same network as my Macbook. Right?
Does it record audio as a separate file? Or do you need to extract it from the video?

This will surely help with my UA-cam videos awesome video the image looks great. How is the quality compared to the go pro 8.
I haven't tried the GoPro 8, only older ones - and this looks a lot better than those, especially in low light. It's worth noting that the Hero 8 needs the extra Media Mod to do HDMI output, so you'll need the GoPro, the Media Mod, and a capture card to use it for streaming - and then it can't do mobile. For streaming, the Mevo is a far better option, IMO.
@@Mojaxx Awesome!Just what I needed!I'm using a GoPro Hero 4 for streaming and was thinking to upgrade to the Hero 8.Also recently reduced my setup to a pair of Technics and a Xone 96 so I need to stick with Traktor DVS which can't run on the same Mac with OBS Streaming....Was going to get a 2nd cheaper Mac to run Traktor,but this camera might do it for me!Am I right?
@@gal3sz This removes a computer out of the equation entirely, so definitely a good investment compared to a second computer!

Mevo is a simpler setup but OBS with a camera is the best way for options.

Very interesting. What's the maximum capacity SD card the Mevo can handle? And does it split files that are recorded or leave them as one big file?
Supports SDXC so there shouldn't be a limit, in theory. I was using a 64gb card. It does split the files, but there is no noticeable gap between the splits.
I use a 256GB card for hours of recording
Does autopilot mean you can focus on a football and it will track during a game?
I was gifted a Mevo Plus recently. I'm assuming it will have more limitations than the Mevo Start. Either way this review was very helpful, Thanks Mojaxx!
The Plus records (but doesn't stream) in 4K, which is cool, but might impact low-light performance. It also doesn't have the same kind of battery life, and from what I've seen, getting DJ audio into it is not so simple. But still, a very cool addition to your streaming kit!
For perfect audio into the Plus purchase a $15 Audi interface from
Amazon and plug into
Phone/iPod or iPad. And done.
You can't even buy a Plus anymore on Mevo's website. Seems they want them totally phased out.

Check out the short clip during the outro (or the full Battery Powered Breaks mix on my Mojaxx channel). That was in my back yard, and it was hella dark. I also deliberately didn't light the main sections of this video that well - and it looks pretty good IMO! It's a small sensor, it's never going to be as good in low light as something like a full-frame mirrorless camera, but for the size, yep... it's good.

The greatest part of this camera is the app it allows you to set a zoomed in shot a wide shot as well as face following and have the camera automatically cut into each view. If you have someone to monitor the shots they perform smooth transitions between each all live!

Is the Mevo start weather proof?
No unlike the original Mevo (with the Boost battery) this newer “Start” version is NOT water proof. Find an older model and get the boost module to place this is a watery environment.👍🏽
Totally agree they are too greedy with the overlays
hard to justify this over a $200 iPod Touch which can love stream via apps like Twitch and do NDI to OBS and are wireless with a great camera and built in screen.
I use it for live streaming for about 3 months. See it live here ua-cam.com/video/1EFrCZFHdOQ/v-deo.html . On the + side: kind of works, app crashes from time to time but overall it works. What i don't like is the price for multiple streaming on all platforms. It requires a 200$/year subscription. That's almost the price of the camera. i would also like the ability to use the sd card as a source for background sound. Just select a wave, mp3 file whatever instead of having to plug in a mp3 player or phone for music.
the vimeo stuff not cool I am not a fan of subscriptions and too many things for djs right now are subs.Not a fan of that at all but everything else seems pretty good
