This video shows how to calculate How to calculate Semi-interquartile range of a group data, including a step-by-step demonstration.
The semi-interquartile range is a useful tool for describing the spread of data and identifying potential outliers in a data set. Is a measure of statistical dispersion that is closely related to the interquartile range (IQR). The IQR is the difference between the upper and lower quartiles, which divide a data set into quarters, or four equal parts. The SIQR is simply half of the IQR.
To calculate the SIQR, you first need to calculate the IQR. To do this, you need to arrange your data in order from smallest to largest, and then find the median. The median is the value that separates the lower half of the data from the upper half. Next, find the median of the lower half of the data, which is known as the lower quartile (Q1), and the median of the upper half of the data, which is known as the upper quartile (Q3). The IQR is then calculated as the difference between Q3 and Q1. Once you have the IQR, you can calculate the SIQR by dividing the IQR by 2.
