  • HARVEST 2020 IS DONE!!
And what a beautiful finish to such a crazy year.
But as much as I do love fieldwork, I have REALLY missed my sheep.
I guess the saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder" is really true!
Thank you for hanging out with Jess, Mark and I as we finally put 2020 crops to bed.

    What does red corn mean?
GRAIN DUST KNOWN AS “ DOG” OR “BEES WINGS” IS THE MOST COMMON TYPE OF DUST FROM GRAIN HANDLING SYSTEMS. IT HAS A DISTINCTIVE -ORANGE COLOUR AND CAN BE PRODUCED IN LARGE QUANTITIES WHEN HANDLING .Nov 1, 2019

I just figured out what the weird red stuff that appears out of nowhere on our roads is... I'm 28 and not a farm girl, at all, but my parents live in a pretty rural area (I moved out and back into the city). There's a corn handling facility near, and I never put 2 and 2 together! It was one of those yearly mysteries that I just assumed to have something to do with plant life. It never crossed my mind that it was always during the harvest, particularly once the big rigs started driving by to deliver the corn to the factory (they make feed for animals, I think). I had no idea.

Just be really grateful your not from the States where things are still a little crazy, weather included. lol Eh, what am I bitching about, I live just north of San Francisco where we're just getting into Fall weather. Mark, it’s so wonderful to see that smile on your face and being so proud of your special girls. You should archive this video to reflect back on the joy of this spectacular harvest when things don’t go this well. I love your family and how well you take care of them. Make sure that you affectionately show them how you feel. I thought for sure you were going to turn around at the end and give Sandi a huge hug to celebrate the day. How happy that would have made her. What happened? Anyway......... Congrats guys!

Of course you won :)) Mommys always do. Wind beneath my wings, is the song that comes to my mind right now. Girl power for sure but grateful daddy. You are all a perfect team. Thank you for the corn experience as well as I live in a small community area with outskirts of farmland tucked in and watch the farmers late into the night sometimes, and late in the season and have wondered why and what. Admired it knew the hard work, but now I know the ins and outs. Farmers rock.

You might look into getting a grocery service where you use an electronic lock to let them & they put it away for you. That way you can be in the field & not worry about anything going bad while you work. A big cooler on the porch or small fridge might work too.
Then you can order from your phone while in the field.

Keep the antibiotic going until you get a distinct line of separation on the gangrenous udder. Pen & Strep is one of the antibiotics you can use without destroying the rumen function. You could pen her up the end with access to the feed bunk. Not very pleasant but the udder will slough off and hopefully you will still have a cull ewe. I would keep her separate as she will not need to compete.

It’s their tradition to have a huge corn dinner. Honestly ALL CORN ! They usually have sweet corn like honey select so it’s awesome! This whole family sit around a huge dinning table eating corn on the cob is an amazing site lol butter flying every where and it’s wonderful lol.

Great for you Mark that is a big smile on your face for completion of corn harvest. I am happy for all of you folks that is a great feeling to be done with harvest. Is ripper field work next to prep for winter wheat ?
Mark just thinking oit loud could you use Donaldson cyclone panels on the genetator air inlet louvers panel area, it also uses an exhaust venture to assist in dabris removal from the panels. These panels could stop most of the bee's wings from getting into the generator Rad area. Please Take Care of your self Plus Be Very Care Full around all Farm Equipment.

Your videos always make me hungry so now I see your videos pop up, grab my snack, tuck into bed and enjoy for the whole video. Phones on silent even to the boyfriend lol. So thankyou for making my evenings pass smoothly. I may need to diet at this rate though.

Someone else said it too, but Old Navy tall has been amazing. I'm not as tall as you but I have the same inseam as my 6'3" son! So jeans always fit weird. I love Old Navy jeans, and the tall sweaters/jackets have long enough arms!!! That has literally never happened for me.

I can relate to Jessica on long legs. I have found that Eddie Bauer and Old Navy have Long length jeans. I'm glad that you were able to get harvesting done without fighting snow.

Jess, I really relate to the struggle to find long pants. I was always the tallest girl in my class. We didn't wear jeans so I did make pants but now its nice to be able to order them online. I think you are taller than I was. You have super long legs 🦵 good to have since you are always climbing over pens.

Glad you are done with the 🌽. Amen. Hopefully winter will give you a little break. To rest maybe on the weekends. Sure hope so. You all work so hard. Remember my grandpa never got a break even in the winter the cow's always acted up needed his attention. God bless all of you. Watch your channel everytime I can.
